Yikes. And I thought those Rockstar video series for RDR and L.A. Noire were bad... 'Truly revolutionary' game.

I have a friend who says it's overrated and that it's not a particularly good platformer. Even if that's true (which I guess it is to some extent), it's not the bloody point! It's a mixture of things anyway, and it's about the 'experience'.

I'd watch it because it is by the guy who did In Bruges and features Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson.

I don't even care if they don't look that good on console. I always felt that something about the art direction of GTA IV and RDR made the scenery beautiful, despite the limitations.

I can see what Ethan's saying. The guy's an idiot (just to clarify: the senator, not Ethan...) , but I can understand what he may have been trying to get across. The four tracks (from Four LOL!) I'd heard were played live, so maybe that made them a bit more raw and interesting, but they sort of seemed like AWITC-era. Sort of Hunting For Witches-like in tone, except for a slower one. Still, loved Silent Alarm and the stuff before that. Wish they'd recapture that magic.

Played a bit of Iron Brigade. It's been quite enjoyable so far. I don't really play tower defence games but it does a good job of balancing the shooting and building stuff, and after a couple of missions you already start to see how you can diversify and lean towards one or the other if you so wish.

Oh, really? I completely ignored the last album but the tracks I'd heard from the new one sounded alright.

Cemetery Junction. A fairly predictable film, but it had its charms and some good performances. Probably helps that it's my hometown, so I got an extra little kick out of some of the references, too. For example, because it's 1973, there's a new development of houses in a place called Whitley, and one of the characters is prompted to express how he aspires to own a house and all that. Nowadays, Whitley is a shithole, full of the worst people in Reading. While I can find Ricky Gervais a bit annoying (the non-celebrity bits of Extras were crap), he's only a minor character (and isn't really acting rather than wearing a 'costume') and the humour is fairly 'safe'. The thing I mostly disliked were the moments where the shot would hang too long on characters' faces; presumably, in case you were too stupid to realise the point being made.
