  1. I think exploration is probably the hardest one to really enjoy. Combat is good but it always feels without context. I'm hoping this powerplay update will change all of that.
  2. So far, it reminds me of the first week I had with RDR. I didn't care what I was doing as long as I could experience the woods. I take my time, do one quest at a time as much as I can, talk to the NPC's and sometimes just stare at the sunset. This game has the best atmosphere since RDR. I also love how poor I am. I can't buy shit so I spend a lot of time hunting down herbs, and the fact that I haven't out leveled 6 wolves just yet its still fairly exciting. I hope that the weaker creatures are still a challenge later in the game. I can fight them but its a challenge and especially when they get numbers on me. I really hope bethesda pays attention, their worlds are crafted differently but they could stand to learn a lesson or two from the atmosphere, world and NPCs. At one point I had some drowners jump out of the bog and they ignored me so I followed them and saw that they went to the nearest town to attack in which I saved the town. I got nothing in return but it was just something I decided to intervene. I know its not the Witcher way, but innocent NPC lives were at stake!
  3. Avengers 2! It was great. I think they tried to do a bit too much as the movie just felt busy the entire time. I almost wish they had set up the idea and possibly the creation of Ultron in another movie and then I feel the movie would actually have a small amount of room to breathe. Still good though I also saw Mad Max... Wow. That might be one of the best action movies to have come out in a very long time. The story was straight forward, but the character progression was so well done and the action sequences were just fun to watch. This movie goes to show you don't need an overly complicated plot to create a fantastic movie.
  4. Why does The Joker drive a sports car? He should have a beater with rusted parts falling off and a massively loud engine or an ice cream truck. That may be a little too much like Sweet Tooth, but if the oversized clown shoe fits....
  5. The game will test your patience. If you get bored, mix it up. Go to a more popular station and start trading or bounty hunting. I'm flying a cobra that is almost 100% upgraded, so I'll swap out components to trade or bounty hunting or even conflict zones just based on how I'm feeling. Exploration is a very solo experience, but its also very profitable. Good luck commander!
  6. Got my first speeding ticket ever today. Not happy about it, but I guess 12 years driving with no speeding ticket aint a bad record.

I think I got my first speeding ticket when I was 16. Got lost on my way home from a friend's house and panicked.

I got a speeding ticket when I was 16, driving to school, between my house and the school there was a school zone (reduces limit to 20 mph from 30 mph) which was nowhere near any school and no one ever slowed down for. Well, I didn't slow down either, and I got got.

  7. Will they make cymbals actually important on their drums? Rockband 3 was pretty good, but nobody I knew had all cymbals working, so most people just ignored them and made it kind of a bust.
  8. It can be a long road to get the hang of the many many systems in the game. Good luck. Chances are you're going to start off loving the complication, then get frustrated when you try to do something to earn any amount of money, then you'll slow down and really get a good feel of the game. After that its a rabbit hole of figuring out the different attachments and min/maxing your ship to fit your needs. The best part is that there is no "right way" to play the game, so its all trial and error. Enjoy! If you need a friend to play along with, you may find me flying around from time to tome. Add me, my tag is CMDR Brax Lightsphere
  9. There are not enough GREAT racing games on the PC. I want to play something like Forza Horizon 2 without buying an Xbox One

Not really a racing guy so I have no idea what the buzz around it is like, but Project CARS might be of interest to you.

