I always assumed that sort of thing would happen. It's not Far Cry Primal: Robots.

I haven't checked, but the smart money is on @tornadocreator. Edit: I checked, read a bunch of his tweets, and wondered why I wasted my time.

You didn't expect giant mecha? The game's about dinosaur-sized robots. :\ I am actually interested in this game and am gaming out how to explain my purchase of a PS4 to my wife.

Sweet gentle Jesus, it is taking all of my willpower not to look for him on Twitter and reddit. His madness was bad enough here.

I dunno. How can they rejigger it in a way that makes the GOP happy that also doesn't blow it up? It will be interesting to see what Trump's plan will be and how many fantasies and lies it will be based upon.

The shows are official canon for the purposes of getting people invested in them. But they really don't matter when it comes to the movies because Disney does not want to scare people away by making the movies rely on non-movie narratives. I think we all agree about this, yes? I tried to follow The Clone Wars, as I have said elsewhere, but the episodes I saw were utter kids TV show garbage. I'm not gonna spend hours of my life filtering through just so I can argue about how crap Darth Maul was as a villain. Maybe he was better in the TV show, but that matters not a whit to me, you're right. It also does not really matter a whit to the movie continuity.

I am kind of dreading finishing ME2 and moving onto ME3. I do not think 3 will hold up.
-
Ethan: I got the power estimate from pre-reveal hypothesizing. If it's really only a little more powerful than the Wii U, its price is not just dumb but outrageous.
-
The throwaway references to Rebels didn't bother me because they're not important at all. Saw Gerrera is a different story, because he didn't seem very fleshed out as a character at all. I thought his inclusion was weak. I attributed it to the reshoots cutting/changing a lot of his stuff, but if his role was circumscribed and vague so that it wouldn't conflict with the cartoons, well, that just goes to show that the movies should not be altered to fit the EU.

I hope the new team of writers has improved since ME3. I replayed the Tali recruit mission in ME2 last night and I forgot how it, among a lot of the worlds you scan, heavily foreshadowed some sort of stellar-scale shenanigans beyond (or maybe originally related to) the Reapers' return. There are all these implied descriptions of previous alien races' attempts at stellar engineering or doing wacky or foreboding things to entire planets, things beyond the capabilities of the Council races.

Actually, I think the Switch is Nintendo's attempt to "double-down on actual gamers," as Cowboy puts it. But I don't think it brings anything new to the table for core gamers, other than local mutliplayer. But for that to support the console, it needs a lower price point and a broad variety of local multiplayer content beyond branded content. It also should be worrisome for Nintendo investors that the Switch is essentially as powerful as the rest of the next-gen consoles, but shackled by performance in mobile mode. It's telling that the only third-party open world game for the thing is from 2011.

Yes; Rogue One pleased me. But the EU has not pleased me since the mid-90's, when I didn't know any better.

Bringing up prequel shenanigans to defend Darth Maul is funny, because the prequels are 90% utter garbage. Grievous was cool in the superlative Genndy Tartakovsky series, but sort of goofy in RotS. Thrawn in the new continuity is also terrible fan service.
-
The Switch is, fundamentally, a mobile gaming device. It's not a real console. I'm not sure that's a bad thing, although the price is hilarious. I can get a PS4 bundle with Uncharted 4 for less.
-
As I've said elsewhere, the Star Wars TV shows have as much impact on the movies as Agents of Shield has on the MCU. They're both afterthoughts meant to monetize the properties, not essential canon narratives.
-
None of you even mention the tiny, cramped separated Joy Con controllers that look less comfortable than even the Wii mote. But, yeah. The Switch doesn't look like it will reverse Nintendo's fortunes.
-
Darth Maul is a boring rubbish villain designed to sell toys. It's obvious on its face. Resurrecting him was just an example of the egregious bullshit fan service a lot of EU stuff indulged in. Don't even get me started about the many bullshit uses of Mandalorians in EU media, either.

You're in bed at 10? LAME.

Triple post! ME2 is way jankier than I remembered. I forgot how easy it is to get stuck on level geometry, and I forgot about the infamous hallway on Ilium and the Kasumi DLC crashes. And that the fix for the Kasumi crash causes crashes later if you don't undo it.
-
It's really nice playing through ME2 on PC with gamepad support.
-
Apparently, this will not have a season pass, according to a dev on Twitter. It remains to be seen how they will gouge fans on DLC pricing.

Ah, but when you have good dipping sauces, the crust can be the nicest part of the meal!

Forum is acting weird. Hitman GO looks like it's $1.99. But it's actually free. Weird.

grabbed. nice.

I don't pirate games. Plus the only story DLC I'm missing is Arrival, which I think was more exciting before ME3 dropped.
