  1. That thing is HUGE.
  2. IIRC when DS2 came out some people complained it was too easy, so in an update they just went "OK Then, here's way more enemies and stronger enemies and everything else!" I remember an area early on that was originally an empty spot leading to a boss, after the update there was a dragon there. On Topic: Playing FEAR 2, and man this game's way better than FEAR, there's a MECH, A FREAKING MECH, and you get to pilot it! Though it's only for a short while it's still pretty cool. Being that it also looks way better the scary stuff is also way more scary. I just reached this part where Alma... Well, I knew about the ending, I just didn't know that before that she changes her appearance in such a way. That was a surprise. If you don't know, aside from creepy girl with a blood-red dress, Alma has a more adult appearance, that looks more like a reanimated corpse than anything else. After a certain part in FEAR 2, she changes that for a more... Alive look, presumably trying to woo Sgt Beckett, though the constant horrific visions and all the corpses she leaves behind aren't working in her favour.
  3. FEAR Extraction Point The new weapons are really fun, I got the AI to freak out by combining turret grenades with the minigun. "Where am I supposed to go!". That was fun. FEAR Perseus Mandate Once more, the new weapons were pretty cool, the lightning gun was my favourite. I liked this one more, the way the mercenaries play into the story and how you'll sometimes find them fighting the replica army is pretty cool, adds a cool layer to everything going on. The horror bits were better done too IMO even if the floor dudes were kind of annoying (until I figured out how to easily avoid them). The last section felt a bit repetitive though, it was like the Library in Halo, just with less flood. It's a shame these are not canon anymore, I would have liked to see where the senator storyline went. I also wonder if the merc dude was taking credit for the kill or if there's something else going on: "We got Morrison" Except that you get to watch as Morrison gets crushed by a truck after Alma shows up. This one also broke the curse of the Black Hawk, every time someone mentioned, got close to, or boarded one of those that was an instant death flag, in the end though, you finally get to leave without issues, kinda, not sure if Chen's ghost is a good ghost that disappears after hearing you'll get promoted, or an ominous ghost that hints at everyone being dead already. Edit: OK so AFAIK these games aren't canon anymore, but FEAR 2 just referenced the Perseus compound, so... I don't know anymore.
  4. Cells at Work movie scheduled for Sept 5. Look who's back!
  5. Funimation is now available in Mexico! Except I can't see their announcement because it's region locked! Yay!
  6. I checked price here and wow, way cheaper than I expected $454MXN (Around $20USD). Not bad.
  7. If that's the case then yeah, I'm out, at $60, it's now $1700 in MXN, at $70 and with all the new and increased taxes, I don't know how much it'd end up being, but I know it's not worth it unless it's something like Bloodborne 2 or something.
  8. https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2020/07/01/world/americas/01reuters-mexico-first-lady.html So that happened, in a way, it's weird to be relieved that this was just a dumb tweet and not some kind of policy/law or massacre, too many of those recently. Speaking of: https://www.excelsior.com.mx/nacional/masacre-en-anexo-de-irapuato-comando-mata-a-24/1391538 A massacre in a drug rehab clinic left 24 patients dead. And in "this is getting into some serious action move script stuff": Video evidence provided by El Marro's lawyers revealed that cops working for the CJNG created a fake checkpoint with the intention to kidnap and possibly murder his mother and sister. Marro then confessed to having those cops killed in revenge (their bodies were found later), he then warned the chief of the police to "stay neutral, or push evenly". Meanwhile Harfuch who recently survived an attack from CJNG posted some pictures from the hospital, one of them with the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit, that also featured a bulletproof vest and some rifles in the background, this has been taken by some to mean an open threat and a declaration that he won't back down, as both of these men are at the head of many arrests and operations against CJNG and other cartels. Police report that they have received several threats since the attack, and that they're working to identify and respond appropriately to them. I live relatively close to CDMX and I remember when I was a kid and there were army trucks in every corner, some full of soldiers, some with mounted guns, plus many more just patrolling the city, that was when the strategy was "beat the shit out of them before they beat the shit out of us", I wonder how things will go now with the "hugs not bullets" approach the federal government still insists on.
  9. Modifications to copyright laws have been approved as part of TMEC (USMCA) "negotiations". These include the ability to remove any content that is deemed to be in violation of copyright without needing any proof of whether or not there's an actual copyright issue, the ability to remove or censor any content that the government deems overly critical, "inaccurate" or accusatory regardless of whether it's true or not, and the end of right-to-repair. Some of these will be punished with up to 10 years in prison, which is more than some murderers get, so yeah, this is going to be fun. Mind you these still need to go through one more approval before being signed into law, though considering this went with 0 votes against I don't have much hope. At this point I'm kinda hoping for a false vacuum near us, just end it all real quick.
