  1. Fallout 4 is just a weekend and Monday away, people! Time to set up my VPN so I can start playing early Monday evening.

I don't care what they have, it can't be cooler than airships.

      Mr. GOH!

Well, what about cooler airships than the Brohoods?

      That's the ONE THING.

  2. The Brotherhood had airships in earlier FO games (Tactics). The majority of the Brotherhood is also more rabidly into hoarding tech (because the War showed that most people should not be trusted with high tech) rather than being the post-apocalyptic equivalent of a DnD order of paladins out to right wrongs and battle injustice, as they appeared to be in FO3. it makes sense that the Brotherhood would want to find the Institute and destroy it and the synths.
  3. LA Noire was the worst with that. The latest Bioware games have been better at communicating the tone your character will take, but still be vague as to the actual content. I just finished the trespasser DA:I DLC, and there were a couple of responses the Inquisitor spoke that didn't line up with what I thought I had chosen, but nothing too major.
  4. Since you get hot and bothered by the perks and FO character building, here's tool to let you plan out FO4 character builds, Ethan. http://www.rpg-gaming.com/fo4.html
  5. It's your typical MMO garbage, in my experience.
  6. Yeah, I don't get it, either.
  7. The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth can go straight to fucking hell for taking Team Meat's valuable time when they should be finishing Mewgenics.
  8. Here are all the perks typed out so you don't have to play n pause various leaked videos. http://www.vg247.com/2015/11/02/fallout-4-all-perks-revealed-by-latest-leak-and-what-they-mean-for-your-character/
  9. Lots of nostalgia for Nightmare Before Christmas, though. It stood out from other Xmas and/or Halloween movies when I was growing up. Gremlins distinguishes itself similarly. Bridge of Spies. I really felt the dissonance in how Steven Spielberg approaches directing and the Coen Bros.' screenwriting sensibilities. There are a handful of scenes that feel like they belong in a Coen Bros. wonderful period pieces littered throughout a movie that was otherwise high Spielbergian pathos and maudlin sentimentality. But it's an entertaining and well-constructed high Spielbergian pathos and maudlin sentimentality. Mark Rylance is, as usual, fantastic. Tom Hanks really Tom Hanks it up, which is totally lovable and adorable. The always-good Jesse Plemons is criminally underused in a thankless role. The acting was excellent all around. It is also, like 90% of Spielberg's output, overlong by 5 to 10 minutes of dumb and completely unneeded sappiness tacked onto the end.
  10. Got it for 20% via GMG. I am ready to explore the Boston Wasteland.
  11. I really hate that the Descent features combat that relies on the enemies having a billion hit points for difficulty.
  12. Wasteland 2 Director's Cut. Interesting and really full of that old-school vibe, even down to sort of ridiculous settings and story elements that would feel right at home in an early 90's game. I play the game zoomed all the way out, so it looks fine, although my characters are kind of indistinct. You can outfit them with clothing hat makes each look distinct from the others without changing combat stats, which is nice. Bow on to Divinity: Original Sin's enhanced edition until fallout 4.
  13. I've never found Mysterious Stranger all that helpful.
  14. Hand pie might be a Southern term. I've seen it used by by Texan bbq restaurants' traveling teams at bbq festivals. Sadly, I think most Americans would think of them as hot pockets.
  15. Watching that made my day measurably worse, Thursday.
  16. I know I'm playing into Disney's viral marketing campaign, but here's John Boyega's reaction to the trailer. I'd have a similar reaction to seeing myself wield a lightsaber, I think.
  17. Full trailer for Jessica Jones. Looks like it could be another good Netflix/Marvel team-up!
  18. I bet there won't be any major differences. Between the consoles, I mean. PC will be the best by leaps and bounds. I'm just waiting for the inevitable last-minute GMG preorder discount.
  19. TExan just sounds bombastic and ignorant to most other Americans. George W. Bush spoke with a (fake) Texan accent. I think Angie Harmon has a sort of flat non-specific accent.
  20. What, which New York accent? There are at least 3 or 4 "New York" mainstream/iconic accents, some of which aren't really in existence any more. For example, both Robert DeNior and Woody Allen have New York accents, but they're very different-sounding.
  21. China is as ethnically diverse as the whole of Europe; you could break it down by ethnicity (1/32 Han, 1/2 Cantonese, 1/16 Fujian, etc). I'm half Scottish (with some English thrown in further back;the Scottish half is split 3/4 clan Campbell and 1/4 clan Blair) and half "German," although the "German" half is mixed evenly between Swiss German and Eastern European diaspora German (the millenium-long diaspora ended after WW2 when the Eastern block relocated ethnic Germans in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Russia, and so on to Eastern Germany). I consider myself a generic white Midwestern American, although I like to proclaim my membership in clan Campbell whenever I drink a bunch of Scotch.
  22. When I said I wanted a SP Star Wars game, I did not mean I wanted a token Battlefront SP campaign, to be fair. And I don't really expect the BF games to have meaningful SP, nor do I think they should. Just because I'm not a fan of MP doesn't mean there shouldn't be MP games. I'm not buying this because MP-only = no buy from Mr. GOH!, of course. Mal: I would imagine both FO4 and SWBF to have fairly long tails when it comes to discussion. If anything, I think SWBF will be make a better late purchase if you really value discussion, as MP games get futzed with and have new content often enough that commentary remains liveley, I'd imagine. Plus there aren't any real spoilers for MP games like this, which is not the case with FO4. I guess I'm saying that you should get FO4 instead of this at launch.
  23. They sent someone (or paid a Western freelancer who was in Japan anyway) who has never played Uncharted 2 and who doesn't speak Japanese to the TGS? Idiots.
  24. Wasteland 2: Director's Cut? Don't mind if I do!

      Mr. GOH!

I haven't tried it yet, but apparently it's very controller-friendly. I'm kind of surprised about that.

    3. Vecha

      Vecha

I've actually started playing the ps4 version...camera is slightly wonky, but not horrible.

      loving it so far!

Word. Glad it handles well with a controller!

What sort of party did you roll?
