  1. This isnt an "innernet" pet peeve, just a pet peeve in general(maybe we should change the name of the thread), but Vegans need to get their shit straight. Just because you fold a leaf of lettuce and put asparagus and onions in it doesn't make it a "Vegan taco" and just because you put tomatoes and mushrooms on top of a slice of cactus doesnt make it a "Vegan pizza." Its just a salad, man. BTW I dont even know if the things I used as examples exist, but my point still stands.
  2. It's strange how the egg seems to resemble the banana ice cream a lot more than the banana ice cream you made. At least to me it does. You still can't go wrong with eggs or bananas though, no matter what they look like.
  3. I have/had mental problems. Otherwise, I think it's self explanatory - I like the film, the character in that film, and I like the character in MGS: Peace Walker.
  4. I was going to suggest the idea of a real Arkham City game. Where the city is as huge as a GTA game, but as detailed as Arkham City. I want it to be big enough where it actually warrants using the batmobile, batcycle, or batplane. But Im sure eventually a game like that will be made. Now that I think about it, I dont think theres ever been an open world game where you actually use a "weird" customized vehicle. Its always realistic cars, motorcycles, or helicopters. There arent any games where you drive a car that can drive up walls or shoot you out of the top before you crash. Something crazy like that...or like the first 2 Batman films basically. Maybe even a helicopter umbrella.

Are you being ironic? Because that trailer says that there's a Snoop Dogg stage. Not that he's playable.

I'm not sure that's what ironic means, Six.

It's a joke, man. Having Snoop Dogg as a playable character would make TOO MUCH sense.

  6. All of a sudden, Ill have to start taking this game more seriously. https://blog.us.play...ewest-employee/ Hello PlayStation, I’m Seth Killian. A few of you may know me as a familiar face in the world of fighting games, but I’m writing today to say that I’ve joined Sony as the lead game designer for the external group at the Sony’s Santa Monica Studio. I was excited to join Santa Monica Studio in particular because of the chance to work with some great individuals, but also because of the incredible range of projects they take on. If you head out of my office and turn right, you’ll run into the “God of War: Ascension” team. If you turn left, you’ll find the Giant Sparrow crew working on “The Unfinished Swan.” There are other amazing studios in the world, but nowhere else that I know where you can find that kind of diversity combined with such a deep commitment to greatness–which also happens to sum up what’s so exciting to me about Sony overall. The external group works with Sony’s outside studios — teams like Queasy Games (Sound Shapes), Fun Bits Interactive (Escape Plan), thatgamecompany (Flower, Journey), and… SuperBot Entertainment, makers of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale! Fighting games are very close to my heart, and as someone that’s spent much of my life with traditional fighters, All-Stars has been a great opportunity to take a step back and rethink fighting fundamentals from the ground up. The entire team was put together from scratch to create this game, and they are loaded with fighting game superstars (including some impressive tournament credentials–I’m not even the first EVO finalist to join the team!) who love great combat just as much as I do. All-Stars is also a total love-letter to Sony fans. From the characters, to their special moves, to the incredible level 3 supers, and the stages themselves, I’m not sure there’s ever been such a giant dose of fan-service in