Last band I saw live, when I wasn't playing, was Rx Bandits. They're always freakin' awesome. In the past few years they've become a bit more well-known over here so the venue was totally packed (not a big venue though). Their drummer is a fuckin' nutcase to keep up that kind of drumming for so long.
Also during the past few years, their horn section has decreased to nothing, so it was nice to see the crowd singing those parts. At other times I think the band had little bits figured out on guitar or keys anyway.
Years ago, while I was at uni, they played a show in a little pub and, beforehand, had been asking if anyone had somewhere for them to crash. I had offered up my shared house (fortunately, my friends were fans too) but they decided to stay with the girl with large boobs.
At the same venue, before that, I saw The Night Marchers which was John Reis' latest project. Been a fan of his for quite some time but never got to see Rocket From The Crypt live so it was cool to finally witness a live show. Couldn't find videos from then but it was as rockin' as this.
It was funny at the end because he just started eating a banana while everyone else was expecting an encore. So the crowd were just staring at him for a few minutes while he was trying to convince them there wouldn't be one. There wasn't one.
And Reel Big Fish are a band I have seen many times over the years. My friend is a huge fan so always sees them when they're in the UK. They always put on a good show, but if you've seen them a lot the 'material' isn't always new. Their version of Suburban Rhythm done in many different styles (disco, death-metal, country) is great the first time you see it...but then it happens every time after that.
