  1. Some are saying Sony's data was stored in plaintext, while others are saying it was a cryptographic hash tag. Which one is right, and what do either of them mean?

Plaintext is where it's just stored in a normal, unencrypted file, as like

      Username:Password

Can't tell you what the other means.

  2. I occasionally play competitively, but I always get my ass handed to me when I do.
  3. I found my Halo: Reach disc sitting ON TOP OF the case this morning. Lazy pricks. That's the last time they'll touch my stuff.

Good point! I'll see if I can get $40 from them instead of $60.

I thought you solved this last week D:! better idea, get the $60 from those pricks, buy the $40 version at Amazon and buy yourself a nice meal with the extra $20

  4. Pay attention, console makers! If you're making a Greatest Hits discount collection, NEVER minimize the art and put some bullshit background around it.

Unfortunately most people I know do not have access to a high quality printer - hell, most of them don't own a printer at all.

No librarys around? They tend to have laser printers for like 20p a pop in colour. It's not lithography so you do lose the gloss. But you also lose the crappy box art.

  5. Yeah, my parents have an Education Discount. My mother works for the local school in Southlake, and they have a deal with Dell.
  6. For my brother's high school graduation, he'll be getting an Alienware m11x, so he can game with me when I go back to college and when he leaves for Americorps. I was wondering if you could help me find a combination for the laptop that will both run games well and not cost a gargantuan amount above the asking price.
  7. I regretted working with him.
  8. System Shock is abandonware, not freeware. Big difference.
  9. Did you not accept Sigfried's help in killing it?
  10. Also, it annoyed me that the first cockatrice you kill in the sewers is easy to take down, but the rest of them are so much harder to off.
  11. The swamp doesn't show up until Acts II and III. I think you're thinking of the riverbed right next to the merchant's goods they make you protect. The one filled with drowners (though to be fair, the swamp has its fair share of drowners)?
  12. Yeah, running through the swamp works well. I eventually realized that they were going to throw something like 40-50 enemies at me every time I strolled through, so if I simply ran, I could easily get to the other side with little resistance.
  13. I'll either be getting it on 360 or PC, depending on where the majority of TAY users are at.
  14. SCORE! Just netted a bunch of cash from trading in textbooks. Only question now is what I should spend it on. Brink looks awesome, but I'd be open to suggestions.

360, I think. Maybe PC, if enough people are getting it on PC.

I'm probably getting Brink as well. If I do, I'll be getting the PC version.

      Why?

      IT'S A BLOODY FPS.

  15. Personally I think Jim Sterling is by far the worst gaming "journalist" in the entire industry. The fact that he's jumping on the bandwagon isn't surprising to me in the least bit. Yeah, Sterling is a moron.
  16. Now SOE is hacked, a full WEEK after the PSN debacle? HERE WE GO AGAIN!
  17. It's amazing how an event like this brings out the 9/11 conspiracy nuts. A few even told me that WWI and WWII were propaganda jobs as well!

  18. Well, people on GOG are starting to go all "9/11 is a conspiracy!", so needless to say I will not be discussing this matter with them anymore. EDIT: Wow, now this guy's telling my WWII was a conspiracy as well. Are people from Peru really that short-sighted?
  19. I'm late to the party on this one, so I apologize if you've heard this one a million times. After hearing the Portal songs, I decided to check out more of his stuff. Turns out he's pretty good!
  20. ... What the fuck? I thought we were being extreme, but we aren't showing him getting raped by pigs.
  21. Like Mark Twain said: "I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."
  22. Left 4 Dead 2. At first I didn't like that they got rid of the original cast, but I think I may like Ellis, Nick, Coach and Rochelle more than the original four. Especially Ellis.
  23. How the hell did Fast 5 make 80 million? It's the fifth movie in a series that made less and less money over time, and suddenly it's outselling everything!

I hate that it's called "Fast Five". In the UK it's called "Fast and Furious 5" which makes considerably more sense. Unless there are 5 incredibly fast people in the film.