Sony history. Beyond great character designs or all the ingenious little ideas that make combat feel great, the real test of a great game to me is that “just *one* more game!” feeling. If it’s 3am and you have to work the next day, but you’ve still got the urge to play again, you know you’re doing something right. You only have to walk through SuperBot’s studio and see all the staff being scolded to stop playing their own game andget back to work to know that they’ve really got something special cooking. You don’t have to take my word for it, however–we’ll be taking All-Stars on the road and making sure you guys have plenty of opportunities to go hands-on, starting with PlayStation’s first official presence at EVO this weekend. More details soon. For everyone that’s already reached out, thank you so much for the kind welcome into PlayStation Nation, and for everyone else, I look forward to doing my absolute best to give PlayStation fans the great games they deserve. And another link. http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/7/2/3131017/capcoms-seth-killian-joins-sony-santa-monica-playstation-all-stars
  7. I have the opposite objection - calling a good story mode a FPS campaign is an insult to a good story mode. Outside of an FPS, Campaign just sounds stupid. People always wonder why other people hate stuff that doesn't affect them because they either dont use it or dont play it, but I guess this is an example. Its when things you DO use or play get changed because what's popular at the moment. Its very petty and childish, but it's just an example.
  8. That makes sense. A lot of people don't like the bubbles(which look more like pins to me) or the way theyre arranged. You CAN switch them around though, if you didnt know. As for the icon thing, is there an example of that? Because as far as I know, on my iphone, on my previous android phone, and on my PS3 and PSP the icon IS the program/game. Are you talking about Windows maybe? on Windows you can have a program installed, but you can delete the icon from the "dashboard". But thats the only example I know of. I cant say it bothers me. For Windows it makes sense because there are a billion programs available, but the Vita probably has less than 100. I think folders are more likely to happen than a Windows-like thing. And I totally agree about SOME of the pointless Live areas. I guess they just wanted it to be uniform.
  9. Whats so bad about it? Its just a bunch if icons, like the iPhone or Android phones. You press it and stuff opens. Did you want squares? As for the live area, it's not pointless. It has the manual, the updates, a link to go directly to the PS store for dlc, and the web search icons on it. If you scroll down it also has events that you and your friends have done in the same game. Theyre more easily accessible than opening the game and seeing you need to update it or going to the options menu to find the manual. Plus, you can leave 6 "Pages" open at any one time. The alternative would be an option to skip that screen the first time you open a new app or game, but I have a feeling that people would be going crazy looking for their manual or to see if there are any updates. BTW, now you and Jim Sterling have something in common, he also dislikes having to open a page to get into a game. Youre a monster now. Congratulations. I dont know who is going to have to break this to your family now. But I will pray for them. On another note, I have a big pet peeve for new adoptions of old things. Before something was called a "dashboard", It was a UI. Before it was a "campaign", it was single player or story mode. I hate that those things have been changed for some reason.
  10. My favorite - fried stuff with cheese!

