  1. So, Mass Effect 2 for PS3 runs on the Mass Effect 3 engine it seems? http://www.examiner.com/video-game-news-in-national/bioware-using-mass-effect-3-engine-for-playstation-3-version-of-mass-effect-2 edit: I don't now for everyone else, but when I follow the above link, there's a pop-up on the side that hilariously links to an old article from february 2010 titled "BioWare dismisses Mass Effect 2 Playstation 3 port rumors" Also, comparison vid with the 360 version. http://www.ign.com/videos/2010/12/16/mass-effect-2-meeting-jacob?objectid=14235018 It really does look better to me.
  2. Played as a soldier in ME1, but switched to Vanguard for ME2. This video is what made me want to switch Biotic Charge turned out to be both incredibly useful and very badass! Also, a friend of mine recently upgraded his PC and has been playing through ME1 and 2, and he keeps complaining about the Husks being a huge pain in his ass. That made me remember how easy they were to deal with in ME2 thanks to Biotic Throw. Once maxed out they rarely, if ever, reached me. B)
  3. Quite a few. Bolded ones are my top favorites. Off the air: 24 (season 1 to 5 were pure awesome, beyond that only season 7 was really good) Arrested Development Battlestar Galactica (was a bit shit in its second half, but the first two seasons were amazing) Buffy/Angel Firefly Frasier Lost Still running: 30 Rock American Dad (family guy has gone to hell and cleveland show is seriously retarded, but this one just keeps getting better and better) Big Bang Theory Breaking Bad (Best. Show. Ever. Period.) Chuck Dexter Glee (SHUT UP!) How I Met Your Mother It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia The Office (used to be great, merely good nowadays) Parks And Recreation (season 2 was the funniest show on tv last year, in my opinion) South Park Stuff I used to watch but stopped for no good reason: Burn Notice Doctor Who (really need to catch up on this. last I watched I was about halfway through Tennant's last season ) Fringe (loved season 1 but for some reason haven't started season 2 yet) House M.D. Pretty sure I'm forgetting a bunch but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.
  4. Hahaha video was pretty funny. I can imagine he was probably legitimately scared but was exaggerating his reactions since he had an "audience". I tried the first Penumbra game a while back and it's actually pretty creepy. I remember at one point I hid behind a crate not because the game told me to but because I was genuinely afraid about a noise I'd just heard and was in no hurry to find out what was around that next corner I debated grabbing Amnesia last week-end when it was 50% off on Steam, but figured it would probably be on sale again before I ever got around to playing it.
  5. Man, tried Just Cause 2 earlier and it's pretty damn crazy! I played the demo when it came out, and based on it I knew the gameplay mechanics were pretty solid, but the demo didn't do much to really show that. The opening missions of the full game, on the other hand, are simply insane. I cannot understand why that first mission was not the demo. Would've been much better. It teaches you how to use your two main tools (grappling hook and parachute) but also gives you a taste of the story and features a pretty epic set piece. Instead they released a demo that just drops you in a small area of the sandbox and basically tells you "Here's some shit you can destroy. You got 20mins."
  6. Probably the best show I ever watched. Seriously. No hyperbole. It's a bit of a slow burner, though. But the more you watch, the more you need to watch. And the payoff is pretty much always worth it. In my opinion it just gets better every single season. I can't wait for season 4!
  7. Hahahaha Getting pissed off at a country irl because they were the bad guys in a game you played is pretty much the most retarded thing ever.
  8. Thor is a character I know very little of, but the trailer was pretty cool. I might not see it in theaters, but I'm curious.
