  1. I don't know about e-shop prices over there (is there a way to see this? Web and console only show me Mexican prices), but Fate Extella and Fate Extella Link are 700 pesos each, which is $30 at the current exchange rate. If you like the Warriors games, or games in that style I recommend those. Mind you these are the digital versions, don't know about the physical versions.
  2. DOOM 2016 Hesitated to include this because I had already finished it before, but this is the last of the DOOM games I own since my order of DOOM Eternal got (understandably) delayed, so here it is. It's still awesome, can't wait for Eternal, though I'm worried about how skill-shot focused it seems to be.
  3. Different eyes and some doodles because I don't know what to draw/practice next.
  4. The governor of Puebla: "Coronavirus is a rich people disease, it'll only affect rich people, us poor people need not worry about it, we are immune to it". How do these people end up in positions of power? (I mean, I know how, but HOW?!) Also a some stores are being looted already, people claim they're only taking food and medicines, but the security videos clearly show them piling up TVs, consoles and other stuff like that.
  5. Not sure the part about going out and enjoying life still applies, but the general message of not drowning ourselves in all the negative/doomsday/fatalistic news is still some good advice. So uplifting.
  6. Hey! We're now officially in stage 2! That means they now recognise there's been local cases, not only those that came from other countries. https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/nacion/politica/mexico-entra-fase-2-por-coronavirus-o-covid-19 Last night Gatell, the undersecretary of health said this in response to the WHO stating that had already detected local cases "It's too early to tell, and we're not just going to jump from one stage to another just like that". That aged well. Meanwhile, in Veracruz, medics at an IMSS hospital have gone on strike, because they don't have enough supplies for what's going on, even less for what's coming. http://informante.mx/?p=13540&fbclid=IwAR0yw_I4dKp-dPmza3Xa2NWtiKrqi7Mdb_-OqAt3ARwbsV4otrszeqjrwwg I've also given up on trying to get my family to take this seriously. At best they nod and smile while I tell them stuff only to go on and ignore everything I just said, at worst they actually get angry, thinking that they can go on like normal, and that any attempt at explaining why "normal" doesn't apply anymore (at least not for the foreseeable future), is some kind of attack on them. Pointing out how things are in other countries, using evidence of what can happen if you get sick, how you can infect others, etc. None of that matters to them. WHO, NHS, CDC, they don't care about their recommendations or warnings, then again, I don't know what I expected from people who believe homeopathy is a valid science, and that magnets can somehow cure whatever ails you. It sucks, and it hurts, but I don't know where to go from here other than "well, you do you I guess".
  7. On a federal level, no. https://www.elimparcial.com/mexico/AMLO-pide-no-dejar-de-salir-ante-pandemia-de-coronavirus-20200322-0163.html The president telling people they should still go out, eat at a restaurant, take their family on a field trip, do their normal stuff because "there's no reason to worry, I'll tell you when to stay home". Fernandez NoroƱa claimed this is a "right-wing conspiracy" to destroy the economy by making people believe they should stay home. On the other hand, state and city governments have started to close everything, asking people to not go out and implementing other measures. So at least there's some people actually trying to do something. Even if our president and his associates still live in their imaginary world.
  8. So here's something else to add to the ever growing list of things that are going to make this worse: https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/estados/entregame-el-gel-antibacterial-o-te-macheteo-hombre-roba-tienda-en-campeche Some dude in Campeche went into a store, and threatened the employees with a machete, he was looking for hand sanitizer. We're headed for a recession, oil prices are fucking everything else, and now a virus is going around. Certain parts are already far from safe, this thing is just going to make everything worse ain't it? How long until we go full Mad Max?
  9. Second season of Blue Book has been a thing, certainly leaning towards late X-Files. There's been some really good episodes though.
  10. Nuevo Leon's Governor "El Bronco" announced they will ignore the federal government and perform tests for every suspicious case, they're also working with private hospitals to ensure they don't charge exaggerated fees for their tests. Jalisco's Enrique Alfaro has called for a 5 day quarantine, asking people to not leave home. They also announced that they will make sure that people who can't work still get paid. The president insists nothing will be done on a federal level and that there won't be any payments for people who can't work. Some hospitals are having issues, doctors are protesting, because they don't have gloves, masks, medicines, etc. Medical interns in several hospitals are denouncing that they're being sent to work without proper measures in place to protect them. They placed an inflatable hospital in the city where I live, it's meant to be so that the rest of the hospitals can continue working normally, while COVID-19 patients get sent there. It has received 10 patients so far, not confirmed, but suspicious, we'll see what comes out of it.
