  1. When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorites, because it throws in enough of two people being themselves at different stages of life. Sure, it has that basic premise, but it takes time and shows the evolution of the characters from young and self-centered to growing into mature people who understand that pride is vanity and friendship is a good basis for a relationship. Plus the soundtrack is great with Harry Conick Jr. I have bought that one about 3 times so far.
  2. Right. Goblins? Goblins riding a wild-ish pig? I need to kill me some pork. Last night I was hunting a dragon priest, expecting a fight. I killed him under 10 seconds. I might have all of the dragon priest masks now, except for this new one, which features a metal vagina-shaped mouth.
  3. See, I am not tired of those types of messages. What I'm tired of seeing is: Guy meets girl. Fall in love. Something happens that makes one leave the other. The other redeems self. Two get together and the movie has happy ending. Now, I'm not tired of this completely, because who doesn't enjoy a good love story. However, this is the same damn plot for every "romantic comedy" in existence. It's horrible! This wasn't the case with the main character in WIR, which made me love the movie even more.
  4. This is awesome! This looks better than the other DLC packages for Skyrim thus far. And, I like the idea of battling someone who could be as powerful as my character. But, again, no official word on PS3.
  5. Speaking of annoying political shit, the phone has been ringing all damn week, and I only expect it to get worse until Election Day. Ugh!
  6. Wife picked up a working PS2 at a yard sale, with 3 Dual Shock 2s, memory card, 4 games (3 working), and all cords. Total of $40. Oh yeah!

The games were more kids games. Cars, Tak and The Ju Ju something, Namco greatest hits, and a Sonic game. Cars seemed okay, not bad. Tak seemed cool. Namco greatest hits had Pole Position, Pac Man, Ms Pac Man, Dig Dug, and Galaga. I love those games. I didn't check out the model, but it has to be newer, as the condition was superior.

And, no, I was hoping for GoW 2, San Andreas, and a few others I really loved on that console.

  7. Man, was Wreck It Ralph good! I was only half expecting a good movie, but I was wrong. And they didn't overdo the nostalgia aspect of the characters/games. Worth seeing it in the theater!
  8. I can see that it might be Hunson. I hate waiting. In the meantime, that theme song for the game was great to hear. Thanks for that, sir.
  9. Did you notice that the giant hand Marceline is flying on is the same color as Ice King? Interesting.
  10. http://slickdeals.net/f/5405484-Assassins-Creed-III-Xbox-or-PS3-48-Free-Shipping AC3 cheaper...
  11. The yellow raisins are referred to as goldens or golden raisins by the main producer (Sun-Maid) in the US. The hard, small dark raisins are called raisins. I have both in my pantry for baking, and I live 20 minutes from the raisin capital of the world. I can find raisins at all of the farmer's markets around here.
  12. I didn't want Detroit to win, because the momentum can be too much to overcome. You need to remember that the Giants played well above their level and the Tigers played well below. Go Giants!!
  13. It is supposed to be in the style of Zelda 2, without the bugs and a few improvements. I've had it on pre-order. I'm excited and hoping for the best.

    Apple

Alive, yes. But, Jobs had been very sick the last 2 years, leaving the company rather untended by him. No one was even truly sure he would be at that last press conference he attended, if I remember correctly.

    Apple

Under Jobs, they put out a good product that used innovative thought. For instance, the iPad Mini would have come out, but it would have more tech built into it. Apple products are viewed as premium products, not like a typical HP computer with large flaws in design. With the iPad Mini, there is no premium product. It's to compete directly with Samsung and Amazon on their level.

    Apple

And, Apple is getting sued from a different angle: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57536889-37/apple-sued-over-deal-locking-iphone-to-at-t-network/ The stock value of Apple is falling, as we expected to happen without proper leadership and technology push. It's not doomsday, but the aura of Jobs seems to have vanished, and the company is weakening.
  17. Romo was very cool during his interview. And he takes care of business. Really, our pitching is performing at the level we expected them to be at during the season. Timmy has taken to his new role out of the bullpen quite nicely. And Zito is going to get that ring from 2010 he missed. Zito was good the first half of that year and contributed nicely, but slumped as they were making the playoff push. I'm happy for him.
  18. Detroit is starting to play as bad as the Yankees. Is that A-Rod choking? Oh, no. That is Prince Fielder.

  20. Gumball is good, but I'm going to pass the time watching baseball, then watching every episode with LSP again. She's easily my favorite character.
  21. Damn it! I would have loved to have seen it. I was texting with my buddy about it, and talking about the game with the other guys in the Disney park (all of us checking the score). We could only talk about the score and the stats we get on our phones. I'm ready to watch a good series though. Verlander is a prime stud, Sandy K style pitcher. He could easily destroy any team. I'm just hoping the G-Men can push around the rest of the pitching staff to compensate.
  22. The LA Zoo and traveling around Glendale wore me out. Now, if my feet can only last through 2 days of Disneyland...

  23. But, why even have the apple? We know the show is more than surface deep. It's not written as deeply as you think. And Marceline is destined to wander the earth (assuming Earth). A couple of things other. In American lit, rain and water are used as a plot device for change, like a baptism. Ice King shoots up his lightening bolts in futility, as he can only produce snow, meaning he is incapable of change as he currently is. The name Simon is an old name from the bible. There was Jesus's brother, and also the name of Simon the Zealot (one of the 12 apostles - known as St Simon). That might play into who this character really is. For his last name, Petrikov is the name of a ski resort town, which ties in nicely to the cold theme. The cold theme being that Simon is already dead. Ice King is a cold corpse of who he used to be, also indicated by him only existing because of the magic of the crown. The ironic part is that Ice King wears the crown, but is not even a king to his own existence. My additional theory on the whole idea of Ice King and M being the last two people in existence at the end of the world. So, what little is left of Simon, he uses the power of the crown, sacrificing himself in the process, to create the Land of Ooo.
  24. For all of you literature and symbolism nuts, one more thing I noticed was the red apple Marceline pulled from the fridge. As you know, what seems random in literature usually has a double meaning. A lot of that meaning is taken directly from the bible in English lit. Ice King even comments on the apple. I think that is quite an obvious symbol.
  25. Christening in Glendale on Friday. LA Zoo costume birthday party for the kids on Saturday. Sunday and Monday is Disneyland/CA Adventures. Going to be damn tired!