  9. Hahaha, damn that sucks. McKay is one of my fav character in any show ever.
  10. What the hell.. tried to edit my post and it double posted? Someone please delete this one...
  11. Oh man, it's been years since I watched any new StarGate material. Love the original movie. I got the first bluray release of it and am actually considering getting the newer one since the first one is pretty uneven. Some footage looks amazing ( like when they're out in the desert) and some looks pretty shit and grainy as hell (mostly darker scenes inside temples and such). At one point I owned the first three seasons of SG-1 on DVD. Always meant to watch the rest of it, but it's such a long show that I never got around to it. Atlantis, I loved too. Especially how some episodes really felt like they belonged in some more hard sci-fi series like Star Trek. Again, never watched until the end. Finally, I have yet to watch a single episode of StarGate Universe, though I keep hearing good things about it. I'm a bit hesitant to start it without having properly watched the other shows, though. :/
  12. Well then you just missed a good chance then. Last week ( or week-end, not really sure anymore ) there was an event on Direct2Drive where you could get 20% off anything by using the promo code HOHOHO. Now it's over though. I don't normally use D2D as I prefer to have all my games on Steam, but sometimes it can be pretty sweet to get good deals on games that you have to register on Steam anyway. When I pre-ordered Black Ops they offered a pre-load, but for Civ V they don't even provide data to download. When I click to "download" the game it just brings up a page with a cd-key and instructions on how to register it on Steam. Picked up JC2 as well! It's done downloading now, can't wait to try it later! I've been wanting to play it for a while now.
  13. Judging from what little gameplay footage I've seen, I expect it'll be pretty much like every other Telltale game. i.e. walk around, pick up stuff to use later and find out new information/what you're supposed to do through conversations.
  14. Haven't played Strong Bad either but based on Telltale's other games and the few cartoons I've seen, it should be worth a few laughs. I'm hoping it gets a nice discount on Steam over the holidays.
  15. I'm definitely interested in this. Saw some "leaked" gameplay footage a while back and I got a kind of Crysis vibe from it. Probably the near-future sci-fi aspect of it, I guess. Also Koreans, probably. This is actually one of the top 5 games on my Steam wishlist in case, by some miracle, I happen to win one of the sweepstakes.
  16. So, Telltale Games are a pretty good dev if you're into adventure PC games. I haven't played their Sam & Max seasons yet, but I definitely plan to. I've recently been playing Tales of Monkey Island, and it's pretty damn good. But none of their games are as exciting to me as their next one. Back To The Future is one of those movie trilogies I've been watching and rewatching since I was kid. I just never get sick of it. And every single time I finish the third one, I always get kinda sad that I don't get to see what happens next. Now, thanks to Telltale, that childhood wish will finally be fulfilled later this month! I'm pre-ordering this the second it shows up on Steam! Anyway, this is mainly about anticipation for the BTTF game, but feel free to discuss anything Telltale in here.
  17. I would imagine it (Civ V) will be on sale during the proper holiday sale (which is believed to begin on the 20th), but I wouldn't expect anything more than 25% off, to be honest, since it's still pretty new. I still can't believe I actually got it for free on D2D B)
  18. New set of objectives for the treasure hunt includes one for Just Cause 2, which just happens to be 75% off. That's one thing off my holiday shopping list.
  19. Indeed, maternal/cutlery relations are highly offensive to me. Stop it at once!
  20. Dammit! For a second there I seriously hated myself for not thinking of posting the Ecstasy of Gold clip from The Good, The Bad And The Ugly first. But then i clicked to watch it and got some bullshit about MGM blocking it in my country over copyrights crap and it pissed me off :'( ... And yes, I AM too lazy to get up, grab the DVD from the shelf and put it on. Here's something to make up for it, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twtvr4e7O2M
  21. Yeah, 2011 looks like it's going to hurt my wallet. I'll separate them by platform of choice: PS3: Batman: Arkham City Dead Space 2 Killzone 3 inFAMOUS 2 (not entirely sure this one's for 2011 though..) Resistance 3 Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception next Assassin's Creed (assuming it's not a handheld title) PC: Crysis 2 Portal 2 Deus Ex: Human Revolution The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Mass Effect 3 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim obligatory november COD release Bulletstorm And I'm sure I forgot a few.