  11. Governor Omay Fayad has issued a statement, all night clubs, bars, markets, stores, etc. are to close or otherwise suspend their activities, only grocery stores will remain open. http://hidalgo.gob.mx/ This is in defiance to federal government who continue to refuse any actions. In more personal notes, my mom and aunt continue to not give a shit, they wash their hands often, but continue to go out, hang out with other people, go to crowded places and in general, the opposite of isolation, quarantine or any other measure to protect oneself and others. ?
  12. From here, no trust, 0, nada. From what I've seen, it works like this: You go to the doctor, the doctor says you have the symptoms and should be tested, you get tested either with your doctor or in a hospital, if you're positive, in order to get the results added to the numbers coming out from the country, the INDRE has to send someone to conduct the test. However, doctors are reporting that it can take days for them to send someone, IF they send someone at all. "Our protective shield is the 'stop right there', the 'stop right there' will protect us. 'Stop right there' is honesty, not allowing corruption anymore, that's what will protect us. Here's the 'stop right there' *pulls out religious thingamabob* see... 'stop right there enemy, for Jesus is with me'" That's just a part of it, the whole thing is just... It'd be funny it this guy weren't the president, as it stands it's more of a surreal dark comedy horror movie. Then the undersecretary of health had this to say: "If a school has 1000 children, and one of the gets sick, we can close the school, and the other 999 children won't get stick and it'd be good. But if we wait, until 100 children get sick, THEN we close the school, it's more effective, because those 100 kids can't infect anyone else, and so on, if we have 250 sick children, or 500 sick children, the longer we wait, the more effective our strategy" The first case in the city I live has been confirmed, as well as one case in a nearby city. Interesting days ahead. Edit: It gets worse, the government has banned all hospitals and laboratories from performing tests.
  13. https://i.imgur.com/rqrnmKh.jpg For some reason I can't get this thing to show up. Anyway, here's an attempt at the arachnotron from DOOM Eternal, need to clean it up add details and shadows, not a bad start though, IMO.
  14. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-16/amlo-won-t-stop-hugging-mexican-fans-amid-accelerating-pandemic Good thing these trips are important, vital even, to the safety of our country. When asked if the president turned out to be infected, but without symptoms, and his visits to marginalised communities could expose people vulnerable to the virus the undersecretary of health said: "The strength of our president is a moral one, not a contagious one" I don't even know what the fuck that means. Curiously, if you watch conferences where the dude is alone or with other experts, he seems to know what he's talking about, when in front of the president though... Well, that tweet explains itself.
  15. DOOM 3: Man did this game not age well. I used to think it was not a bad game, just a different DOOM game. After playing it again after several years... Not sure that holds up. While I didn't have any technical issues, outside of an imp that phased through the floor, the biggest problem with this game is that it uses the exact same jumpscares/spawns/creepy stuff, in the exact same way a ton of times. There's something to be said about every game being "repetitive" but the difference is in the execution, here, the first time you open a door and a demon jumps at you is scary, the third or fourth time it happens, it's annoying, by the end of the game I was just numb, I didn't feel anything, it was just "Oh, there's a door, I opened the door, oh look, another demon." This is all coming from me, someone who is jumpy like a pogo stick, I'll jump out of my chair while playing a Ghost Recon game, and somehow DOOM 3 managed to make me numb to every scary thing it tries. It also gets to a point where you can predict when enemies will spawn and where, you can even tell which enemies will spawn making every encounter feel like a chore. The story was cool though, I liked how Swann and Campbell look like the shady guys behind the conspiracy, but end up being pretty cool dudes. DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil: Still suffers from many of the issues that DOOM 3 had in regards to jumpscares and enemy spawns, but it being shorter means you don't get annoyed by that stuff that much. It also added the super-shotgun so that automatically makes it better than the base game. I like to think that both the marine and Dr. McNeil survived, since the marine from DOOM 3 just sort of got sent back from hell and all. DOOM 3 The Lost Mission: Super short and actually quite fun, the last boss was more fun than the Maledict from RoE, if only because there were no lava pits/cliffs to kill you. A complaint that I have about all the games is that the auto-aim thingy can be annoying and there's no way to adjust it, trying to shoot a barrel next to an enemy is extremely hard because the aim gets glued to whatever demon is close. Disabling it makes aiming super hard. This is obviously a console issue, PC players will fare better. It also has the weakest shotgun I've seen (in recent memory), even at point blank you can see the wall behind a demon get hit by stray pellets, and anything beyond two meters will not even feel it. Even with all the complaints though, it still has one of the best ending themes of any game ever. \m/ \m/
