  1. Time for gratuitious screenshots of me then: I forgot to get a screenshot of a nice hanging kill I got in the last match before I left, I think it was the Sanctuary, I was hanging inside of one of the well and poked my pistol up and stole one of Heartless's kills. Booya. Was great playing guys. Look forward to it again.
  2. While I doubt it'd be serious competition to an R10 Stealth, the Nomad Diablo GT-1 is quite beastly. Blows the other JGTC cars outta the water. Especially good for the JGTC seasonal event just gone up yesterday.
  3. There's an XP bonus weekend? Sweet. Guess I'll have to try to get online again for this while I'm polling more people to start GT5 track days. I've only got 3 so far for it so unlikely if it's gonna go ahead this weekend, but I'll definitely float around both and see what's up. Still on for 8 guys?
  4. Any PS3 folk interested in doing a group GT5 track day? Private lobby so no outsiders, probably mucking around on track and maybe some proper racing thrown in too Also: we could use this thread for arranging trading cars and stuff to help each other progress through the game, like a bit of a trading post.
  5. Not particularly. It's Type 3, which it says should only affect certain elements such as voice chat. Can't figure out how to get it changed to Type 1. It worked one other night though, and all my other games are fine. ಠ_ಠ
  6. /sp/'s pretty good for trolling during sports games. I'm not even gonna watch the NFL Playoffs but might be trolling a bit in the match threads, I dunno. I'm gonna try MP again later on this evening before the usual time to see if it'll behave itself today.
  7. Yeah, it's the way he came off more than anything. As many have said in the comments, I don't mind doing that sorta stuff when the music's somewhat of a key device, really enjoyable, or more importantly perhaps original (and never on a first playthrough of ANYTHING). Composers have their jobs on the games the same as any other person on the team, and I'd rather hear the fruits of their labour when playing than other music or a podcast or something. That being said, I do practice good public etiquette: if you're playing a handheld in public: no sound, or use headphones. Respect other people's ears, they may not want to hear that Final Fantasy 7 battle music droning all the time on a long plane trip even if you do.
  8. I think after this: http://bit.ly/hqU9Px I expect Totilo's polls to lean more towards "hate".
  9. I'm too lazy to look for that link on Twitter again, but after that snark-filled email exchange with a reader, Fahey gets bumped up to least favourite. The only one there I can stand any more (columnists aside, they're sorta alright) is Owen.
  10. I'll be online and ready around 8ish anyway (UK time) so I'll be hopefully joining in.
  11. Thank god I muted it and listened to the slightly off-pace WGN Radio commentary instead. I want Pat and Edzo to commentate my life. They may be homers too but damn it they're funny. And possibly always drunk when calling games. I dunno.
  12. Was that me by any chance? I do seem to remember me getting killed right next to the box a few times.
  13. Hmmm. Totally missed this. Currently about to eat while GT5 plays itself some B-Spec and gets me monies. I wouldn't mind joining up for a few rounds at all. Should be around all night from ~20 mins time onwards. PSN's jaychendy, some of you have me added already, but nudge when it's happening on psn/twitter/whatever and I'll hop on.
  14. I'm about to find that out for myself, me and a few friends ate going to the TNA European Tour on the 24th of this very month. I've not watched it actively in ~5 years though.
  15. Why would you list PItchfork but not Rolling Stone, NME, or any other publication/website? They all suck for the most part. Because it's the one I see most often associated with music snobbery, the only one at one point I used to actually read/visit, but I just couldn't stand the way they put themselves across over an extended period of time. I've no relatively recent experience with the others, so couldn't judge accurately if I mentioned them. But I do agree. It's why I just use last.fm for new music rather than critic reviews or whatever.
  16. THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A RUNNING JUMP OFF A PIER WITH THE TIDE OUT: People who base their entire opinion of a band or artist on one or two songs. People that only listen to singles but never whole albums. American Idol/The X Factor/Whatever the fuck they call it these days Pitchfork Media People that suddenly hate bands they liked just because they became popular. [/rant]
  17. Well, you mentioned that the PK unit suffering a lot this season, they done it again last night. 2 powerplay goals conceded. And Stalberg hitting all 3 irons on that penalty shot - imagine how the game may have panned out if that went in... And while not NHL, rather USHL, this video started doing the rounds yesterday, and I was like when I saw it.

  19. That must be incredibly weird to have a dream that's entirely a text-adventure.
  20. I don't use facebook that often these days, but I've quite a few eFriends added. Even met one last year. Nice bloke so he was.
  21. I see it's been yanked from this week's EU PSN store update. Wonder why.
  22. Level 25 I think. I can't wait for them. Some of the stuff like the oval racing really does need the wheel for it because it requires that much accuracy. You can get away with it more on the traditional circuits I think, but I don't have any qualms with the DS3 driving experience outside of the damn NASCAR challenges/races.
  23. I'm in two minds about it. It's good that we've kept a young player that's still got a chance to maybe live up to his promise a bit more, but our PK's definitely suffered. Johnson, to an extent's helped us a bit since he's come in, in terms of being a good bottom-6 faceoff winner (and maybe helping putting Kopecky back on the side, god he's awful at center), but it's like some of the rest of the guys just decide to collectively switch off their physical game at select matches. Skille and Bickell are big dudes that should be able to finish their checks much more in a way like Brouwer was able to last night. I'm still largely undecided on Scott, who can't play hockey to save his life, and only comes off the bench because he thinks he'd be more comfortable in the penalty box instead. At least when Eager played that role for a bit last year, he could at least look like a proper player and not just someone there to keep the other team's goon squad in check. In fact, Dowell's been that much of a scrapper this season I don't know what role Scott's actually got left. Could you imagine though, if we did let Hjalmarsson go in the summer, kept Buff, and played him at D like he's doing now in Atlanta? My mouth foams at the amount of dropped points we could have got. Question though: Cullimore was placed on re-entry waivers a week or 2 ago and went unclaimed and cleared. Garnet Exelby's sitting in Rockford. I'm not sure what way Exelby's contract is (whether it's with the Icehogs themselves or a Blackhawks 2-way), but if he can come up and send Cullimore - or hell, even Boynton, whose had his fair share of mistakes too this year - I think our defense could be a lot more physical and competitive, and would certainly leave oppositions second-guessing themselves. With Exelby's physical style of play, do you think that could help Hjalmarsson's confidence back a bit? He looks a shadow of the player he was before he got that suspension for the Pomminville hit at the start of the season, it's like he's scared to play a bit rough now.
  24. I still have to give you a good race online. Then again, with my A and B spec levels being 23 and 22 respectively, I'd expect to probably blow you out of the water. Maybe later? While I'm here, those fucking NASCAR school challenges are a god damn nightmare. I just about got Bronze on them all, enough to get the trophy and I thought "NEVER AGAIN." And I didn't even win a NASCAR to do the series race either. /o\ TIP: I can't remember what series it was in B-Spec that lets you win the Pagani Zonda R, but it'll be your friend doing the Like The Wind series. Lengthen out the top speed and set the suspension cambers to 4 on each side and you should be able to compete on the oval tracks properly.
