Yeah, and now that I think about it, that's also exactly what happened with For the other theory, I suppose the misdirection thing is possible but I don't buy it. The entire idea just seems kind of stupid to me, for some reason, so I really hope it doesn't turn out to be true lol. Another thing I'm wondering is if I don't expect they will but I care about small details like that so I kinda hope they do.

Hahaha, I kinda wish I hadn't read this one because it seems like a pretty likely scenario. Especially considering how This one seems like more a stretch. At the very least, I'd be disappointed if it turned out to be true. Also, maybe I'm way off but

So, now that episode 5 came out last night, I finally got around to playing episode 4. And all I can say is: holy shit! Seriously, what in the goddamned hell?! That fucking cliffhanger, man! Never saw it coming, although looking back I kinda feel like I should have. A part of me regrets waiting this long to play it because, unlike most people, I actually love cliffhanger endings and the anticipation is part of the fun for me. But the other part is so fucking glad I don't have to wait 2-3 months for the conclusion! Most likely going to play it tonight.

The third one is a PSP exclusive that was never localized, so it's not too surprising that you wouldn't have heard of it. Apparently it's pretty good, or at least better than the second one. I'm still hoping that the success of the PC version has caused Sega to come around and finally localize and port it along with VC2, but that's probably not happening. Besides, their PC port strategy has been kinda weird so far. I mean, VC came out of fucking nowhere and that was great, but was anyone asking for Sonic Lost Worlds or whatever the fuck it's called? No, people were asking for Vanquish and Bayonetta.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures. So, yeah, as expected, it's a bit of a weird one. It's a decent platformer but not one I'd necessarily recommend to anyone that's not into AVGN. Pretty much everything is a direct reference to a joke or character from the show, so someone unfamiliar with it would get very little out of it. The "license" on its own isn't really enough to carry the entire game and the game itself isn't quite unique or special enough to recommend on its own merit either. But when you put the two together, it's actually kind of alright. For the most part, it was much easier than I expected. I blasted through almost all the levels in only a couple hours. I played on normal difficulty, which means 30 lives. So even though you inevitably die a lot, you can usually make it to the boss with enough lives left to figure out his pattern and beat him. And even if you don't, since the difficulty is all about bullshit patterns and beginner traps, you can usually beat the level again fairly easily and make it to the boss with almost all of your lives on a second run. There's a bit of a difficulty spike on the 8th level but it's nothing that can't be done after 2-3 runs. Then you unlock the final level and holy shit, it is one of the most frustrating bullshit experience I've played through in a long time. That's obviously what they were going for, so mission accomplished, I guess. On my first run, I lost almost all of my lives on the first fucking platforming bit. It took me a good 2-3 runs (as in burning through all 30 lives) to even get to a place where I could reliably make it to the boss (using about half of my lives in the process) and the boss itself somehow took the bullshit to another level entirely. For a while, I actually didn't think I had the skills to ever beat him. Just like everything else, he's all about bullshit patterns but he switches it up like 4 times, which leaves you very little room to adapt. The boss fight alone forced me to replay the final level so much that by the time I finally managed to beat him I could get through the level pretty easily and using less than 10 lives. If it wasn't for that final level, this would've been a 3 hours long game for me. Ultimately, it ended up taking me almost 8 hours to finally beat it. Overall, I kinda want to say I enjoyed it. I'll certainly check out the sequel when it comes out. But if you rage at games easily, you should probably skip it. If you like hard games and AVGN, though, it's worth a look.

I've been rewatching the AVGN eps from the start lately and as a result I felt like finally giving the game a shot. I knew it went on sale fairly regularly so I checked Steam on a whim and, sure enough, 60% off. I've only managed to beat one level so far but I can already tell it's going to be a weird one. It seems like a pretty decent side-scrolling platformer. I mean, at the very least it's competently designed. But it's also intentionally going for that "Bullshit!" kind of old-school difficulty AVGN always rants about, with stuff like obnoxious enemy placement and flight patterns, disappearing platforms and whatnot. That seems like a pretty delicate balance to maintain, so it'll be interesting to see if the entire game pulls it off as well as the first level did.

It's... it's over. I'm finally done. I can play other games again. I... I'm free!

Star Wars: Battlefront Early Access Beta Codes
toxicitizen replied to Thursday Next's topic in Multi-Platform Games
Grabbed the last PC code. Thanks, man! -
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA Holy shit, they really are desperate to milk every last bit of cash they possibly can out of this game. This is just fucking ridiculous.

It couldn't possibly have a worse story than MGSV so I, for one, am more than ready to...
-
Good question! Guess we'll find out when they re-reveal it at E3 2020!

Oh, I somehow didn't realize that the October date was one more month later than usual. Then again, I still haven't played Episode 4... Been meaning to play it for the past couple weeks but between homework piling up and MGSV taking every second of free time I have, I haven't managed to get around to it yet. I really should just ignore MGSV for one evening and get it done. Anyway, briefly scrolled up and nope! Getting the hell back out of this thread until I'm up to date! The ending of Ep 3 was a complete surprise even though I played it like a month late and it was awesome. So I'm not risking spoiling the next one!