  16. Well, just had a fun discussion with some relatives in terms of what to do in the coming days. Basically, my father and I told them to avoid going out as much as possible, only go out when necessary, avoid markets and other crowded areas. Their response "Well, we went outside and there weren't many people around, so we'll be fine, whatever." My father told them that they should still take care to avoid certain places and recommended that if they have to buy some groceries, to do it when there aren't many people around, usually early in the morning. "Well, whatever, I still have to stand in line with other people at the butcher, otherwise what am I going to eat?" They didn't like the suggestion of canned food, pasta and other stuff that you can buy that'll last for a while. Sure, it may not be the best, nor the most nutritious/delicious/whatever, but the alternative, exposing yourself just because you don't think it's serious enough is not worth it IMO. They disagreed and now I'm just wondering what to do. I mean, if people don't care about their own health and how it affects others what can you do? At the moment I'm, debating between trying to explain things in a more detailed manner, show them what it's like in other countries, show them what happens when people don't take care of themselves, but then I remember that their attitude towards this is just to ignore it all, to act like it's no big deal, like they're immune to it and I start to think "If you don't fucking care then why the fuck should I, I'll just stay away from ya'll". Not the way I wanted to spend my Sunday. Then again, I guess things rarely go the way we want them to.
  17. Our president said "You know what they've been saying? About avoiding contact? Don't listen to them, everything's alright, hug each other, it's fine, that's how we beat this."
  18. Looks like they're taking it seriously now. Schools will be closed from March 20 until April 20, some colleges like Tec de Monterrey have announced they'll be holding online classes only. Some sport events have also been cancelled. Hopefully it's not too late, but only time will tell. My grandmother doesn't really leave her home that often, though she does get visits from her daughters and I know one of them doesn't necessarily have the best hygiene habits. My mom is the one that worries me the most, she smokes a ton, has some health issues and refuses to see a doctor for most of them because her friends have told her that magnets and garlic tea work better than any medicine. ? She also doesn't listen when people tell her to avoid crowds and other large events. If she gets sick, it's likely that my father and aunt, who moved here after my grandparents died, will also get sick. How do you convince someone like that to not do dumb shit? Another big thing is going to be the ending of Semana Santa (lent?), a huge religious thing where people gather to watch a dude get crucified, I don't think people will be happy to see it cancelled, but they should definitively call it off ASAP.
  19. Though I doubt it'll happen, given our president is all about welcoming everyone because rejecting sick people would be "inhumane" according to him, further, they're refusing to cancel events and won't ban any large gatherings because of the effect it would have on the economy. Closing the border would go against all their pretty speeches and assurances that everything is alright. Then again, it'd be pretty amusing if it did happen.
  20. So that escalated quickly. After our president did everything he could to destroy the health care system we had, leaving hospitals without medicines and doctors, now he and his people are proposing that Mexico allow those people affected by the US travel ban into our country. Not the best time to play the "we being humanitarian here!" card. My aunt had plans to go to Puebla and see the Passion Play there with some friends, I advised her not to since it's only likely to get worse, and she's in that 60+ years old group. Good thing is I currently work from home anyway, and avoiding large crowds has always been my speciality, didn't expect it to come in handy, but hey, here we are.
  21. Played for a bit. Loadouts being a thing changes the game in some interesting ways. Primarily that people just farm money at the start, buy their loadout and then that's it, so you see a lot of people with the same weapons. It also seems like operators can only be unlocked by purchasing Modern Warfare, kinda disappointing but oh well.
  22. Free to play, comes out tomorrow. I'll probably play it, have fun for a bit and then never return, just like with Apex Legends.
  23. I played the XBOX version, no mods for me. Did have cheats though, which this new version lacks.
