  1. Yeah, there's totally a day night cycle and Aloy makes pithy comments on the transitions. I guess spending your first couple decades as an outcast only three or four people will speak to makes you more likely to talk to yourself in aphorisms.
  2. A worrying video about Breath of the Wild. https://goo.gl/CLRKgJ
  3. Yeah, this is the only game on Wii U/Switch that even remotely interests me.
  4. I don't disbelieve the reviews. But it doesn't look like it's worth buying a Ninty console for.
  5. Man, some of the robot dinosaurs just wreck you if you if you're careless.
  6. In response to Mal's spoiler: Edit:
  7. Oh yeah. With all the talk about how excited people are to give Nintendo money these days, I forgot that they are terrible.
  8. HZD is super video game-y, which is not a bad thing at all. Oh, it's also apparent pretty early on that HZD is not Far Cry: Primal: Robot dinosaurs.
  9. I like that you publicly post your plans to defraud Best Buy. Digital downloads on dead consoles 4 EVA.
  10. Played through the intro zone in this last night. It's pretty neat, so far. Looks good, runs well on the PS4 slim, and the gameplay is fun. The art design is generally great, including human characters' faces. The facial animations, though, are sometimes strange and off-putting, but it's not consistent. It's like they had two teams doing the facial animations and one was competent and the other was made up of people who can't read facial expressions very well at all. The voice acting is spotty, too. Aloy is consistently excellent, but some of the other characters' voices and affect just don't match how their characters look or the setting. It's nowhere near like Oblivion or Skyrim levels of terrible, but it's noticeable, especially after playing games with better voice acting. It's also jarring because I think the writing is pretty good overall. I might sound like I'm complaining, but I'm not; I really enjoyed playing through the long intro section and it's clear that just barely scratches the surface of gameplay and combat options and strategies. Killing robot dinosaurs is satisfying as all get-out.

    Steam

The easiest way to deal with that issue is just to get a real PC gamepad. I love my DualShock controllers, but got fed up with hassle and incompatibility with older games, so I bought a USB gamepad with rumble.
  12. That's because they're actually sending you the Switch version.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo made fewer Wii U copies in the hopes the greater availability of Switch files might drive Switch sales. Could you get a digital Wii U version?
  14. Durex is condoms here, too. Shirty condoms, to be sure.
  15. That's Dutch as hell.
  16. Just get a Switch, too, like you know you want to.
  17. Torment: Tides of Numera is finally here!

  18. Torment: Tides of Numera is finally here!

  19. I should be clear; I really enjoyed the nemesis system and I wish another developer would refine it for a different IP. I will wait for reviews and a price drop to get the sequel, probably.
  20. It wasn't Dunaway's fault; someone backstage handed Beatty the backup Best Actress envelope and Dunaway thought Beatty was goofing around, so she just read the movie title without seeing Emma Stone's name at the top. Somebody at Pricewaterhouse Coopers has hell to pay.
  21. LOL. I'm way more hyped for Torment: Tides of Numenera, and I still have to finish my current Dragon Age: Inquisition playthrough before I dive into my new games.
  22. Not surprising, since the Switch is really just an expensive portable.
  23. I forgot about the Sauron boss fight. So dumb. I think they could have set Shadows of Mordor in the Second Age, or, if they wanted tons of different baddies, the First Age. It would be cool to play as an elf fighting against Morgoth's hordes, and it would also make sense to have balrogs in the mix, as well as different types of dragons.
