not as far as i know. Though there are plenty of anime with random US foreigners who is a comedic character most of the time.

besides the bro droid and the glimpses of old party members nothing was NECESSARY in terms of having to play KOTOR 1. Just background info. He'd be missing out on a great game. But like I said, if absolute necessity to play one over the other happens..

I mentioned the wiki only if he absolutely did not want to play both games and had to choose one over the other.

I would suggest reading in the wiki what you need to know about KOTOR 1 to play KOTOR 2. If you have played Dragon Age Origins and liked it, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend KOTOR 2 on PC alongside some patches that add content and make it better over-all [like custom lightsabers]. The good thing is that the references from KOTOR 1 on 2 aren't many, besides a few characters leaving recorded messages or the droid being the same as the first game. KOTOR 1 is great, but KOTOR 2 is fantastic and like Ethan said you'd be doing yourself a disservice If you really don't want to from what I hear there are books dealing with Revan and the Jedi Outcast, but I think those take place pre-KOTOR 1 and post-KOTOR 2. Then there's a non-canon game called The Old Republic that fucks up Revan. I understand your feelings though. Before I played Witcher 2 I saw a let's play of the entire Witcher 1 game, but not before I read the novels and short stories dealing with Geralt of Rivia. Once I started the games it was so much more satisfying to know characters and get references.

Like I mentioned I've been watching Kokoro Connect. Drama and romance anime with a running plot of supernatural. Basically a club in a school that start out switching bodies with one another as a comedy thing, but then after the first episode it gets really serious. All of a sudden you realize they each have a major fault, either trauma or personalty-fault. They try to help each other out and stuff. I wouldn't even be mentioning it if the writing wasn't fantastic. I also like that not all of the girls want the main guy's dick [just 2/3] and that the drama and suffering is really well written. Also I feel the need to mention this for the Mikasa fanboys, one of the main love interests is basically Mikasa. She has a bit of tsundere but mainly is a tomboy and when she starts to show her feelings she is absolutely adorable to the point I genuinely said "D'AAAAAAW'" out loud. If you want a Mikasa clone in a very well written drama, look no further highly recommended. You can kinda see her in this image, short haired one.

The easiest way to find non-jiggle boobs is to turn to seinen. But recently there's been a trend of shone having strong female characters. Mikasa being an obvious choice. Sure they made her a bit more sexy than in the manga, but at least her tits don't bounce everywhere.

One of my biggest desires out of anime is to see a good detective noir anime maybe sci fi. Like Bladerunner meets Sherlock Holmes. That won't happen in Japan unless they can insert otaku shit in it. I'm all for western companies helping fund anime from talented studios if it means we get more Ghost in the Shell and less harem kawaii moe. Imagine a good cop drama made my Madhouse that didn't devolve into having a giant pair of tits or mechas.

Think about it this way. Naruto Shippuden is still Shonen, and if that had started prior to Naruto itself people wouldn't think of it as such.
