  1. I realize there are probably only two people here who fit this criteria but has anyone with both a PS5 and a PSVR tried playing a game that uses the Move controllers? I don't know if I'm imagining it but I tried out Skyrim for a few minutes just to make sure everything was functioning as it should be and I swear it felt like the tracking was better on the PS5 even though it was using the same camera and controllers. I don't know if the extra power in the console actually gives it a boost somehow or if I'm just experiencing a placebo effect because I have a shiny new console. I should mention I did not have a PS4 Pro before getting the PS5. I was still using the regular model.
  2. My PS5 came today. I'm really digging it so far and I love the controller but I fucked myself over. I plan on selling my PS4 tomorrow so I reset it back to factory settings and then hooked up my PS5 to play some Nioh 2 Remastered. Little did I realize that despite uploading my save to the cloud through the PS4, it doesn't actually work unless you upload your character save through the in-game option instead. So I lost almost 200 hours worth of progress. I suppose I could technically unhook everything, move the furniture again, hook the PS4 back up, re-add my account to it, reinstall Nioh 2 and the DLC, download my save, upload it, then reset the PS4 again, unhook it, and hook the PS5 back up, but all my consoles are inside of an enclosed tv unit that is hard to move and I just don't fucking feel like doing it. I had already planned on replaying it with a friend anyway and I already had the platinum for the ps4 version so whatever. I like the game so much that starting fresh doesn't piss me off as much as it normally would. I'm actually more pissed about the fact that I can't upgrade my PS4 Spiderman to the PS5 Spiderman and I'm basically forced to have the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition if I want to play the good version of Spider-Man on it. Edit: Okay, I'm dumb as shit. It took me many hours to realize that I could launch Nioh 2 PS4 from the PS5 instead of the remaster, download my cloud save onto that version, upload it in the in-game menu, and then switch the game back to the remastered version. It's going to take me a little time to get used to the fact that I can launch multiple versions of a game from one disc now.
  3. I've seen footage of that game but I feel like it's one of those things I'd have to play for myself to truly "get." Maybe if it goes on a good sale I'll pick it up.
  4. Moss is short but I really liked it. For an early PSVR game I think it's one of the best ones in that first year or so. I heard they added some free DLC a while back so maybe I should replay that sometime. As for what I've bought recently... I scoffed at this game when it came out but they've really gone above and beyond (no pun intended) to make it worth playing since the disastrous launch. The VR mode is what finally pushed me to get it since I got a friend who also plays it in VR and exploring planets with him sounds like a fun time.
  5. To be fair they are at least making FFXVI and we've seen footage of it so it's not quite as bad as it is for people who are, say, waiting for Elder Scrolls VI.
  6. I'll play it when it comes to the Switch
  7. Yeah I'm pretty sure the problem with my avocados was that they were refrigerated, which you're never supposed to do apparently. It wasn't even my idea to refrigerate them in the first place but oh well, there goes a whole box.
  8. Fuck yeah, I finally did it! I finally got through! It was probably because it was a bundle that was more expensive. To be honest I don't need the Ultimate Spider-Man Edition and I'm probably just gonna sell that and maybe the extra controller on eBay to pay myself back a little, but it doesn't matter. I got you, you son of a bitch!
  9. Starting March 1st, Ratchet and Clank on the PS4 will be free to download for a limited time. You do not have to be a PS+ member to claim it.
  10. Fuck yeah, I can't wait. I hope they make it so you don't have to worry about staying in front of a camera the whole time by using internal tracking. That's the number one drawback of the PSVR for me since I play in a small room and don't actually have as much space as they recommend for the camera. I can still make it work, but I'd love to play VR games without having to finagle with calibrations all the time.
  11. I think to burn the zombies you're supposed to use the kerosene on them and then the lighter separately? It's been a while since I played the remake. Edit: Apparently it's a little sensitive to where you try to use the kerosene container. You have to be standing near their midsection for it to work.
  12. I'm a sucker for any art style that reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics. If this game is even half as good as that one I'm sure I'll pick it up.
  13. Ted Cruz flies to Cancun while Texas freezes. Wow. I really don't have any snarky comment here. Fuck you, Ted. You're a piece of human garbage.
  14. Full price for Skyward Sword on its own is an insult, and I actually like that game. It should have been a collection like the Mario games. That might have actually been worth the money.
  15. @MetalCaveman By all means correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the first game the only good one? At least I think that's what I remember hearing.
