  1. Yes, Let Me In is a perfectly reasonable remake. It gets a lot of unwarranted hate for coming out so soon after the original, but the changes they make work for the film. For example, in a world of cell phones and instant communication, it makes sense to take all that away by sending the movie to the 80s.
  2. Some idiot is trying to justify piracy. "So if Hitler said you couldn't copy Mien Kamf, we would have to abide by his wishes, even though he's Hitler?" Yes, smartass.

  3. F**king Coachella breaking my YouTubes! How am I supposed to watch my Let's Play at 1 AM with this clogging up the streams?

  4. Horror fans: Play the Justine bit of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Wonderfully frightening, and a vignette that actually adds to Amnesia's story.

  5. Want me to share tips on getting some potatoes? Or is that considered cheating?

It's not cheating unless you get caught.

Try the grocery store, they sell a bag cheap.

  6. Really? Because GameTrailers is paying Mega64 to put time-exclusive videos on their site...
  7. I love that movie. If you have the DVD, you should check out the behind-the-scenes stuff. It's very extensive, and the making of the film is almost as fascinating as the film itself. You wouldn't believe the amount of trickery they had to use to get around Stanford's unwillingness to cooperate with the filmmakers.
  8. You can get one for joining a specific Steam group.
  9. This new Foo Fighters album is awesome!

I only got one song but it's pretty heavy. I like it

You should also check out Deadmau5's remix of the album's big single, Rope. Just as awesome as the regular version, but in a completely different way.

  10. That's weird. My friends and I collectively agreed that Source Code is much better than Inception.
  11. Is anyone else here not ready for a new batch of consoles? I think games on the 360 and PS3 still look gorgeous, and I haven't seen any high-spec PC game that made me think the consoles needed that kind of an upgrade.

Yes, the reason we aren't pushing hardware as quickly as we could is that consoles are holding us back.

And thank god for it! Gaming is expensive enough without a crazy-ass hardware race to keep up upgrading my PC.

Pirandello: Yup. Because consoles can't hack complex AI and making those beautiful corriders and shooting gallerys gamers demand.

I'm certainly not ready for a new batch of consoles. Heck, I'm fine with what we've got. I've also not played all the Wii/PS3/360 games currently out that I want to play. Heck, I have a few Gamecube games I still need to get and play!

  12. Jesus, the Kotaku comments are worse than ever on the article about Kinect with Netflix.

It's more than just the Netflix article, Dukey

  13. Great, great game. And yes, Trip is an excellent character.
  14. Bought Resident Evil 5 on 360. Heard it was pretty rad.
  15. Who the hell is Chicago Ted? I played through both L4D and L4D2 and never saw anything about him.

Hey man, I'll get excited for a fat CGI Sonic if I wanna!

  16. These Potato Sack updates reaffirm my belief that Valve is the best game developer ever.

  17. On a Kotaku article about Dr. Pepper appearing in Japanese animation, I posted that I didn't understand why they would put product placement like that in a cartoon instead of a fake brand. Suddenly, this guy jumped down my throat for using the word "cartoon" instead of "anime" when describing Japanese animation. Do people take offense when you call an animated show a cartoon? I consider Archer to be a cartoon, and that's as far away from children's entertainment as you can get.
  18. Speaking of South Korean revenge thrillers, I really want to see I Saw the Devil. People I've talked to who saw it in theaters at select AMCs said they loved it, and that it is absolutely brutal. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't get DVD/Blu-Ray copies until May 5th.
  19. Started and finished a 3,000 word paper in a few hours, 15 minutes before it's due LIKE A BOSS.

Ouch, that must be hurt, you have to go to doctor ASAP.

  20. I've been using my iPad extensively for just about everything (note-taking, browsing the web, occasionally typing papers, etc.) and I have never been in danger of losing power on the device. I no longer move my laptop from its charging station; Comparing the 5 hour (two hour if you do anything other than type) battery on my laptop to the 10 hour battery on the iPad (using wi-fi, watching videos, playing games, etc.), it's not really that big of a choice. When it comes to actually reading on the device, it's not really that much different from e-ink (at least for me; I've heard differing opinions on the matter). I like reading with a black background and white text, and having color pictures (for the autobiography I'm currently reading)rendered properly is nice. I also appreciate the extra screen estate, and having multiple options for digital bookstores feels liberating. Overall, I do almost all of my reading on an iPad now. It's not only books, either; there are several beautiful RSS readers available, and I've been reading The Daily, this gorgeous interactive magazine made exclusively for the tablet. There are also several great free options from certain news sources like USA Today and (partly-free) The New York Times. To sum it up, it's an experience that you never knew you needed until you had one in your possession.
  21. Still polishing off Decision Points. The former president certainly has strong opinions, and while I'm not a big fan of certain stances he takes, it was fascinating to hear him tell his side of the story. People often just shut themselves away from dissenting opinions, and that just leads to situations like our current political divide today. Of course, it will be much easier to listen to the other side, now that the extremist sides are being toned down and the political spectrum is balancing out again.
