I'd just like to see a shooter game where the world is open and fully deformable. Dynamic lighting, fully destructable environments, deformable terrain. I'd just really like to see a shooter where nothing is truly static or immovable.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant was were there plans to finish translating the main saga of books.

DRM, Online Pass, Project Ten Dollar and the like

Artificial may have been the wrong word. It really does devalue the game and I agree with that. What I mean is that it's a forced devaluing of a game as opposed to the natural devaluing of a used product. It probably should make the trade in value of the game decrease and the resell value of the game decrease but even then you're only hurting the original customer of your game and not the person who is buying it used or the reseller. There may be a short period of time where uninformed purchasers will buy games without realizing the limitations of those used games but that will change. Customers wont get snake bit multiple times. It seems like bad business to devalue your product to it's intended purchaser. -

I fail to see how the mark up on used games is related to online pass artifically devaluing used games. Also, from what I can tell there is no retail release of DiRT 3 on the PC. The only places I can find it for sale is on Steam and other digital sites. Is this going to be a new trend? -
Sorry, I thought there were a lot of books that still hadn't been localized.
-
So are there any plans to localize the Witcher books to other languages?

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me one bit but I would still be sad. To me Halo Reach was fun but I ended up kind of wanting the formula to change a bit. I just don't see a remake of the original Halo getting me excited. We're only one generation separated from the original.

I would be disappointed if Halo is a remake of CE or if it's a Kinect game. I'd really like to see the franchise move in a new direction.

DiRT 3 just signals codemasters entry into Online Pass. Looks like it's here to stay. I wonder now just how long it will take for online pass to become more restrictive. I was pretty shocked when Supreme Commander 2 shipped with only half of the game on the DVD and the other half had to be downloaded from online. I can't help but wonder if that's going to happen very soon where if you buy the game used you have to pay a $10 fee just to play the game period. I mean, why not? -
Yeah, AC:Bloodlines wasn't all bad other than the controls. Hopefully these games will utilize the 2nd thumbstick.

Does not compute.....

Yeah, it seems to be a continual rumor. Also given the new revalation of PSP remasters I'd like to see an announcement that Peace Walker will be one of those titles. It seems like the most obvious candidate of all.

Bioshock is so funny to me. It's one of those games that everyone seemingly loved to death when it came out. Critics collectively pooped their pants over it. Now everyone seems to agree that it's not all that great.

This would not surprise me: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/44439/360-tipped-for-Stereoscopic-3D Gotta love those anonymous sources.

A much belated to you sir.

The only way that I can see that helping onlive is if the games are something that could only be rendered server side. I really doubt that a little startup like onlive has the money to produce multiple AAA games though.

Pirates 4 was great but I love all the Pirates films so bear that in mind. I just finished Tron: Legacy. I found it enjoyable. I think the music/atmosphere were a large part of it for me though. Sometimes the world can actually make a movie with an average plot better.

Yeah, and then as soon as you come back and you're like "Fuck yeah, motherfuckers, it's on, you fucking Covenant are going DOWN!" the game ends. I saw a video interview before Halo 3 came out where the interviewer asked one of the Bungie guys about people throwing their controllers in rage at the end of Halo 2, and the Bungie guy said "I don't think anyone threw their controller with rage, they may have dropped it in amazement..." No, I fucking threw my controller in rage. Literally. And I don't usually do that at games. Ditto. I heard that comment by the Bungie guy as well and thought "you're a complete idiot".

Yeah, I think it's more just that as just a movie and nothing more Scott Pilgrim is a very abrasive mashup of pop culture references. As fan service I'm told it's awesome though.
-
Yeah, that was the other thing that I hated about Halo 2 was I thought it was going to be a defend earth game and you were off of earth after 2-3 hours.
-
I liked the new Pirates movie. Then again I like all the Pirates movies.

Going back a few pages I'd like to say that Halo 2 has no place on here because of the atrocious ending. Halo 3 was really my favorite because of the beloved replay system. It should be a mandatory feature of all online FPS games.

That's very cool. Dev support can make all the difference. Look at TF2. It's dead on XBox but on the PC it's alive and well.
-
It had a good story, good characters. The whole action RPG style at the time was very revolutionary. It's pretty much the same reason everyone loves Mass Effect now except that you got to be a Jedi which was even better IMO. It was also far more accessible than any other WRPG had ever been. So much less reading, inventory management and stat building.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm interested in. I never got to play Peace Walker.
