  1. Bought Hanna on blu-ray because it was under £5 and it sounded pretty interesting.
  2. Completely forgot about this song. The band used to be alright. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3rnGl-ZeFI
  3. Could you stay on topic, please, Thurs- Oh, never mind.
  4. It's Maggie opening an umbrella. YOU GUYS ARE SICK IN THE HEAD.
  5. I love SMBC. Terrible taxidermy - WARNING: NIGHTMARES
  6. Octopus steals food and casually wrestles shark.
  7. I suppose it does fall into those 'gotta keep watching/reading to uncover the big mystery' concepts, and I guess that's got to disappoint some people when it's revealed. Not saying I'm one of those people, but I could understand why.
  8. Caustic Caverns was not a friendly place. Though it was satisfying when I managed to slag snipe the Badass Varkid in the critical spot during Deception, then set it alight with my fire sniper rifle and deliver the killing blow via melee right to its face as it charged me. Wormhole Threshers are a pain in the arse though. Went exploring in that area, was fighting some 'regular' ones when one of them managed to knock me backwards into the next area, thus spawning all the other Threshers. So I just got surrounded by about seven of the buggers before being pincered between two Wormhole ones. Bastards. At least the Crystalisks are child's play for me.
  9. That sounds...not good. I think Civil War was an example of exactly how bad and unbalanced the storytelling can be. I think even Marvel: Ultimate Alliance II did some elements better...
  10. I suppose the ** for the soundtrack and art leads to a 'Digital Download Code' or something too?
  11. I wanted to see it today but my friend said he will go next weekend. Presumably, he's busy in Pandaria and Pandora. Watched District 9. Really liked it. Copley's performance was great and the special effects were amazing. Not just from a 'technical' standpoint but from how they got the expressions and body language of the aliens across. Early on, I think it lags ever so slightly, with too much repeating of information as if the audience is too stupid to follow, but the talking head stuff was well-done otherwise.
  12. I think Dean shared an article (SPOILERS) a little while ago and it's everything I'd come to despise about mainstream Marvel stuff and part of why I stopped reading. It's just Bendis with some interesting idea that gets turned into a major crossover arc, but the actual substance to it lasts for about two or three issues before it devolves into lots of superheroes punching each other. Maybe this is a bit different but I just lost the appetite for any of that. And describing it as Shakespearean? What a dick.
  13. Oh, sweet. I hadn't really been paying attention recently, but will definitely be getting that pack.
  14. Twitter tracking of homophobic language usage. http://www.nohomophobes.com/#!/today/
  15. Oh, I started reading another story by Chandler. I forget the name but the first sentence mentions something about a 'coloured neighborhood' and then it's just fairly racist, homophobic and sexist to some extent... I guess that's the character's perspective (who isn't exactly likeable and dislikes everyone, really) but he didn't have to phonetically type out how a Spanish receptionist speaks. Haven't gone back to it for a while, but it seems pretty disjointed and there's another plot thread with which the story started, and I'm not sure it's even related to the main plot or will ever be related. Definitely not on the same level as The Big Sleep, anyway.
  16. Yeah, I tend to switch them, depending on circumstances. Just a useful thing to have if it's going to be a protracted fight.
  17. Oh, yeah, of course. I have other friends who can't resist the call of Pandaria or GW2, as well. Also, another factor that aids in my survivability is a mod that boosts and regenerates health. From what I've seen of mods, do other classes not get this sort of thing? They seem focused around certain playstyles, so maybe not. So, for Zero, there are mods meant for pistols, sniping or melee while I've seen Axton gets different boosts to his turret or team damage and the Gunzerker gets things for regenerating ammo and general weapon buffs.
  18. I don't know about other people, but when you're older and all have jobs and responsibilities, it can be much harder to coordinate co-op. In my case, I have a friend who seems to like playing alone and also was off 'sick' from work, so he levelled ahead of me. While another friend barely finds any time to play, so he's nine levels below me. I did 'escort' him past Captain Flynt the other night, but it buffed the enemies beyond his skill range, unfortunately. I was his bodyguard (but he didn't call me Betty, so I didn't call him Al). The level system can be annoying in that way.
  19. Hmm, I haven't really struggled with anything except for W4RD3N (because I had no corrosive weapons at that point) and the couple of quest-related Badass Varkid variants in Tundra Express. I just make sure to use a lot of cover and dash away if in real danger (if not go on a full-on ninja melee rampage). Generally, it's a very cautious slow playstyle, but it works for me. I guess the advantage to Zero is being able to plonk down a decoy if a load of suicide attackers come for you. Plus, I have a purple booster shield which spawns boosters that are most helpful (except when sewer rats nick them). And just last night, I unlocked a Purple Slag Sniper Rifle, which should be very handy in the future. p.s. we sorting out a roundtable at some point?
  20. If Pokemon were drawn by Tim Burton.
  21. It's not really about 'caring', it's just recognising a trend. And they're clearly not all colloquialisms. Of course they travel and will become common but I imagine, at that point, they lose their 'Britishism' status outside of anything but historical context.
  22. Ethan didn't think the same. He's surprised because some of them are well-established and familiar, being that they can date back as far as the 19th century ...but you probably know better than a professor studying the subject.