  10. http://www.engadget.com/2015/04/28/x-wing-tie-fighter-reach-steam/?ncid=rss_truncated X-wing, Tie Fighter, X-wing vs Tie Fighter, and (the best and woefully under appreciated) X-wing Alliance are available on Steam today.
  11. I decided to stay off Facebook for a while. Too many people are throwing stones at this whole riot thing in Baltimore and nobody seems to be really discussing what is actually going on. Riots are not the answer, but what do you do when peaceful protests are ignored? People looting stores and damaging property aren't always doing it in the name of their cause, but when ones cause is being seemingly ignored people get frustrated and mob mentality is hard to stop once it gets rolling. Either way, I'm unhappy. I'm unhappy that people feel the need to riot, I'm unhappy that when people do all I hear from disconnected people all across the country stating "nobody is talking about black on black violence!" The problem is people are talking about the recent police on black violence, not black on black violence. I'm not a political activist, and I used to like to stay neutral on most subjects but I sure wish that everybody would stop arguing over each other and just listen to another human beings concerns. If a certain populace of people believe that they are being targeted by the authorities (not to mention actual video evidence in many cases of this) we shouldn't argue with them about what they should be concerned with instead! We should take their complaints to heart and work on a solution to make them feel less alienated. Ignoring their concerns only leads to aggravation and enough aggravation leads to people getting pissed off enough to smash a window. Once that window is smashed its a different game.
  12. I just finished re-watching the movies in Machete Order. I have recommended it to everyone who hasn't seen the series but I've never actually watched the movies in that order my self. I can quote the movies in my sleep so I figured I know whats best and Machete Order seems to be the superior way to enjoy the prequels and the original series. I don't know if I can recommend it to anyone who isn't that interested in the Star Wars lore now that I've watched it. Sure I'm enjoying watching the tension between Vader and Luke grow as we learn about how Anakin turned to the dark side, but after watching IV, V, II, III, VI it really shows how much the prequel trilogy missed the mark of the original trilogy. I know everybody has shared their ideas on how to make the prequel trilogy better but I have a hand full of complaints that I've been wanting to tell anyone who would be interested. 1) Why is the story about Anakin's fall to the dark side? We know that he becomes Vader, why cant the movies focus on how Obi-Wan failed Anakin and as a result destroying the Republic? Anakin turning to Vader isn't a plot twist, neither is Palpatine becoming the emperor. We know that, why can't we learn about the complication that forced Obi-Wan and Owen tension. 2) Speaking of Obi-Wan and Owen, why does Anakin have to be from Tatooine? In the original movie, Luke says "If there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from." I've always interpreted this as Owen (and also Obi-Wan) as running as far away from the Empire as possible. They are so far out of the central powers they are on the fringe with the villain and scum of the universe because they are so afraid of the Empire and Vader. Now that theory doesn't make sense, if Anakin is from Tatooine then why on earth would they hide on his home planet? 3) I hated all of Lucas' winking and nodding every time he referenced a character from the original trilogy. Oh you know Jabba the Hutt? Well his whole family is in this movie! You know Boba Fett, here's someone exactly like him! Chewbacca? Yeah hes in it too! Look everybody it's Star Wars! pffft (that is an attempt to make fart noises). Ultimately the entire prequel trilogy failed because it was an attempt to explain the original trilogy rather than creating a new story with new locations and new characters that lead us to the final sequence of Obi-Wan passing the torch to Luke... Very much the way The Force Awakens is the original cast passing the torch to the new cast. Thats my feelings on it. I'm sure many of us could go on and on and on about what is wrong with the prequel movies, but having just finished the entire series (san's episode I) its fresh on my mind.
  13. So I made the decision Sunday to buy it, downloaded it all night and played it the next day. Few things have popped up in my head. 1) This game looks beautiful! 2) First person is the only way to play GTA now 3) Look at all of these new cars in traffic! I see a lot of the Citroen SM 4) I spent a lot of time in director mode. Its pretty robust although I haven't found a way to cut and remove parts of clips, looks like its better off served filming 3 seconds at a time. 5) Weather! It really does look even better! The one lesson I learned playing this the second time around: turn off the map (unless street racing online, it will fuck you), play in first person, and just let the environment lead you. Its incredibly immersive. Well worth the wait. I actually feel like traffic is better online but still pretty barren when compared to single player. I wish we could use the insurance feature from online to add to cars in the single player though.
  14. I'm excited! I'll be honest, Episodes 1-3 kind of made me less excited for new movies. The way Lucas wrote those films makes certain tropes a requirement for Star Wars now, which means that we'll see a lot of new stuff but its all going to fall under these odd rules that didn't exist for 4-6. I hope this movie follows tropes from the original trilogy more than the ones we were introduced in the prequels. I'm leaning more towards exciting magical knights rather than boring diplomatic monks for the Jedi.
  15. I still haven't bought it yet, despite my excitement (I've been hooked on another game), has anyone who has the PC version try it out? My major interests are traffic and pedestrian traffic: Is it noticeably better than the PS3/360 version? How about online? I heard the PS4/Xbox One version had better traffic, but I hope the PC adds even more traffic. I think that was my biggest complaint of the PS3/360 version is that the city felt like it was under populated for something as sprawling as LA
  16. I haven't watched Daredevil yet (going to after my gf and I catch up with Arrow), but I really hope Iron Fist becomes part of the Netflix series.
  17. I use a flight stick and HOTAS, but you can use mouse and keyboard effectively (my buddy does that) or you can hook up with a 360 controller and it already has keymapping which you can change to your liking.
  18. Released on Steam a week ago, which has pumped up population tremendously. I have a friend who I finally convinced to buy and we just whip around every Tuesday night tearing shit up in our space ships. The player community has made this game more than what is in the digital package. There are player run factions such as CODE (a notorious pirate faction) and others who group together to protect their cargo from NPC pirates or worse, player pirates. I had the dreams of becoming a pirate, but as bounty hunting and smuggling seems to be doing me well I just keep at it pissing off some factions in the process.
  19. Ah. I'll still get it after I finish Original Sin and Wasteland. I'm loving the comeback of these old school RPGs.
  20. Probably going to get a lot of hate for this question... Is there controller support? It's not going to stop me from playing the game, but I would love to have controller support in some of these CRPGs.
  21. Elite: Dangerous has been scratching that itch for me lately. Released in December .
  22. Booted it up again this weekend, jumped in some PvP. So far I've found it to be tough to be any good at first, but most people seem to be very helpful in the non ranked games. I'll keep at it until I get too tired of it. How many years has it been now? 2 1/2 almost 3 years since release? I'm still loving this game and keep coming back to it.
  23. So probably everyone has heard, but it seems Windows 10 upgrade is available to even pirated versions (with some strings attached) http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/19/microsoft-windows-10-upgrade-policy/?ncid=rss_truncated&utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds I'm not really sure why this comes as a shock. Sure its a bold move, but if windows is going to go paid minor updates rather than a large new OS every so often (ala OSX), giving a free upgrade to a pirated copies of 7/8/what ever ensures that if they want to ensure a larger legitimate user base. Its not like they'll lose any money when they are already giving away free updates to anyone with 7/8 anyhow.
  24. I just finished season 5 on Netflix. Not really their strongest season, which is too bad cause I was really hoping for it to be good. Not bad though, more character growth this season than some of the previous season. I just wanted it to be more like this:
