  1. Yeah Ethan. The guys behind The Banner Saga, Stoic Studios, made a comment defending Double Fine in their latest update. For those who don't recall Stoic studios is formed by a couple of former Bioware developers whose major work was The Old Republic, and was the second or third gaming Kickstarter to release after Double Fine got the ball rolling [aka one of the first wave/founding fathers]. I thought the comments were interesting, and though it assumes we don't know anything and sounds a bit condescending it makes sense.
  2. By "left us" I hope you don't mean what I think you meant.
  3. imho the Barbarian or the paladin are the best option. Paladin because he has a decent amount of damage, Barbarian King because I think the Lich might do a bit more damage but the BK has more life. Plus the Fas-rah-doo scream actually remove the fires in your immediate vicinity if you HAVE to.
  4. GOH: Honestly I would suggest taking the 70% gold by locking down the castle and going straight to him. You might not get as much gold from beating him but that sure beats having to roam around the castle. Me personally I have runes that give me life when I kill so once I find the boss I want I tend to transport to the regular castle and kill the weaker enemies until my life is recharged. And Mal fuck you. I have the shittiest of capes that give everything BUT defense.
  5. You're already going in with a negative attitude, so maybe it is better if you wait and cool off until you can rent is or it's on dvd. It was a solid film as far as I care with the weird zombie shit where they act like ants/parasites being already shown in the trailers [i don't recall another scene like that]. The rest of the film is basically showing zombies like 28 weeks later.
  6. I haven't read the book. My friends, including the one that went to watch it with me, have. They were disappointed but they got over it. It's not like this was a genre-changing book that would forever be remembered as the Romero of zombie novels was it? Yeah it's a shame it got changed but they all ended up enjoying it. It's not whether you read the book or not, is whether you care enough to not give the movie a chance because it's associated with the novel. Pretend it has another title and give it a chance. Edit: and the action you're speaking of largely deals with zombies doing the crazy shit they do in the movie. I assure you that the rest of the movie, not counting the few scenes with marines/military people that are relatively short, is basically seeing the state of the world and Brad Pitt investigating. He literall runs and talks more than he does anything else.
  7. Just beat the Maya boss [Ponce de Leon]. Took me about 5-6 heroes. And it wasn't even because he's hard, I was 6-7 levels above him [to compare]. If you thought the little floating skulls of the previous boss were bad Mal, this one leaves a trail of fire wherever he fucking floats. Not to mention the purple spiked balls are floating in every possible direction of this wide open room. So combine fire all over the screen+spiked balls and you are seeing one tough boss battle where the tough shit isn't the boss. Funny enough beat him with a Paladin over a Barbarian Queen [the extra damage per hit makes all the difference edit: Also I am having the worst fucking luck finding armor and better swords. I only recently got the ranger chest and helmet, and I'm already about to head into the catacombs. There's literally more than 1/2 of squares still open. I wish there was something I could do to unlock armor/weapons but it's just luck of the draw.
  8. So the Kickstarter I mentioned a couple of statuses ago, the jrpg, is getting Wii U/PS4/Vita versions since it has gone past the stretchgoal. If you wanna support it and get it cheap go to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/disastercake/soul-saga-a-j-rpg-inspired-by-playstation-classics/posts/529074?ref=activity . ETA is July 2014

Looks like they're making the same mistake every Kickstarter does of trying to do too much.

right now he's only adding stuff that'll be side shit. if he gets to "twice the game" it might take longer though.

I particularly wondered at "release on 3 more platforms" for a meager $10,000 extra. Is that really all it costs? $3,300 to port a game? I doubt it.

  9. Honestly my friend said this had NOTHING in come on with the book and he still enjoyed it as well. I think a lot of the crap it gets is because of the name.
  10. Be glad he let you even get to the first boss, that's quite a sizable amount of playtime considering you can take your sweet time. Does he block off other areas like the forest or the underground?
  11. I've bought more games this semester than I have these past 2-3 years. With Gamefly I never tend to buy games, but ever since I got my 3DS I had a crapload of backlog and newer games with a lot of replay value so it was worth it. Not to mention niche PC titles like Shadowrun and future indie/kickstarter titles.
  12. main website only seems to mention Mac and Linux versions coming in the future. Maybe once he gets those out he might eventually do a Vita version I dunno. I'd say this game needs a big screen considering the clusterfuck of enemies/projectiles that can be in a room.
  13. I'm sending all of my positive karma over there.
  14. I'm hoping for a Steam Sale on Shadowrun Returns but seeing how it'll be released RIGHT next to a steam sale what are the chances?
  15. if it helps the $15 price is worth it. i havent played a game wth this much replay value in a while
  16. You don't know where that gif came from? Jesus. I can't believe I'm gonna out-moe you for once. It's from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. It was a guilty pleasure. Alongside every other cheesy high school comedy/romance I've seen. Back on topic though: I'm thinking this game is specifically designed for monsters to be beaten once you lock an old dungeon with whichever creature you wanna fight already open, unless you rush to whichever area you wanna go. I say this simply because chicken doesn't give you nearly enough life back per hit unless you're playing as a paladin or a barbarian king. Vampirism is out of the question unless it's a rune. Though it might be worth it with lich king.
  17. Oh god. For the first time ever I recognize an anime gif you've posted.
  18. Tbh I think I've missed 50% of this new season and I have no interest in watching. The best episodes of the show are the serious ones or the ones giving more background and they barely focus on those. Plus like you said they've turned PB into a bitch and FP into a boring character.
  19. Fucking smartphones. What will they do next? Cook me breakfast?
  20. The Walking Dead imho was a step in the right direction for adventure games. Mainly in the aspect of not having to bring out your inventory and attempt random ass combinations. Deponia did this but at least it was comedic in nature as it made no fucking sense at points.
  21. Aren't they getting the first half for sure and the second half only if the sales of the first amount to what they need? Or so I read at first in articles, haven't bothered to read it again
  22. That's easy enough. If you go to the vault itself and right click the specific website/usename/password combo you can edit out the password. There should be a checkmark there that lets you see the password as is, if you forgot it. From there you should be able to change it on the website itself. Problem is if you change the password somewhere else and dont log into the browser with lastpass for a while and forget. Then the old password will do you no good.
