  1. Just bought a Nexus 7 myself to replace my laptop. As far as apps to get, I've been digging the Swiftkey Tablet version, Flipboard, BBC News, Reader HD (if you use RSS feeds), Gyro (for a game), and then if you've bought any Humble Bundles for Android it's worth checking out those games too.
  2. I used to have a pair of those Monoprice headphones. They don't sound as good as a pair of 100 dollar Sennheisers, of course, but for 20 bucks they do get damn close.
  3. Let's talk about tonight's debate, shall we!? My favorite "why the fuck am I watching this" moment had to be when Romney said something like "let's talk about this" and the moderator, who was getting cut off all night said "no, let's not". It's been 4 years, long enough for me to forget that presidential debates are the worst kind of formality, and this was a wonderful reminder.
  4. Sko beat me to it. Either way, this has been my favorite song off the album so far.
  5. Yeah. I would imagine that all laptops support USB keyboards, seeing as you have USB ports and it's still Windows.
  6. Sounds like the connection between your keyboard and your mobo is going bad. Does your laptop run hot very often/all the time? Trackpad still work?
  7. Reboot? Unplug and plug the keyboard back in? Laptop? Desktop?
  8. It's just a shitty way of spelling "2012". Read it top left to bottom right. I didn't realize it until long after the Olympics were over, and I was even there for part of them...
  9. Yep. In the grand scheme of things reviews don't mean jack shit.
  10. Sold my 2006 era black macbook, bought this. Came out 100 dollars on top. Fuck yeah technology.
  11. I've already posted this band, but I saw them live this week and it was great.
  12. And that is why I never get watches that do that. On top of having to switch it up for months with 30 days, it's just another thing that can go wrong.
  13. Into the Hawken Alpha. Sweeeeet.

  14. Word of advice to melee types trying to take on the crystaliks. One hit to each of its little crystal feet will take it down, and as zero, it becomes really easy. I've taken to charging in, knocking out one, phasing, knocking out the other, and then hitting the third while the little "recovery" animation goes on. As far as that spot, yeah... Because I didn't get the Zer0 head the first time through I just ended up running through the enemies the second and third times I went in. Once you leave their little zone they'll leave you alone.
  15. I figured that since Atomsk posted his zero playstyle, I might as well post mine, so I woke up and recorded a bit of footage this morning. Honestly, because of the way I set up my build I'm not really invested into any one of the skill trees, but I don't find it too terrible so far. It's so far sort of a bastard child sniper/melee/stealth build without being really good at any of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4W-yOK-igU If anything, it shows how different PC can play than PS3. Atomsk was certainly a lot more careful than I was... Also, after watching it for the first time myself, I am horribly incompetent at the beginning... Guess that's what happens when you just wake up.
  16. Capcom is the EA of Japan. Universally panned by people on internet forums, but lots of people continue to enjoy their games regardless of all the things we might consider complete bullshit.
  17. I found myself rooting for the Seahawks, despite laughing at them at Raiders games for years. Ouch, the Raiders... They've been setting new records in mediocrity for the last couple years. At least as a Seattle fan we've got one or two winning seasons in the past couple years...
  18. Pssh. As a Seahawks fan, I laugh at your misfortune.

    Apple

By the time my upgrade rolls around (March), I'm assuming there will be better phones than the 920 out. As for WP8, I'm not sure yet. The hardware looks fantastic, and the internals are, like you said, far better than any other phone on the market at the moment, but the WP8 ecosystem is just so far behind iOS and Android right now that I'm not 100% sure. I don't care about phone gaming, but there's a few notable apps that aren't on W8 that I'd still like to use. As for Swiftkey, yeah, you're right on that one. I was just going down the list of Android apps that I've bought. Honestly, it's a short list.

That's how I'm feeling. I'm considering switching to the iPhone 5 when my upgrade window rolls around if there are no decent vanilla Android phones out at the time, but it'll be a little sad to have to rebuy Instapaper, Swiftkey, Fotmob, etc. or their alternatives. That, and no google maps fix = no buy for me, seeing as I moved to a city and am pretty clueless without it.
  21. Yeah. It's not too bad. I've been drawn more to Planetside 2 recently, but what I played of Firefall I liked.
  22. That doesn't look too bad. Honestly, it's probably got a bit more features than I'd like out of a watch, but aesthetically it doesn't look awful, with buttons and gauges all over the place. I still really like my Nixon, though.
  23. Got an email from Mechwarrior Online telling me I'm in the closed beta, so I log in, and apparently I'm not after all. 20 minutes later they send me an email saying "sorry about that, a mistake on our end", with closed beta access for my trouble. Great, I guess.

Same here, but I'm more interested in Hawken.

  24. The options are great. Best PC port I've seen this year, I'd say. As for it being a solo-friendly game, I'd say so. I've been playing solo for most of today and I haven't gotten bored at all. Most of the complaints about it being boring in SP come from the long runs from objective to objective without a friend around to do it with you, for me at least, and Borderlands 2 has gotten better when it comes to pacing and objective placement. I know in the Doctor Ned DLC for the first game there were a few areas where some of the distances you had to travel on foot were just unreasonable, and from what I've seen so far the sequel hasn't had any of those issues.