  16. Blood and Truth Got it used for about 10 bucks. It's basically an on-rails light gun shooter except it's in VR, which is pretty cool since I used to love light gun shooters but the genre pretty much died a while back. This is a cool way to bring it back and taking cover from enemy fire by actually moving your body to physically take cover is pretty rad. My only beef with this game is that sometimes the tracking didn't work so well. I don't know if that's because this was an early PSVR game, because I played it sitting down in a small room, or because the Move controllers were outdated from day one, but I found aiming down a scope too difficult to work with reliably and would instead just eyeball my targets most of the time. The game ends with some blatant sequel bait so I imagine they are working on a follow-up, perhaps for a PSVR 2? I sure hope so. I love the PSVR but I would love it a lot more if they got some better controllers with finger tracking and internal tracking for the headset like what the Oculus Quest uses. If Sony eventually unveils a new headset with more reliable, updated technology then I'll be preordering that thing on day one.
  17. This time it's Control but that's far from the only game that's guilty of it
  18. Geez It's like Brexit for energy. Sounds like it's working out about as well as Brexit too.
  19. Boy oh boy am I sick of seeing this from the Dems. The GOP has already proven they don't even pretend to care about bipartisanship and will ram through anything they can while they're holding the stick. The Dems are in power now and they should be flipping the GOP the bird and doing what needs to be done but almost none of them have any balls except for a small handful of people. Hell, I wouldn't even bother having the GOP in the room while policies are being worked on. Fuck 'em, the Dems don't owe them shit. Regarding that Texas thing, I actually have family down there right now and they are fucking miserable. If there is one silver lining in that shitshow it's that it provides a good window of opportunity for Biden to have the grid infrastructure updated and to see to it that it also facilitates the implementation of green energy sources. Getting Texas' grid to go clean would do wonders for expanding the idea to the rest of the country.
  20. This whole "screen turns red when you take damage" thing needs to piss off already. There are too many games where taking even half damage might as well be a death sentence because once the screen gets to a certain point you can't even see what you're doing anymore and whether or not you live is mostly going to come down to luck. Figure out some other way to display your health, god damn it. Even the version where the screen turns black and white is preferable because at least there you can usually still make out your surroundings.
  21. Aw man I hate when that crap happens. It drives my OCD absolutely nuts.
  22. Beat the Control DLC. It was okay, I guess. First one wasn't really anything special and it spends way too much time in the astral plane but it wasn't terrible. The extra little bit of intrigue between two certain characters/entities was kind of neat. Second DLC was short but much more interesting. The final boss was total bullshit, though. There is clearly a right way and a wrong way to fight it because when I tried to use anything but the spin gun the game just laughed at me. That is not good boss design.
  23. I understood the basic plot of the game eventually but I'm still in the dark about the lore. I got the "what" but not so much the "why" and the "how". I understand that this setting and the themes at play will inevitably mean some things are left up to interpretation but I feel like they relied on this a little too much. The whole ending chapter and the part after it made no sense to me and I eventually just gave up on trying to wrap my head around it and pushed forward to finish the game. You are not wrong that this game is less, as you put it, "TV-ified" than their earlier titles, but it's still in there and I'm starting to see that this just seems to be their trademark. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I thought it was okay here but didn't think it really added anything special. Except for the music video. That was pretty enjoyable, not gonna lie.
  24. Control Okay so I know everyone fawns over this game but for me it was a bit of a mixed bag. The psychic powers were a lot of fun to use and definitely the best part of the game and the presentation is unique, but everything else came up a bit short for me. The story is incomprehensible and even after finishing the game I barely understand anything that happened. Maybe the DLC clears things up a bit but I subscribe to the belief that a story should make sense without having to buy extra chapters to fill in the blanks. The environments are rather dull and not very exciting to explore with one exception near the end that was actually pretty cool. I like the idea of a transforming gun with different fire modes, but it feels like wasted potential when you can only have two modes active at a time. There aren't that many enemy types and the ones you get aren't all that interesting to fight. None of these issues were obnoxiously bad, but they do drag a potentially great game down into being just a "good" game, and while I still enjoyed it this is probably my least favorite Remedy game, at least that I've played. I never played Quantum Break. On a side note, it's super obvious that Remedy really wishes they were a tv studio rather than a game studio. It's almost kind of depressing. Having said that, there's still fun to be had here and anyone with PS+ might as well give it a whirl this month. I don't usually do numbered scores but if I were to give one to this game on a scale of 1 to 10 with 5 being considered average, I'd probably give this one a 7.
