Hey, man. Thanks for reading! Glad you enjoyed it and cheers for the suggestions (can't believe I didn't think of having Sid's pants down on page 12! Also, that reminds me that I'm not sure 'pissing' is a very American term. Might have to change that to 'taking a leak' or some funny euphemism) Being a (very patchy) Warren Ellis fan, I have actually read most of NextWave (comic-loving friend bought the trade for me as a present ages ago, but lives far away and never actually gave it to me...so I found a torrent of most of it). I quite liked a lot of it, but some of it was terrible humour (and I should know). I was originally going for something similar in tone, but I decided to rein it in so it would be somewhat 'relatable'. I'd forgotten why I went with Channel 6 News. That's from Anchorman, right? You didn't miss a brilliant joke on page 5. Sid's sentence is meant to be interrupted by John and the last word was 'bed'. He has a dirty mind. But, man, that dialogue at the end there is terrible. I think it's because I changed it from them originally going 'Yeah, let's be a team' into something else to actually give John some sort of 'arc' but it looks too much like suddenly going 'Oh, actually, I shouldn't do this. Laters!' There is no cliffhanger because right now it is a 'feature-length' story rather than episodic. I'd definitely be interested in trying to get someone to draw it, but I think I'd need to make a little more progress first; and I have no idea what sort of money it takes. If you know anyone or where to find someone, I'd appreciate it though. Thanks again!

To be honest, I quite like a lot of the music in the Halo series. It's big, silly, grand war music and such. However, I'm not particularly fond of that ODST track. Then again, it's more suited to that game/atmosphere.

Sonic 2 and 3 have some great tracks. Lots of good memories. The menu/invincibility music from 1 and 2 is also the greatest ever.

I know it's not new, but this is a good topic and I will contribute to it someday. It's gonna take some thought, because I'd probably make two separate grids or make some attempt to combine my picks into one. Also, did you mean the topic could perhaps be a little flexible, Dean? So, instead of just doing favourites and influences, maybe you could have a grid of favourites of a certain type, from a certain platform etc. Maybe characters, or even gaming moments or themes. Those last two obviously can't be encapsulated in a small image, but that could just be a thumbnail image for a proper explanation? Or is that stealing possibilities for other topics?

Nic Cage got fired from The Green Hornet because he wanted to play his part with a Jamaican accent. Firstly, that's clearly pretty dumb (he's no Gary Oldman ) Secondly, the part was some sort of villain, possibly one called Chupnofsky, that Christoph Waltz is now playing; definitely does not call for a Jamaican accent. But then, maybe he wanted to find some way to 'dissociate' himself from the film. -

I don't know about notifications (that might get kinda annoying) but you can see 'Recent Comments' on the dashboard. That's where I always find them.

The magic is pretty basic stuff. There's one for shooting fire, one for putting yourself in a protective bubble, one for knocking people (sometimes objects) over/away from you, one for 'cursing' or manipulating enemies. Don't think you can combine them. The alchemy was cool for giving you buffs and other perks (night-vision, thermal vision). I really think a sort of Monster Hunter-esque game could work really well, using some of these aspects. I think the actual novels the games are based on are quite good. Well, the short story collection is really good (and the first one was used as the game's intro video, and you run into one of the character's during the game), while the big continuous story is still undergoing translation into English so is a little 'bare' right now. The translation has been really good so far though.

Well, he wasn't really saying you're a noob. Just that your observation was 'off' (and from the sounds of it, I kinda agree with him, but I've not played it, so...) I mean, I get that part of the gameplay is tricking people into thinking you're an NPC; but I can see how having time limits runs contrary to that mechanic. Since it encourages quantity of kills over quality.
