  1. Myself and MetalCaveman are online now if anyone's up for a few quick rounds.
  2. No one else has responded, so I guess not. I might do a 'post-mortem' on the game, otherwise. I'm still down for the round-table if other people are.
  3. Seems some sentimental people can't grasp that long development timeline != good game. Didn't anyone learn after Too Human?
  4. Eliminators are mental. Real fun, hectic because you never know when the dude in front's going to do a u-turn and blast you! They're also pretty good for loading up on loyalty points too, which is awesome. Helps out loads if you're going for the Disciple or Livery Liberator trophies (names may not be exact but you know the ones I mean right?.
  5. I'm up for some after this Indy 500 B-Spec race finishes on GT5 (lap 53/200 as I type).
  6. Yeah that was a bit shit. Bret Hart was released later though, but afaik the Fan Axxess didn't cover that. Undertaker's alternate was regular DLC though, and the Tribute to the Troops arena was a regular unlockable Good idea, yeah. Just bad DLC though. Step in the right direction though.
  7. Since I live a good bit away from town, I always read the manual on the bus on the way home. Force of habit. I don't do it for games I buy online though. But if you're going to have a ridiculously big open-world game, you bet I'm going to be wanting a map in there.
  8. I do swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me bob. Also, hi. Some of you might know me. Maybe. Or maybe you've forgotten. Doesn't matter, I'm here for now, and maybe for later. We'll see how things pan out. ToadLicker? IT CANNOT BE! Welcome back!
  9. I agree. If it's well-spaced out, it's great, especially in a story-based environment like LA Noire. I can only imagine how many used copies of something like Heavy Rain that players would still have on their shelves if they had something like this (although DLC was planned, but soon scrapped after only one episode, The Taxidermist). SmackDown vs Raw did this as well last year, and I thought it was a great idea. Good to see someone else picking up the sales model too. I'll definitely get it when the PSN Store comes back, no question about it.
  10. The one thing that annoyed me was: Other than that, great game. Only got 5 stars on one mission though, so there's a lot of replaying to do. Again, I'm with some of you that said that there should be no audio hints or ✓/X marks in the notebook, just to leave everything totally ambiguous until you get your report at the end. Leave it for yourself to figure out what's "right". Oh, and maybe have characters provide deliberately doctored evidence to throw you off the trail too. News of the Rockstar Pass hit this morning too. It's a one-off paymemt of $10 (until 14th June, then $12 after) that nets you all the DLC when it becomes available. Big discount buying the Pass instead of buying everything separately. Oh, and I wish it'd tell you on the main menu if you've got all street crimes done on that desk. I've got 39/40 and can't bloody find where the last one is >
  11. I'd be down for a co-buy. I tried this out back in October and thought it was great. Speaking of which, I'm surprised Dean hasn't linked my PXOD preview I done back then...
  12. Why? I found it enjoyable. It's still a great game, but from what I've heard, some of the action cut-scenes are overly-flambuoyant compared to the original. That's before you take into effect totally ruining the mood in the Psycho Mantis scene with the laughing heads because GameCube controllers don't have rumble.
  13. I thought me being small (5' 4" iirc) was a known thing? You not remember that pic of me playing Trials HD @ Eurogamer where I looked like a damn dwarf?
  14. Not sure if I've ventured into this thread before, but ho hum.
  15. I really need to start playing Dorfort again.
  16. I remember playing this at Eurogamer Expo (and queueing nearly 2 fucking hours to do so) and it worked great as a LAN multiplayer. I was pretty stoked for it after giving it a go. After hearing how bad the lag is now, on top of the lacklustre bot AI on singleplayer, Bethesda'll be lucky if I ever buy it, bargain bin, second-hand or otherwise. Oh god it's getting quite the universal panning.
  17. Good to see some of my nominations getting a mention early on, a few good ones but as people said earlier, there's better yet to come. Actually kinda surprised that not a single GTA has made the cut. I get that it seems like an old formula at this point, but I figured at least one of them'd get listed. Looks like we all may have picked different GTAs and effectively eliminated each other.
  18. 1. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite 2. Final Fantasy VIII 3. GTA: Vice City 4. Burnout 3: Takedown 5. Tetris 6. Metal Gear Solid 3 7. Gran Turismo 4 8. Pokemon Gold/Silver (Does this count as one? Same gen, but obviously not the Crystal-specific story) 9. SimCity 3000 10. The Secret of Monkey Island 11. Deus Ex 12. Mega Man 2 13. Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri 14. Final Fantasy VII 15. Mortal Kombat 2
  19. I'd consider going this coming year again, but I dunno if I'd be staying with my aunt again. It's cool getting the free accommodation and all, but I don't know if the hassle of being hassled is worth it Would rather do the Travelodge thing or some hotel or something anyway and just run with that.
  20. I don't even know/want to know how I got on with this North America rendition. I got the 5 great lakes, and a few of the obvious states, but I think that's about it really. EDIT: I have no idea why I labeled Florida twice. FURTHER EDIT: I done the quiz thing on the OP. Fucking X-stan countries >_> I got the others all right, though did mix up Qatar and Bahrain as well.
  21. Well, this thread's turning into a bucket of fail. Blackhawks game's on anyway, and barely anyone's interest so I'm just gonna keep this thread iced until people, y'know, actually wanna play
  22. Bumping for 8pm GMT final confirmation. I'll certainly be online anyway, I don't know about you guys, but nudge me if you are because I've this week's seasonal events to cash in on yet
  23. Definitely my favourite DS game, bar none. Never did beat that final boss in the post-game, though I know who it is and know the whole hidden story behind it. Absolutely loved the battle system though, I could certainly get behind another game that does that. Though with a different story. This one's already told and over, it doesn't need a sequel.
  24. I was thinking of having our first one of these next weekend (since Uncharted 2's Lab with 3x cash boost is still going on this weekend). Sure it'll get in the way of Mass Effect 2's PS3 launch a bit but hopefully we'll still get a few folks in on the action. 8pm GMT seems to work for everyone, going by the success of the Uncharted meets, so maybe an hour or two either side, how does that work for people?
  25. I was playing with 0 green reception bars and NAT type 3, it was to be expected. I heard Smooves, Heartless and Dean's keyboard prattling perfectly.
