  1. I've only played a little of the Beta, but I've kind of decided to buy it already - and was not going to before. I got a headset too! Unfortunately I can only get game sound through them with the AV cable, which I no longer have and need to buy (argh).

  2. Hahahaha the timing on that was excellent, Hottie. Also, that article you linked just made my wallet sad.
  3. As I need to beat the single player from the second game, it'll be a while till I touch 3's single player, so I'll be buying it for the MP, like most games. But yeah - I'm guessing we'll probably have a decent amount of TAY folk getting the game? Hopefully?
  4. I never used to be able to write well when drinking, but lately drinking helps me write quite a bit - to a point. Once I get really drunk, I'll keep writing and black out, wake up the next morning with some reaaaally weird stuff written that I delete. But for a while, it helps out - because I'm not obsessing over the words, and I'm actually getting somewhere in the story - and then later I can go back and polish/revise when I'm sober.
  5. Drunk is like the staple of the greatest writers!
  6. If you read Penny-Arcade's latest news post, even they are getting the dreaded 20002 error. Gonna give the Beta another shot tonight/tomorrow probably.
  7. I'm supposed to figure out how to do I don't even know using examples from three different coding languages I don't know? Awesome.

  8. PC Gaming is alive and kicking because I have an awesome computer right now, goddammit.

  10. Argh it cut off my comment - I'm too long winded! But yeah, I was just saying KZ is all new to me since I never played the second game, and I just figured that'd be the next big MP game the forum crowds would be playing.

  11. I'll totally play some Uncharted 2 with you guys - I'm hoping that starting next week I'll be home more, so I can actually use my PS3 a few days each week (and scrounge for some gaming hours while you and the Euro crowd are awake, during my work hours). You should give the KZ3 Beta a shot (once the connection issues stop making it infuriating). I didn't play 2 though, so it...

  12. Raine! Will you be getting Killzone 3? Becauuuse I'm thinking about getting it - and hopefully having time to play with TAY folk again in the future!

  13. I'd recommend getting a free dropbox account - works great! EDIT The link Dean mentioned below to the forum post with referral links, which will give you extra space. http://board.pressxordie.com/topic/155-dropbox/page__p__5094__hl__dropbox__fromsearch__1#entry5094
  14. Hahaha. That's how I write poetry too - I haven't rhymed with poetry since like early high school. Don't do too much poetry anymore either, but when I did it was for the sound of the language, not so much for meaning.
  15. Perhaps the only thing I know for certain about writing, is that every writer has a different process. There is no 'correct way to write' that works for everyone (though some teachers or writers might claim there is). That's not to say that books on 'how to write' are useless - those can have plenty of useful information, methods, exercises and so on. Point is, though, pretty much every writer has a different way of doing things. What are your quirks and preferences? I don't think I even have my own process pinned down yet, really. It's kind of like I'm stumbling blindly through a room, touching different objects, and trying (very poorly) to explain what they are and why they're important. After I've got something written, I kind of look at it like sculpting - you've got this giant block, now you've got to whittle it down into something interesting. A little off here, that entire chunk gone there, now to attach a nose - however that's done. The main thing I'm focusing on right now is reading the sort of thing I'm interested in writing, and writing more - which is really the hard part. Life is busy, and it's easier just to play some video games or fritter away time on the internet *cough* TAY *cough*. This, from someone taking a break from working on a new story, to come and post on TAY about writing. Because goddammit. That's what I do - sidetrack myself. So! You folks! Ramble about writing and your process here.

Hhahahaa Hackers, yess. I used to be obsessed with that movie.

  17. Ooooh! I did post here last night! Good to know. Hi everyone! Not drunk this time! ^^ Reasons why I love this guy. In other news, hey new folks! Welcome to the best time vortex since WoW!
  18. I'm going to see if I can run it on my desktop this weekend then - I should be able to get home for a little while to do that. Honestly though, if I'm buying a full priced game, I'll probably end up going with KZ3 - it's one or the other, and shouldn't even be either, considering my finances at the moment and general lack of time. But... argh... want!
  19. I remember thinking it looked pretty ridiculous visually and hearing similar comments, but I never ended up playing it since I didn't have a Gamecube. My friend that did loved it, though.
  20. Here's a good article on some of the concerns about the second Dragon Age. http://pc.ign.com/articles/114/1148168p1.html
  21. Alrighty - so how many people here are going to buy KZ3? Because if enough are, and we could start a TAY clan (there seems to be an option for this in-game), I might just have to break down and buy this.
  22. One of my complaints is that the Guerilla matches seem waaaay too short. Like five minutes sometimes. Hopefully there's more options for longer ranked matches on release. I never played anything but the KZ2 demo, and I remember disliking the controls there. It's been a while since I've played a console shooter, and I can tell the controls for this game are going to take some getting used to for me, but then they always do. The good news is, there's a shit ton of sensitivity options that you can tweak to your hearts content and find a balance. I get the feeling most of the issues that are happening with the Beta will get ironed out before launch, since they're having a Beta and all.
  23. I dunno, I thought this was one of the funniest things I've read in ages. But yeah, Daily Mail, isn't that like, basically a tabloid?
