  2. A burst shield is usually pretty handy too. Though, I have saved a maylay shield for later on if I decide to go the melee route. Probably not a great gun by certain people's standards (though it works well for my character) but it sure is purdy. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=99035662
  3. Ha. There's nothing quite like running up around some stairs and jumping down to melee a guy in the back of the head from above. Don't think I've done something like that since Halo Reach. Also, I played the slot machine and won a grenade. A live one.
  4. So, today, I got a beta invite. Terrible timing. I guess I'll give it a go sometime. Did anyone else try it in the end?
  5. Yeah, I'm slowly feeling myself drawn towards melee with Zer0, so I may respec when I reach a higher level. If I can find a decent mod to reduce the cooldown of Deception it may be more workable early on. Felt like a total badass when there were three guys lined up during one bit. I activated Deception, one-hit meleed the first, no-scoped the second in the face and then one-hit meleed the third in the face (IN THE FACE!) Also, played with a friend (who chose Axton) yesterday and, amazingly, I didn't die once. Sure, there were some hairy situations and Deception acted like a panic button but I think I've got a decent setup at least.

I'd start with Apple Sheep Syndrome. She probably caught it from some hipster friends.

I'm going to call fake, no matter what the description says. It's just too perfect not to be.

  7. So, I've started watching this 'Battlestar Galactica' show that everyone's talking about...eight years ago. I can see why it's interesting and all, but I really dislike some of the decompressed storytelling aspects or the cheap plot device stuff. Not to say it's bad. I just wish it would get on with it, sometimes.
  8. Not as far as I'm aware. Well, LEGO Batman 2 isn't.
  9. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. It's got all the useful PC options like v-sync and stuff (because LEGO games are notorious for screen-tearing). Though I'd hate to think how long it takes to load the open world on consoles... Also, it is good fun. Especially when you're Superman and pretty much invincible.

  11. Hadn't heard this before. Maybe I do like a Florence + The Machine song...

  13. I saw that and got excited. Then remembered I'm in Europe on a PS3...

  15. Drive. I enjoyed it. I think it has some real strong performances and direction, though I can't help feeling there's too much smiling and staring between Gosling and Mulligan. I know part of it is the characterisation but Irene felt like a very shallow character in some regards. I really liked the score but wasn't too fond of some of the soundtrack. 'A real human being and a real hero' got on my nerves. Partly because it's a repurposing of lyrics and too on-the-nose. At least save it until the credits roll, maybe? I don't know... Anyway, it was an entertaining little thriller and I like the whole 'frog and the scorpion' element that lifts it above just being a cool jacket.
  16. Yeah, long story short but I had Mordecai for co-op while using Roland for solo. Friends ditched the game but I carried on with Roland, turning the game into BOREderlands. Definitely not touching the commando guy. I have no problem with aiming, that's probably one thing I am good at, thanks to the mouse. It's more to do with whether I have to be quite dextrous with moving around, constantly meleeing enemies (because I suck at WASD movement) instead of taking time to pick targets. Even if I've heard the assassin can be a total wrecking machine with melee specs. Though I hear the PC version should support gamepads, which may work out better if I play that way. Hmm...
  17. Yeah, I meant...what a wasted opportunity.