there's apparently a restaurant saying that if you put cheese and bacon on it, people will buy it.

    3. TheRevanchist

      TheRevanchist

That is why I want potato skins put back onto the appetizer menu. They have been discrimanted against for their lovely bacony, cheesy flavor. That's just not right in my book.

  11. Anyone else have trouble with the challenges that require to lift things and throw them? I am awful at them. The stuff I grab sometimes will crash into other stuff or into the floor. I do that a lot. Also, did anyone here just randomly find those 2 ghost people or did you look it up in a guide?
  12. The New Moon soundtrack was actually pretty good. The movie sucked, but there's no shame in liking that soundtrack. They bought some good bands to be on it.
  13. But it did help sales of the 360 quite a bit, which I think was the main purpose, moreso than trying to truly incorporate a new way of control. And to be honest, after this(Kinect actually selling a buttload) i am more than confident that MS can completely win over people again with a new version of this for their next console by making the same promises they did the first time. Their marketing approach is really something else, for better or for worse. I frankly think theyre unbeatable when it comes to selling shit to people. I don't think Nintendo or Sony could have ever made Kinect a success the way MS did.
  14. It just cant do what people always wanted to do with technology like this. Like, the crazy stuff we imagined this kind of technology could do, this thing cant do it. Its cool if people read to you or tell you what it's capabilities are, but once you actually try it or see someone else do it, you realize how hopeless it is in it's current state. You might as well strap on Wiimotes to your arms and legs and fake it.
  15. Well, nothing really went wrong with Kinect since it sold a lot. Like, a lot. It sold so much that God felt that slap on is face as we took a shit on humanity. I think its a big fucking failure as the revolutionary new thing it was supposed to be. At least to the brainwashed or to the ones with a naive imagination. Outside of that Milo movie, it never even tried to outdo itself in any way either. What people got from it was something that was believable. No game ever came out where people were thinking, "Oh my god, how is this possible!? This is the future!" What you got at launch is what you got a month ago. Theres a few tweaks here and there, but it's still the same old thing. It failed the "core", but it was never really meant for the "core" either. If that's what MS said and you believed them, then that's really your fault. And don't throw in the word "potential." I'm sick of it. Shit, I have "potential." Give ME money. My cats have potential too. Give them money too.
  16. This looks a lot better than the other trailers Ive seen. its a lot brighter and less cluttered. Also, Big Daddy and Parappa level 3 special moves. Theyre pretty cool.
  17. I don't really have guilty pleasures. I don't feel guilty about anything I like. Don't get me wrong, I understand what I SHOULD be embarrassed by, but Im not. For example, I LOVE "Kiss Me" By Sixpence None The Richer. It's my understanding that people who like that song are embarrassed to like it. I can see why, it's very girly and it's a definite one hit wonder with no real kind of profound meaning. But so what? It sounds good to me. My earholes are pleased when I hear it. Also - finger in the ass during sex. Im not gay, but if it feels good, why should I or anyone else be embarrassed? It is what it is. The heart wants what it wants, man. A finger in the ass. But what about things we are embarrassed to hear, but we still like hearing them because we like to make fun of it? I Like Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness," just so I can mock the beginning of it. So I DO like to listen to it, but it's only to make fun of how bad a song it is. Does that count? I get pleasure, but not really because I like it on it's own merits. I created a reason to like it on my own really. But I would have never arrived at that conclusion if the song hadnt been sung or written that way first. Chicken or the egg scenario really. I have a ringtone loop of just the beginning, by the way. It's "Ooh wah ahh ahh ah!" repeatedly when my mom calls me. It's awesome.
  18. I'll throw in super stardust delta and the MGS Collection, if you want to play mgs2 and 3 on the go. Also ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 if you don't have it already.
  19. People may hate the way the bubbles look on the Vita, but its ridiculously easier and faster to use than the XMB on the PSP. The XMB is ideal for use with a controller, but if you have a touchscreen, large icons will always be better.
  20. I wish publishers and developers didn't announce games so early. Do we really need to know about a game 3 or 4 years ahead of time? On the other hand, if you dont announce anything, people begin to lose hope or they don't even notice it. I think a year ahead is perfectly fine to announce a game though.

Nintendo does this very well. They announce games that usualyl come out int he same year or within the next 12 months. I love that about them.

But more than stuff like FF13 Versus, there's stuff like Insanity(That Del Toro game), or Princess Crown, and even GTA5. Princess Crown is coming out in 2013, but other than that, who the hell knows when the other things are coming, if ever.

Oh, and Agent...THAT thing. I have a feeling it never even existed besides the logo.

And some indies... surely the designers don't realize how long it will take, but it's just torture. We finally have Fez. I've been waiting for The Unfinished Swan for... seems like about 4 years now?

  21. I hope the PS3 gets some these really neat background colors later. Just the entire way your profile is set up on the Vita is so much better than on the PS3.
  22. I havent posted in this thread since it got started last year and we were all dickish about it, but there's some really good stuff in here. Though ive noticed that its fluctuating between religion and personal beliefs. Then again, a religion can be a lot of things.
  23. So I was watching "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and uhh...do people just casually masturbate with their friends like that? Is that what people do? Is that normal?

I have friends who did that. At school no less. There was some porno magazine (hidden) at one of the teacher's office. It had Jenna Jameson on it, I forgot what it was.

Wow, Jenna Jameson. I havent heard that name in a while, sounds so...quaint. She was kind of before the internet blew up and let us see things 1000 times more disgusting than your average porno mag or VHS tape. I probably cant even masturbate to still pictures anymore.
