If it makes you feel better, im not a huge metroid fan. I loved super metroid and fusion, but i always prefferred castlevania.

I jus realized that this topic is very similar to my online pet peeves topic......hmm...

Its weird, but i actually enjoy violent videogames now as an adult than i ever did as a kid. I was the one kid that wasnt impressed by mk in the nineties. I stuck to sf2. Mks violence just wasnt creative or fun in any way. Eternal champions had way better fatalities. nowadays i love dead space for many reasons, the creative gore being one of them. People make fun of god of war a lot, but the violence in that game feels great. Its not about how it looks or sounds, its about how it feels. Gow just has a great feel in its violence. Ripping off helios head just felt damn good. I dont know. I wish i could explain myself better.

People who buy overly expensive map packs. people who ONLY play japanese games and hate games from every other country. We have a few people like that on kotaku. Theyre all irritating.

I love satire, but just cause doesnt do it in a way that is remotely humorous. Theres absolutely nothing funny or witty about it. Its just bad. The main character is such a tool. I really dislike him.

They really should have made this game for the 3DS instead. It would have sold 3DS systems like crazy, not that Nintendo needs it. Just saying.

True story: I stopped believing in the Christian God (my parents are Episcopal) around the same time I stopped believing in Santa Claus. I never believed in santa claus really. Maybe its the way Mexican families do it or just my mexican family, but on christmas wed stay up all night partying. The adults would drink and talk and eat and the kids would blow up fireworks all night. We stayed up til 3 or 4 and sometimes til the next day. the gifts were already underneath the tree days before it was Xmas. We knew it was our parents who go us that stuff. I didnt think that was so bad. I grew up loving and respecting my mom and knowing she got me that stuff than being grateful to some man that didnt exist. I dont think thats a bad thing. If anything, it makes more sense. Maybe I was too rational when I was a kid. I guess i could have missed out on a lot of fun that way.

Its weird, but I always believed more in extraterrestrials than God. Since I was a kid. I put God up there with Santa Claus and the Easter bunny. Not real things, but symbols for good things. Except as I got older I saw Santa Claus as a creepy pedophile, the easter bunny as a creepy mutant, and God as just a....creep.

That's how I feel about that game too and have also just relented and bought it. I'm excited about the supposed zelda-style gameplay but am not into the metal-styling. Well youll be relieved to know that it plays a lot like zelda and mixes a little god of war in there. i liked it, but gave up after the first temp......errr...castle. its as good as zelda, but i just wasnt in a zelda mood. it seems the older i get the less patient i become to puzzles in games.

A lot of geniuses actually are crazy and have crazy beliefs. One doesnt relate to the other. Also finding a subject funny doesnt mean you stand behind it. Comedy is an art, like anything else. I myself really enjoy a good religion or racial joke, but im not even remotely racist. Then again, im not easily offended either because i take no sides. Everyone is a shithead as far as im concerned. Im as likely to be friends or enemies or to be killed or loved by a religious or nonreligious person equally. You can try to take a stance and have your beliefs, but were really all the fucking same. Only person who should care about your religion is yourself. No one else. Just dont bring up jesus and god in every single conversation and were cool. I think thats what annoys people. And its not just because its god, you just shouldnt be so repetitive. Imagine if i ended every conversation with "fuck your gay cunt, jesus" or "bro." Its fucking annoying to humanity in general, not just aetheists. Cut the shit and just be a good human being.

Im not digginh just cause 2. the grappling hook and parachute shit is amazing and feels great, but literally everything else about it sucks. the driving blows. the shooting blows. controlling the character blows. the main character blows. The voiceacting blows. the enemy ai blows. the game just does so much wrong. i need to get my money back or credit to buy something else.

I myself have always preffered 8-15 hour games. The good ones like dead space and resident evil 4 are so replayable that they pretty much equate to a fallout or dragon age game. At least in my mind. Fallout 3 and stuff like that is great, but i have to feel a certain way to play them. Shorter games are just always more polished in every way: gameplay, graphics, story, voiceacting, etc. The greatest games in the last 15 years are between 8-15 hours.

I wonder if publishers can tell if their games arent aaa. darksiders for example is a middle class game. Its a mix of god of war and zelda, but not nearly as good. It should have been 50 bucks on release day.

I liked Bioshock 2 a lot. It wasnt as good as the first, but it was damn excpetional and pretty much trumps it in gameplay.

Yeah, youre totally off about that. Its not about making preexisting games easier, its about making games that are easy at their core, like heavy rain. not every game has to be about high scores, achievements or difficulty levels. At this point in time a lot of games should be getting aaway from that. Maybe in 1996 i would be impressed by douchebags finishing ninja gaiden black on the hardest dificulty, but im not a teenager anymore and accomplishing that doesnt mean shit. Videogames are so rooted in childishness in every single way its ridiculous. This industry really doesnt want the change that it needs. if you want to reach out to everyone its not going to happen by making games easier or giving them motion/3d gimmicks, its about truly making games anyone can play. Some day publishers wont be happy from getting money from the same person each year with a sequel or a new game that plays the same and on that day theyre going to have actually take the time to figure out how to reach out to evryone or make less money. It just has to happen. So many people dont play games, its really sad and the refusal to let that happen by game creators and gamers themselves is even sadder.
