  1. Hahahaha, even if you could, considering what the biotic's job is, that would kinda take out the "mission" out of "suicide mission".
  2. Well the thing is I don't like having my games split up between different websites. At least with Steam I have them all in one place, and if I have to pay a few more bucks for that convenience, then so be it. Plus, the Steam application is a more direct way to access them than having to go to a website. But yeah, most Telltale stuff is 50% off on Steam right now. I'll probably hold off on buying anything for now, though. They might get better discounts before the holidays are over. Anyway, played BTTF Episode 1 for about two hours so far and it's just so awesome When I was playing Tales of Monkey Island ( which I still haven't finished... ) I usually played the episodes in one sitting, but I can't bring myself to do that with BTTF considering the next episode is over a month away edit: wow... that was.. short The episode barely lasted 3 hours. It was awesome from start to finish but it went by so quickly. The Monkey Island ones would last me on average 4-5 hours each, so I expected something slightly longer. And the next one won't be coming until february :'( I hope they won't all be this short.
  3. For some reason this really made me laugh
  4. Hmm, quite a few I've never heard of in there. I'll have to check those out. These days I mostly read Penny-Arcade and ...ugh.. CAD.... It's not funny and I have no idea why I still read it but I just keep checking back every few weeks to catch up... It's like watching a car crash, I guess.. It horrifies you yet.. you just can't look away. It might also be because it's the first web comic I discovered. Been reading it for so long I just don't know how to stop :'( Oh and Virtual Shackles isn't bad at all. I actually discovered that one through Kotaku's comic posts. Other than that, I read and loved some PVP, Little Gamers and XKCD, but could never bring myself to read through their enormous archives, so I'm not up to date on them.
  5. I just started playing it on PS3 and I'm not disappointed. I kept hearing that it was kind of a mix between The Legend of Zelda and God of War. But so far I'm maybe 3-4 hours in and it's definitely more God of War than Zelda. As a fan of Zelda who doesn't want a Wii and was looking for a fix, that was a bit disappointing. But the game is still pretty good so far and I hear it gets better later on, so yay. Though it's one of those games I personally can't imagine playing without a controller. And I'm usually more of a PC gamer.
  6. I never had any interest in facebook games ( or even facebook for that matter, I had disabled my account a while back) but I found myself "forced" to play the Assassin's Creed game Project Legacy when I realized it unlocked a bunch of stuff in AC: BroHood. I guess it was kinda "fun" there for a while, but now that I'm basically done with it, I barely touch it anymore.
  7. FIX THAT! Buy the DVDs, torrent them, go to the video store, I don't care! But you MUST see them ! Seriously though, without nostalgia goggles, I'm not really sure how the movies would hold up nowadays. I can't help but think that they're brilliant and I know them by heart, but for someone watching them for the first time now? Who knows. Anyway, it's out on Steam! I must go get it! I'm also strongly considering getting Strong Bad for 15$ and the first two seasons of Sam & Max for 30$.
  8. Uh... what's this I'm hearing about a Jurassic Park game?! http://www.telltalegames.com/nbcuni Seems the deal with Universal didn't only include the BTTF license! How have I not heard of this until now?! This is glorious!
  9. Well I played up until the tribal part and so far I like it. Simple but fun. Also, the creator creator actually impressed me. I'd never messed around with it so I was surprised to see how quickly my creature changed in just a few clicks. I can see myself messing around in there a lot, so I grabbed the Creepy & Cute pack as well.
  10. You, good sir, have FANTASTIC tastes in movies. Consider these FLD approved. I can't wait to see Source Code, the next film from Duncan Jones, who wrote and directed Moon.
  11. Hate double posting, but I had more, so consider this to be post 1 part 2 Others are just random and/or cruel And since this is a gaming forum... Sadly I think the guy who did these stopped making new ones a few years back Those are all from the Perry Bible Fellowship, and more can be found here http://www.pbfcomics.com/ But feel free to use this thread to discuss/post any other web comics you like.
