  1. @MetalCaveman By all means correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the first game the only good one? At least I think that's what I remember hearing.
  2. Blood and Truth Got it used for about 10 bucks. It's basically an on-rails light gun shooter except it's in VR, which is pretty cool since I used to love light gun shooters but the genre pretty much died a while back. This is a cool way to bring it back and taking cover from enemy fire by actually moving your body to physically take cover is pretty rad. My only beef with this game is that sometimes the tracking didn't work so well. I don't know if that's because this was an early PSVR game, because I played it sitting down in a small room, or because the Move controllers were outdated from day one, but I found aiming down a scope too difficult to work with reliably and would instead just eyeball my targets most of the time. The game ends with some blatant sequel bait so I imagine they are working on a follow-up, perhaps for a PSVR 2? I sure hope so. I love the PSVR but I would love it a lot more if they got some better controllers with finger tracking and internal tracking for the headset like what the Oculus Quest uses. If Sony eventually unveils a new headset with more reliable, updated technology then I'll be preordering that thing on day one.
  3. This time it's Control but that's far from the only game that's guilty of it
  4. Geez It's like Brexit for energy. Sounds like it's working out about as well as Brexit too.
  5. Boy oh boy am I sick of seeing this from the Dems. The GOP has already proven they don't even pretend to care about bipartisanship and will ram through anything they can while they're holding the stick. The Dems are in power now and they should be flipping the GOP the bird and doing what needs to be done but almost none of them have any balls except for a small handful of people. Hell, I wouldn't even bother having the GOP in the room while policies are being worked on. Fuck 'em, the Dems don't owe them shit. Regarding that Texas thing, I actually have family down there right now and they are fucking miserable. If there is one silver lining in that shitshow it's that it provides a good window of opportunity for Biden to have the grid infrastructure updated and to see to it that it also facilitates the implementation of green energy sources. Getting Texas' grid to go clean would do wonders for expanding the idea to the rest of the country.
  6. This whole "screen turns red when you take damage" thing needs to piss off already. There are too many games where taking even half damage might as well be a death sentence because once the screen gets to a certain point you can't even see what you're doing anymore and whether or not you live is mostly going to come down to luck. Figure out some other way to display your health, god damn it. Even the version where the screen turns black and white is preferable because at least there you can usually still make out your surroundings.
  7. Aw man I hate when that crap happens. It drives my OCD absolutely nuts.
  8. Beat the Control DLC. It was okay, I guess. First one wasn't really anything special and it spends way too much time in the astral plane but it wasn't terrible. The extra little bit of intrigue between two certain characters/entities was kind of neat. Second DLC was short but much more interesting. The final boss was total bullshit, though. There is clearly a right way and a wrong way to fight it because when I tried to use anything but the spin gun the game just laughed at me. That is not good boss design.
  9. I understood the basic plot of the game eventually but I'm still in the dark about the lore. I got the "what" but not so much the "why" and the "how". I understand that this setting and the themes at play will inevitably mean some things are left up to interpretation but I feel like they relied on this a little too much. The whole ending chapter and the part after it made no sense to me and I eventually just gave up on trying to wrap my head around it and pushed forward to finish the game. You are not wrong that this game is less, as you put it, "TV-ified" than their earlier titles, but it's still in there and I'm starting to see that this just seems to be their trademark. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I thought it was okay here but didn't think it really added anything special. Except for the music video. That was pretty enjoyable, not gonna lie.
  10. Control Okay so I know everyone fawns over this game but for me it was a bit of a mixed bag. The psychic powers were a lot of fun to use and definitely the best part of the game and the presentation is unique, but everything else came up a bit short for me. The story is incomprehensible and even after finishing the game I barely understand anything that happened. Maybe the DLC clears things up a bit but I subscribe to the belief that a story should make sense without having to buy extra chapters to fill in the blanks. The environments are rather dull and not very exciting to explore with one exception near the end that was actually pretty cool. I like the idea of a transforming gun with different fire modes, but it feels like wasted potential when you can only have two modes active at a time. There aren't that many enemy types and the ones you get aren't all that interesting to fight. None of these issues were obnoxiously bad, but they do drag a potentially great game down into being just a "good" game, and while I still enjoyed it this is probably my least favorite Remedy game, at least that I've played. I never played Quantum Break. On a side note, it's super obvious that Remedy really wishes they were a tv studio rather than a game studio. It's almost kind of depressing. Having said that, there's still fun to be had here and anyone with PS+ might as well give it a whirl this month. I don't usually do numbered scores but if I were to give one to this game on a scale of 1 to 10 with 5 being considered average, I'd probably give this one a 7.
  11. Seriously, I can't remember the last time it was cheaper to build your own PC than to just buy a prebuilt. And this does not bode well for my chances of getting a PS5 anytime soon, maybe even this year.
  12. Just a couple hours so far. I'm sure they flesh it out later on but they start off just throwing so much shit at you at once that it's impossible to process.
  13. I downloaded Control on PS+ and played it for a bit and uhhh What the fuck is going on in this game?
  14. I was thinking about finally trying out that series on PS4 now that they've added VR support to the whole trilogy, but the disgusting 99 dollar fee they're charging for the pass to just one of the older games is really putting me off.
  15. Man, magic is so much more useful in the VR version of Skyrim. Having the ability to aim independent of the camera position changes everything.
  16. Skyrim VR is 70% off today on PSN, down to 17.99
  17. Could we please get a Bloodborne remake next?
  18. Trophy hunting is part of the fun. I never bought into the naysayer argument that hunting for trophies has no point. Bitch, it's a video game. It didn't have a point to begin with. It's all for fun. If going to a little extra effort to get 100% makes the game more engaging then why not do it?
  19. Doesn't that disc come with the PSVR already? Maybe unless you buy a bundle with some other game, I suppose.
  20. I still have to unplug cables. It's just less of a hassle with the adapter. It's basically a dongle that has two female HDMI ports. When I want to play in HDR, I unplug the cables from the box and plug them into that. It's still more inconvenient than I wish it was, but it prevents me having to go behind the tv or the PS4.
  21. I'm finally gonna do it. I'm gonna open up a stock portfolio. It's time to get in on this craze.

If it's for long-term, just invest in a mutual fund. It's impossible to reliably beat the market, so your best bet is to just invest in an index fund (or a few different index funds), because the surest thing is that the market as a whole will go up.

inb4 we're in the generations that experience the collapse of everything.  Feels bad man

      @CorgiShinobi

I looked at my 401K and

      • Personal Rate of Return (YTD)*: 12/31/2020
      • 36.85%

      Someday I'll maximize my contributions...

That's why I said "surest", because nothing with the stock market is actually a sure thing. ?

  22. This is the most amazing news story so far this year. You couldn't pay for entertainment this good.