If an interface mod is at all possible, then I'm sure someone will get around to it. There's one for FFIII and it's a massive improvement.

Yeah, I kept hearing that the new sprites were awful in this and the FFVI mobile release but I'm just not seeing it. The character sprites do look a bit off, I guess, but I think the monsters and backgrounds look gorgeous. I'll take this over the ugly 3D of the FFIV remake any day. The only thing that actually bothers me is that bulky touch screen interface. I kinda wish they'd redesigned it for the PC release. Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you. Somehow never played FFV and I intend to do it with this version at some point. It's pretty cool to see these games finally hit Steam, even if it's just the mobile ports. FFVI, i.e. the best of the entire series, is probably coming next. Really looking forward to that one. Also, once they're done porting the FF series I really hope they start porting Dragon Quest next. DQ I through like VI or VII are already out on mobile in NA. Would be such a waste to not put them on Steam.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m14BLLIvROU Really loving how it looks. Seems like a massive improvement in presentation both in the dungeons and in the town exploration stuff. Oh and, to no one's surprise, delayed to summer 2016. The best part is that until very recently they were still adamant about the whole "coming in 2015" thing. Lol.

Pacific Rim 2 indefinitely postponed. I kinda want to say "and nothing of value was lost" but man, I feel bad for Del Toro at this point. Dude is crazy talented but he can't seem to catch a break... :/

You totally should, bagels are delicious! Also, As for Kiefer, I still think casting him was a mistake but that's on Kojima, not Kiefer. The actual performance was fine. Although it's kind of ridiculous that even after like 9 seasons of 24 the guy still seems to struggle with the pronunciation of the word nuclear. I think the biggest issue for me was that I'm a huge fan of both MGS and 24. So it was actually worse than in Splinter Cell Blacklist where I simply didn't buy for one second that it was Sam Fisher. This time, all I could hear was Jack Bauer whenever Snake talked (especially whenever "nucular" happened). Hayter may sound cheesy but he IS Snake. For better and for worse.

More like a major plot thread is left completely unresolved. Also the true ending is a complete joke. And so is the so-called main plot of the game. Basically, Cowboy was probably dropped on his head as a child!

Why do you restart? I mean, I get why, I'm pretty obsessive about ghosting in stealth games. But side ops aren't ranked so there's no downside to screwing up. They're like dumb little missions with no consequences so they're the perfect place to experiment with new tactics. Plus, adapting to a screw up is often when the gameplay gets to shine the most.

Coming November 10th. I see I said the same thing when I posted the last trailer but man, this one feels like it came much faster than HotS. My anticipation and excitement for the series being higher at the time probably had something to do with it. I haven't really paid much attention to SC2 the past couple years. Not sure if I'll be getting this one at launch, though. I definitely want to play it but I might hold off a bit if I don't have the time/desire to play it right away. Although, now that XCOM 2 has been bumped to 2016, I'm not sure what else there is for me in Nov.

Checkmate consoles. PC wins again. (It's the same scene Cowboy posted two posts up)

The tone of your initial reply came across pretty much the same way as those trolling posts you're describing, to be honest. It might be infamous for it but that doesn't mean some people don't enjoy it anyway. Nothing confusing about that. Ever heard of b-movies? Besides, the only one that's truly nonsensical is MGS4 and that's mostly because Kojima was trying to wrap everything up and basically went "Fuck consistency!", even going so far as to retcon the entire metanarrative of MGS2. MGS 1 through 3 all have perfectly fine and comprehensible cheesy sci-fi action movie stories. Certainly better than what most video games tend to have, even to this day. I mean, it's fine if you're not into it and they're convoluted for sure but they're hardly nonsensical. Were you one of those people who thought Inception was horribly confusing? Fair enough but I don't see how my original comment could've come across that way. I wasn't telling him he's not allowed to have an opinion. But if you're going to criticize something without having fully experienced it for yourself then you should be prepared to be told you have no idea what you're talking about. It's fine if you play MGS only for the gameplay but don't act like everyone is the same. Most hardcore MGS fans are in it for the story as much (if not more) as anything else. And considering how story-focused the series is there's no ground to claim that's an unexpected or invalid way to be invested in the series. Besides, it's not like the plot is the only thing to care about here. At this point it's as much about the characters as it is about the plot.
-
The TL;DR here is that it's an amazing game but an awful Metal Gear. It's definitely a divisive one.
-
Lol. Are you for real? I was initially only responding to Goh's usual weak-ass trolling attempts. You're the one who jumped in with the unnecessary snide remarks when all I did was point out that only having played a single MGS game didn't put him in the best position to criticize someone for being invested in the story. Which, I dunno, seems perfectly reasonable to me? Especially given that my disappointment with TPP's story was almost immediately met with "peepul carr bout MGS story?!? lOl!11!"