  12. I was going through my photobucket earlier to see what I could delete. It was the first time I'd ever done some "cleaning" in there since I registered years ago and I found some little gems. Those are from a comic called The Perry Bible Fellowship and I think they're just about the most hilarious comics I've ever seen. They are pretty much all good, but I do have a soft spot for the ones that include dinosaurs Some turn random stuff into humanoid beings and, well... see for yourselves... Hmm, seems there's a limit to how many can be posted in a single post.
  13. Yeah, I was definitely tense, but it wasn't scary. For example, I started playing the first Penumbra game once and found myself hiding behind crates because I didn't want to see what had just made that noise around the next corner It was the first time I was genuinely afraid to proceed in a game. The first Silent Hill also came pretty close to that when I played it last year. The atmosphere is so goddamned creepy that it feels like the town itself is alive and out to get you. In some areas, I found the sections without any enemies to shoot to be scarier than when I was fighting or running away.
  14. Hahaha the space stage has to be the most divisive of them all. I either hear that it's the most boring part of the game, or that it's the best and that everything else is worth playing just to get to it.
  15. Latest purchases. All of this for less than a full priced game would cost. God I love Steam so damn much
  16. Hahahahaha wow, no way any screen name origin story can ever top Yarfunkle's. That was classic. Mine is simple. When I registered my first email address, I used for screen name a reference to something I was a fan of at the time. Over the years I stopped being a fan of it and eventually got really sick of the name. The solution? Disemvowelling. FLD is that same name but without the vowels. At one point I also came up with Toxicitizen (which is a play on the System of a Down song/album title "Toxicity") when creating a new primary email address, but I only use it for game related stuff like Steam or PSN now. It's literally never taken, which makes me feel both original and creative.
  17. Forgot to mention it in my previous post, but it feels like the psychological aspect of it could really add to the scares. First one had a great atsmophere and sound design, but wasn't really that scary. When playing the demo,
  18. Yeah, I really don't expect something very in-depth. But I keep hearing that even though every aspect of the game is very basic, that the game as a whole is more than the sum of its parts. Guess I'll find out in 30mins.
  19. It's out?! But .. but, but.. it's not on Steeeeaaaamm :'( First episode is supposed to be free, though, right? I remember reading somewhere it would be free, but it doesn't seem to be the case... damnit! Kinda sucks that there aren't any great deals on Steam for Telltale games... One of today's deals is Tales of Monkey Island for 17.49$ and I paid 5 bucks for it not even two months ago. Wait, just checked on Steam and it seems there are now some deals. On the first day of the sale everything except the holiday pack was full priced (and the holiday pack didn't even include S&M season 1...), but now Strong Bad is 15$ and a pack for S&M season 1 and 2 is 30$. Seemed crazy that Strong Bad was 30$... the whole seasons costs 15$ on PSN and it came out like yesterday.
  20. Oh well, I grabbed the base game for 7.50$. It's installing right now. I'll try to think of it as an expensive demo I'll take a break from Metro 2033 and play it for a few hours tonight. If I really like it, I might grab the expansions. Buying separately costs a penny more than the bundle... so yeah, I think I'll survive. If it's meh, I'll only have wasted like 8 bucks. So no big loss there. I'm really tempted to grab Bully as well. The PC version used to be insanely broken, but I heard it's been patched and works fine now. I own the PS2 version and completed it years ago, but it might be worth 4$ to see the extra content in the scholarship edition. I remember liking the game a lot.
  21. You mean like voice chat isn't working? Or voices don't play in the single-player campaign? If the latter, talk about an experience-ruining bug!
  22. Well 20 is for the complete pack. I could get the base game alone for like 7.50$... But I figured if I do get it I might as well get the whole package while it's so cheap.
  23. Have any of you guys played Spore and if so would you recommend it? The base game and both expansions are all 75% off (bringing the complete pack from 80$ to a very reasonable 20$) but I'm really on the fence. I feel like I'm long overdue to try it. I've only ever seen people playing it, and even then not for very long. I never experienced the full game experience for myself and having recently gotten into Civilization, I feel like I might enjoy it (though I realize it's really nothing like Civ in terms of gameplay, but there are some basic similarities in general).
  24. You know, now that you mention it, there was one time when enemies were coming at me from behind and I turned around and it seemed like Isaac had turned more quickly than he used to, but it was very subtle so I didn't pay that much attention to it.
