  1. I mixed up uzbekistan and tajikistan, as well as Oman and Yemen. But aside from that I got them all right. I blame it on my love for staring at maps.
  2. I love my m11x. You can usually find good deals for the m11x on the dell website. If you're a student you also get a discount.
  3. It's Thirsty Thursday! What are you punks drinking?

  4. I'm anticipating the Dragon Age 2 demo, and I'm very much hoping that everyone's wrong and they haven't lost the tactical combat in favor of the action-oriented combat, but I am fearful. The half an hour PC gameplay video allayed my fears that DA would turn into a button mash-y God of War ripoff. It just seems that active talents are more plentiful and require less cooldown for fighters, and that the pace of combat is a bit faster than it could be in DA:O. I'm more disappointed in the lack of armor customization options for NPC's. This disappointment may well be made up for if it turns out there are many significant decisions the player can make that are also significant to the gameworld. That is, if the game is centered on Kirkwall over a decade or so, I want to see my decisions have a strong effect on the development of Kirkwall. I also am sorta geeking out over the day/night option. It's a neat way to add some variety, so long as content isn't thinly spread.
  5. You send flowers to your facebook? I think I'm not understanding something.
  6. Fuck, I love NYC, even if it means I gotta ride the subway home from Brooklyn at 2:00am across from a drunk homeless dude sitting on the bench with his pants partially down and spanking himself. In a train full of people who say NOTHING

Be glad you're taking the train home at 2AM. While I love Japanese trains more than any other for of transporation...I'm not a fan of missing last train, which is well before 2AM.

  7. You're going to team up with a boyfriend to stalk/seduce a woman? That's a very aggressive menage a trois strategy you got there....
  8. What are you schlubs and schlub-ettes doing for the Hallmark-mandated holiday celebrating sexytime?
  9. Her's a gameplay video. My link I think it's the PC version, but I'm not sure. Also features a female Hawke.
  10. I don't give a fuck if Bash is a nice guy. I also do not give a fuck about the content of his articles, except insofar as it may be really, really fucking old news. Kotaku can publish what it wants; "off-topic" shit does not bother me. People like the sort of bullshit Bash writes about and that's cool. What does bother me is that Bashcraft cannot write a coherent article. He add zero, nada, zip, zilch to anything he writes about. Indeed, his godawful writing makes the shit he writes less interesting than it would otherwise. The man should not be paid to write for a fucking high-traffic blog. It's insulting to people who can actually write.
  11. Well, it's imported directly from PC made in 2006 or earlier. I have a feeling that console manufacturers don't like the relationship you describe and will continue to move further and further from it. We won't see a new console generation, until PC gaming starts cutting into console game sales. Well, except Ninty might barf out a new console because PC it tries hard as fuck to be independent from PC gaming.
  12. Is it wrong that I take pride in my successful trolling of the Magic: The Gathering Kotaku article?

I looked it up, pretty good. And yeah they're gonna lose quite a bit from none of the tags working correctly.

bit of functionality. (i.e troll patrol, tips and lifting comments from #speakup)

  13. How so? I mean, it's looking decent, I guess, but I don't see that many huge or awesome PC games in the pipe.
  14. It seems pretty cool but also seems to be only worth playing through once. It's my most anticipated rental in a long, long time, though.
  15. I'm far more concerned about the effects of automobile exhaust than secondhand smoke in public. Like, waaaaaay far more concerned.
  16. It is actually Gawker mandate now that all videos will autoplay in articles. Apparently it is a COO decision to "make Gawker more like TV." There is no way for the editors to disable it. io9's autoplay videos at least defaulted to being mute at one point. I think the goal is to sell ads on the front end of the autoplay videos. I guess the autoplay is just to condition users to, well, the concept of annoying autoplay videos. It's just another throwback to the Old Web Design of 1998 and its use of autoplay midis embedded into Angelfire or Geocities web sites. It matches the terrible and atavistic frames in that way.
  17. I love coffee more than any other drink. I used to have at least one largish coffee a day, whether it was made in my french press, stovetop coffeemaker, at Starbucks, at Caribou, at SBC, or anywhere else. But a couple years ago I noticed that it was wrecking my digestive tract. So now I only have a ittle on rare and treasured occasions. Moral of the story: Be careful not to overdo it.
  18. I know I'm usually the first one to savage Kotaku writers and eds for their numbskullery, but the redesign was foisted upon them. I kinda feel bad for them, especially if the redesign is a failure and ad revenue drops. Well, I'll never feel bad for Ashcraft, but I think I could pity the rest of those yahoos.
  19. Turkey ham and an onion bagel because I am a dynamic and exciting breakfaster.
  20. Ooh yeah, baby. Toggle my Staaaaaaarrrrrr!
  21. Difference here is I don't pay for XBL and the only way I get DLC is when they are bundled with the full game and on sale. I'm simply not paying a monthly fee for anything that I may or may not use. I take the same approach even to things like gym memberships. Hear hear! And gyms don't have the habit of ending suddenly a few months after opening. Also, they're good for you.
  22. Yeah, it's still not really a forum and it's terribly formatted. I was just 'splaining the new aversion to TAY Gappoi by Kotaku staff.
  23. Part of the redesign is supposedly a more forum-like #speakup. I can see how promoting an actual forum would ruffle their feathers a little bit.
  24. I'm feeling ornery this fine Friday. Like I want to get into teenage trouble.

  25. I never played Victoria or HOI2. I started with EU3; I'm sort of a n00b when it comes to Paradox games. I made up for it by buying the most current versions of their grand strategy games. I like Vicky 2 the best, though that might just be because it's the newest to me. I like clawing my way up from being a minor state to being a Great Power. I also like the tech spread in Vicky 2 the best. On the other hand, I like the complex army system in HOI3 for reasons I cannot fully explain. It's like org charts moving around on maps hypnotize me or something.
