  1. Arkham Asylum has the greatest combat system EVER. I'm not a fan of stealth games but the sections in the game were OK; quite satisfying at times. I liked the atmosphere and explorations aspects too. I also like that the game kept freshening things up slightly, so it never became a slog through repetitive parts (something many games fall foul of). It's not perfect but definitely worth playing. Also, you're the goddamn Batman!
  2. I'm with Dean on Jaguars. Just something about them is kinda cool. Jaguar XJ220 I'll find some other cars when I have the time.
  3. Haha. Just saw this in Castle.
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12064394 Seems to be working fine now though.
  5. Taking my kisses back, woah-oh, I want my kisses back from you.

Yeah, the Seinfeld reference I added just to acknowledge who I was ripping off. THEY ARE CALLED POLOS THEY ARE POLOS OK?! Yeah, that's a very British joke. I think I put a few UK 'sweet/candy' references in there (clothing line or whatever is called 'Allsorts' as in Bassett's Allsorts, I believe) and the episode is called 'Oh, sweet irony' (even though I don't think it actually contains irony). Ha. Funny you should say that about Bendis because when my friend was trying to get me to read Powers, the first page is exactly that. Except in this case you could justify it as the character being 'incredulous'...and I don't think it was trying to be funny. It was a good series though.
  7. I like that he has found this sort of niche as 'the guy with a funny left eye'.

Yeah, I'd heard about that show (never seen it since I doubt it came to the UK) but my script was done about a year before it. And mine is nothing like that. It's more like a combination of Peep Show and Seinfeld. I started it on a course as a requirement (hence, no great deal of planning or originality) but my tutor liked it so much, I decided to follow it up and do a second episode (with a third in the planning stages). It was named after a Lit song, and partly because it was about two friends aiding each other in 'overcoming their own personal flaws' or somesuch. Which is, like, the oldest writing trope there is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcjdz1f0gXA I was originally an aspiring filmmaker, but a module on the course (and a shitty partner) put me off that. I think I had a talent for 'framing' shots (so, cinematographer?) but I didn't think I had the technical skill or drive to make a career of it.

Aww, man. No comic book artist utopia?! Lame! Do you mean $70-100 for a set amount of pages or per page? If it's the former that seems affordable, but it sounds like you mean the latter...which is a lot! I'll check these out. You've certainly helped me in knowing where to start. Thanks! I really appreciate it.
  11. I'd be ashamed to buy any of those DVDs.

Hey, fuck you, Mister 'LED laptop'! I put a guitar.
  13. I'd play co-op. Loved that. Competitive was really hit or miss. The 'story' was overrated, but the actual game was good fun.
  14. NES version may not have looked as good (or had four-player) but, like the TiT console port, it had more stages. Seems better to me. It may be nostalgia, but I also prefer the NES music.
  15. Can't really say I especially favour one over another, but since I never had a SNES (nor had I heard of the Mega Drive's Hyperstone Heist) I'd only played the first on NES and loved that. Only caught TiT (teehee) on a SNES emulator much later. I think I preferred a lot of the settings in the first, but the two games hardly played differently. The soundtrack was pretty bitchin' and I like that you can attack the only civilian in the game (take that, skateboarding whore!) At around 7:42
  16. Oh, yeah. Whoops! My bad. I guess they mean the same thing. I just figured skills go up from kills, therefore, kills for skills.
  17. No, that was 'The Arcade Game' before it. Turtles in Time had those hoverboard things.

If we're talking cars, I've always liked Ferrari and Lamborghini but I have a peculiar attraction to Jaguar (OK, it's not that peculiar). Not that I'd ever get to enjoy it. I'd have to wish to live in another country first.
  19. Oh, from Crackdown: 'Skills for kills, Agent. Skills for kills.' EDIT: Fixed due to dumb.
  20. Yeah, that bit in Lost Odyssey wasn't terribly moving but some of the short stories were really good.
  21. Yay, Bryan H and UnseenK. Welcome! Your avatar does look like 'The Man In The Lego Iron Man Mask' though, Bryan.
  22. Yeah, and it keeps an easily accessible history of your conversations. So people can haunt you with things you said from aaaaaages ago. You can also edit your messages and such; in case you're fussy about typos and things, like me.
  23. It's the IM of choice between my friends and I. I think I am: hard.boiled.gregg I'll sign in tomorrow. I'm off now.
