  1. Specially designed for co-op, sure.
  2. I suspect that both this and Destiny will me hugely MP-focused, more so than MMOs. I think you will be able to solo in both, but neither will feel like an SP game. I'm sure it will feel akin to playing a multiplayer match against bots.
  3. I would rather square release expensive phone remakes of classic games than institute bullshit modern phone gaming microtransactions. I'll prolly buy it once I'm done with the android versions of ffIV and FF5 (the latter of which I never got past the first crystal).
  4. Watch Dogs officially delayed to an unspecified date on the Wii U. Ubi just doesn't want to put the Wii U version out of its misery, it seems.

The other versions will be out by the end of June, according to Ubi. Maybe in April or May, even.

It's going to take time to strip multiplayer out of that game for Wii U.

It's going to take time to wait until there are enough Wii Us to ensure that Ubi doesn't lose money by finishing and releasing it.

  5. That seems fast. And cheap at $15. Is this a smaller game than classic JRPGs?
  6. There have always been large groups of folks in the US who haven't spoken English and the attendant, ridiculous hatred from groups of english-speaking Americans.Used to be German, Italian, or Polish, rather than Spanish, but idiots are eternal.
  7. I can never get excited for any Olympics. Great athletes and all, but I have little desire to watch any of it. The Winter Olympics is even more boring than the summer Olympics. But the Sochi shitshow is fantastic to watch! The Russian kleptocracy's general corruption and resultant massive incompetence is a sight to behold.
  8. Played through some of it and plan to get back to it soon. Just played through episode 2 of wolf among us. Pretty fun, if you like that sort of game. Getting to be able to recognize the telltale voice acting crew pretty quickly, though. Never realized that Clementine was actually voiced by a woman in her 30's; she also voices Toad Junior and Beauty TWAU.
  9. Ah, didn't realize you do crim law. Lengthy hearings and review makes sense.
  10. What sort of hearing? I have never had an entire day cleared for a single hearing (unless trials are considered hearings). I mean, the weather forecast for tomorrow prompted adjournments of two federal conferences and a state court hearing, all of which I was scheduled to do.
  11. Snow day yesterday and tomorrow! Which means I just have to work from home. Having a job that's mostly research and writing sucks sometimes.
  12. You resigned and the game is still going on and your troops are in impossible places.
  13. They have announced that casuals rule and fans of classic Nintendo games rule and that they will switch gears to making games along the lines of Nintendogs, Cookign Mama, and every terrible third party fitness game ever. As an added bonus, you will be able to check out the new games through adverapps on your phone!
  14. One of the problems Nintendo faces is that its fanbase is vocal and small, so Nintendo hears endless good things about itself when it looks for opinions, but that feedback does not match up to sales enough to sustain a budget home console at a premium price point in the current very competitive marketplace. Nintendo is just now realizing that they have to look for new customers somewhere, so it is inevitable their new direction will alienate current fans. This inures to my benefit because I enjoy seeing fanboys come to grips with the harsh reality that they have grossly overestimated the worth of their fandom to their favorite company or brand. I also enjoy seeing the delusional brought to sudden, cruel clarity. I enjoy the reactions of Nintendo fanboys in the same way I enjoyed seeing Y2K panickers deal with an uneventful January 1, 2000, or the followers of Harold Camping deal with the fact the world went on as it always had after May 21, 2011.
  15. I hope when Nintendo says its new fitness platform is "non-wearable" they really mean it's injectable or ingestible or some other insane thing.

That's not the Dr. Mario game I want to play. D:

  16. What do you mean the Wii U has no GameCube games? WindWaker was a rousing success and revitalized the platform!
  17. Everything the WSJ is reporting seems like piecemeal bullshit that won't solve the fundamental problem for the Wii U: casual gamers find more and better entertainment services and games on their phones and tablets. The fitness product is probably the right move for Nintendo. But it's a step away from making traditional Nintendo games beloved by the vocal Nintendo diehards. I wonder how they'll react to this.
  18. Big university gyms are totally a shitshow, but the NYC YMCA I go to is pretty packed, especially now with all the new years resolution members. Not blaming or shaming you, W&S; I was shitty about going to the gym for years. And having one convenient to me makes a HUGE difference. A home weight area is great, though you shouldn't forget cardio. The most important thing is to keep at it!
  19. Looks like Nintendo fans will get just what they want: more games aimed at children! http://www.cubed3.com/news/20387/1/iwata-nintendo-not-aiming-at-children-enough.html Double post because the previous was more than 24 hours ago
  20. On the syntagmatic level of your utterances, you did not say anything about Toad's nature or the comics. Of course, it is inescapable that Toad is a minor villain in the X-Men film franchise and that my exaggeration of your intent was a self-evident attempt at humor.
  21. It's past Toad, because he's being played by a different actor than X-Men Toad. Only past Wolverine is played by the same actor. QE to the motherfucking D. Also: this argument is ridiculous and nerdy, with FDS all like "You don't know shit, MBM, because you misidentified the nature of a minor villain character in an as-yet unreleased movie. Do you even read comic books?" and MBM being all like "I made an honest mistake, but it's not my fault at all! Let me keep telling you it's not my fault!" and Dean coming in all like "your sources are shit, FDS, do you even nerd?"
  22. W&S: I start work around 9am (out of the house by 8:30am, sometimes earlier, as early as 7am) and, as in the past few weeks, work until 8pm or 9pm and then go to the gym before I get to come home. It's all about making fitness a priority and training yourself to not be lazy. To be fair, usually I'm at the gym around 6:30pm after working from 9:30am-ish.
  23. Agreed. It was a dumb plan. It would be smart to increase their targeted marketing presence via smartphones and tablets, somehow, but that alone will not save the Wii U or appreciably increase the sales of 3DS units and software.
  24. I'm open to whatever. I could host a Risk-esque game on Warfish. I love the Middle Earth board, as it supports up to 8 players. It's huge.
