What are you listening to now?

So someone just gifted me Borderlands 2. I guess I'm playing now.

You're so British, Dean. <3

I always appreciate that. Otherwise I'll find myself saying 'huh' and raising the volume too late.

Atomsk88 reminded me of Zuko's descendant in Korra. So awful. It's the same actor; I get it. It's still awful.
-
Thanks. I'll have to give it some thought. Sorely tempted as well. x:

Is that place reliable? I mean, have you used it regularly? Just seems shady is all.

@Ethan: Didn't mean to imply you said anything like that. It was more of a general statement. They're all underhanded in their own way. That's how these things work.
-
I suppose that makes sense, Ethan. Especially the motion bit. I still don't think Nintendo is doing anything any more underhanded than anyone else out there, but yeah, I can see why it might present a problem to devs targeting core gamers who might not want the WiiU. I wonder how that's worked out for companies that have developed core-type games for the Wii only.
-
You make some points about the hardware part; although it seems to me Microsoft are the bigger dicks when it comes to exclusivity. As far as hardware being a problem, I'm honestly not in a position to discuss it. Don't have the proper knowledge and all. I know there's generally an issue of developing down for the Wii, but why does that work the other way around? Going from Wii to PS3/360, I mean. I understand that there's the issue of people bemoaning a game not looking "HD" enough when most PS3/360 games aren't even native 1080-anything, but is there a technical impasse there? That's not a rhetorical question, sarcasm or anything of the like. I know Tales of Graces ƒ went from Wii to PS3 without too much trouble, but again, I don't know how the hardware works. I can't think of any other multi-platform games that went from Wii to PS3/360 and not the other way around. But again, I don't what's preventing going from inferior to superior hardware in the same way that games are ported from 360/PS3 to PC.

That sounds a lot like Microsoft. More Microsoft' date=' actually. Christ, Thursday. I certainly don't get it. Friend codes, tenuous multi-player, shop channel purchases being tied to one console? I'm not sure if they've any plans to fix these things on the WiiU, but I sure as hell hope so. Though to be honest, I wouldn't mind another Gamecube. Gamecube was a solid system.

I don't know about Tales. It's a fairly prolific series on the PS3/360/PSP still. They've also acquired Monolith Soft, so you can add that developer to the list of acquisitions. Having developed/co-developed Xenogears, Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins is by itself a huge representation of Monolith Soft's worth. I hear they developed Xenosaga, too. But I didn't like Xenosaga. >.> I'm not really sure if Bayonetta counts; nevertheless, I think the uproar is downright silly. Downright silly. I'm still not quite keen on giving Nintendo any money. They've an uphill battle ahead of them, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one. But it's good that they're making something of an effort in this respect at the very least.

Loathe as I am to give Bethesda money for their $59.99 RRP PC games, wife really wants Dishonored for her birthday, so I purchased that. :\

If there's anything negative to be said about the second game (aside from my never liking the Diablo lootathon which would be like me playing Madden and complaining about sports games), it's that I still can't register to play multiplayer. I have played several hours on LAN as an engineer lass, though. They're fairly neat. Sort of a large arms/1h+board warrior with whirlitinkering gadgets.

Them black/greens are glorious.

Please don't remind me that the Fade was a thing.

Ah, lol. I suppose that would be their sort of news. And thanks, Cowboy, though I'm not certain whether that's sarcasm or not.

I think that was someone else. I remember seeing that article, actually.

THEY CAN NEVER LIVE IN UNISON! THERE WILL BE NO PEACE! There's this thing: voice acting for English games or anime. And you know what? It has a fair chance at being luvverly jubberly. A fair chance. Localized—or translated if they're bad at what they do—media tends to skip this. I'm not sure whether it's because they're pulling from a less costly VA pool or what, but unfortunately, it's the rule not the exception that English VA in localized games isn't something to write home about. Often, it's something you'll never want to write anyone about. Ever. I'm not some purist either. If English voices weren't so often higgledy piggledy, I'd be keen on listening. Presently, the majority either sound like they're trying too hard or not hard enough. Nothing sounds natural. Well, very few games sound natural. Heavenly Sword? Fucking baller VA. Fucking baller. Nariko, Kai and King Bohan, namely; but even the supporting cast fit. Does it take a big publisher like Sony to occasionally get things right? Edit: I don't think I stressed enough how fucking baller Heavenly Sword's VA is.

Totally irrelevant to the Vita conversation (as I've no Vita), but I often forget this. In fact, I didn't even remember upon opening the thread. Now, after navigating, I do. I actually proposed to my wife with a custom LBP level. x:

Man, see. Man. I just like semi-turn-based isometric romps. If I wanted to play Dynasty Warriors or Kingdom Hearts I'd—okay, I'd never want to play Kingdom Hearts. But there aren't many present-day RPGs servicing the combat territory that Dragon Age: Origins did. I thought of saying "combat niche", but that'd be wrong. And if there's something I'm never mostly JUST LISTEN, OKAY?! I mean, how many games discard the DA:O approach for something more action fight baby slap? I don't think it's a crime that one high profile game wanted to follow in its predecessors' footsteps (since it was marketed as the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate 2 for so long). There is an abundance of high profile role-playing games out there for you action-y folk. That said, I really doubt Bioware will go back to the Origins system. Then again, I haven't really enjoyed a Bioware game since before Jade Empire (not including DA:O). And even if they were to somehow charge $49.99 for the PC version of the game and make PC lead platform again (because you develop down not up), I wouldn't be keen on purchasing a game for Origin. As much as I enjoyed the first game—too much given that it wasn't a god damned marvel or anything (own the novelizations, regular and collector's edition, expansion, t-shirt)—it's going to take a lot to sell me DAIII. A lot. Orlais would be lovely. And Zevran fangirls would flip their shit.

You could have used a Gamecube or Classic controller for Smash Bros, Yuki.