  10. So far (just completed the fire level) I have found Code Vein to be the easiest of the Souls-like games I've played, Fortified Zweihander + Queenslayer blood code + a couple of elemental buffs have made most fights, even bosses, ridiculously easy. Even traversing the fire area wasn't much trouble thanks to the fire defence gift. I do agree about the combat lacking the weight that makes other games so satisfying, and the Cathedral can go burn in hell, but other than that I've been enjoying my time with it a lot. Even the Depths are 1000X better than the Chalice Dungeons from Bloodborne IMO. Happy to see you're at least getting your money back.
  11. Godot 4.0 is going to be awesome. \m/ \m/
  12. F.E.A.R This was fun, a nice mix of action and horror, though I did run into some performance issues it was not too big of a deal. Overall it holds up pretty well, and it looks pretty good IMO, for a 15 year old game. I jumped into Extraction Point immediately, I know that one and Perseus Mandate are no longer canon, but I still want to see what's up with those.
  13. Playing FEAR, last time I played I stopped at the part where the cyber-demon-ninja dudes show up, those guys were super annoying with how much they jump around and their ability to turn invisible. This time I've made it past that part and it's pretty fun. There's parts of this game that still hold up and honestly, it doesn't look that bad (for a game that came out 15 years ago! ) other parts haven't aged that well, there's no sprint, and most weapons don't have an actual aim/zoom feature, it's just a tiny zoom without really being able to aim down sights. Still, it's prettyfun, and that gun that vaporises enemies is pretty cool.
  14. Omar Garcia Harfuch head of the Secretaria de Seguridad (Secretariat of Security) of CDMX was ambushed and attacked this morning in Avenida Reforma in CDMX. Two members of his security detail died in the attack, alongside a civilian that was around the area. In a video you can see a transport truck used to block the path, while from a different truck several armed men step down and board the one blocking the road, ready to fire. There's an ongoing investigation involving a possible leak from within that revealed their route and schedule for this morning, alongside reports that they had received threats from the CJNG some time ago. These weapons were left behind by the attackers. This happened in Reforma, one of the biggest and most important avenues in the city, the closest I can think of is Fifth Avenue in NY or something like that so yeah, a pretty big deal. They're operating under the assumption that it was CJNG (which makes sense given the weapons and the amount of people involved), but could also be Union Tepito, Anti-Union or even SRDL as El Marro recently released a video calling all of his followers to join him and fight ti'll the end.
  15. My understanding is that it may not be fully HDR as it doesn't have individual lighting zones, and that the curvature may cause some issues on the far edges, but still, looks pretty cool. \m/ \m/
  16. The president has once again attacked INE (National Electoral Institute) an independent organisation meant to ensure fair elections, in his words: "It's the most expensive of its kind in the world, we're going to take a good look at it." Following his comments about how he would be the "guardian of the elections" this is quite concerning. Add to this the fact that he's constantly stated that you either support him and his party or you support corruption and crime and we're in for a fun election cycle in 2021. The attacks on INE and others stem from his belief that these are all "useless neoliberal wastes of money, that exist only to benefit the elite", never mind that he created the PROBEIS, an organisation that exists for the sole purpose of promoting his favourite sport, baseball and that uses government funding to achieve its goals. ? Also, IBERDROLA announced the cancellation of their CCGT plant in Veracruz, citing the fact that CFE refused to provide them with the necessary gas for its operation. This plant was supposed to be part of many to be built by this company, among them were some renewable ones, who knows what will happen to them now, this also comes after the president attacked them for their presence in the Mexican energy sector. CFE continues to burn fuel oil like there's no tomorrow (and at this point there might be no tomorrow). In COVID news, no one can agree on what to do now, some people want to open now, others say to wait, Gattell keeps saying we have reached "peak new cases" every other week, the president keeps saying that honesty is the best way to prevent catching any virus, some people keep saying this is all a conspiracy (we're in the 5G towers cause COVID stage) and so on. Some states are already opening up, others are starting to relax on any kind of preventive measures taken.
  17. https://cafemix.pokemon.com/en-us/ A Pokemon puzzle game for Android and iOS. "Free to start". And... then there's this: OK, A Pokémon MOBA, I can kinda get behind, it might be fun, but Tencent + free-to-start means a I'll stay away from this one.
  18. Either this is Halo Wars 3 (which would be awesome!) or Infinite is just going to pretend Halo 5 didn't happen.
  19. The new Lamb of God is fucking awesome! https://open.spotify.com/album/34Y9ZcZ4b3WGbhx66zS0QV \m/ \m/ New Ensiferum is pretty good so far too: \m/ \m/
