  1. No Diablo II was successful because of of it's online capabilities. People like you probably spent all your points on the leap skill, so you could grunt periodically as you scavenged junk off the ground. To be fair, I think the success of Diablo II is debatable on a number of levels and isn't a "this" or "that" thing. I haven't played Magicka enough yet to decide if it's really comparable to Diablo II.
  2. Unfortunately, if that time I shaved my head the summer before my freshman year of high school is anything to go by, I'll just look like a gnobbly skinhead. Not so good. Got my fingers for a balding cure in the next five years. Then again, it seems like they still haven't cured baldness in any science fiction even, so outlook not so good.
  3. I started near the end of high school because my musician buddy had been trying to get me to for ages and I was like, "RAWR, breakup, almost to college, time to get HIP." I finally completely kicked it a month or so ago. I still liked cigarettes when I was drunk for quite a while, but even that now I don't really desire. I never got too into it though. Maybe like five a day max on average at my worst. I just visited my musician buddy up in WA last week and he's still pretty bad. Like 12 cigarettes a day on average bad. He was up to like two packs a day for a while. Shit's crazy.
  4. That's what I like about GT. I guess you can get that with IGN too. I dunno. Once you dig into the community of any game site, it seems like you'll find people unhappy with the editors. I don't think I know of any universally loved gaming site/blog/magazine.
  5. They're changing Steam again? Didn't they just do that? Also, weird about Euro Steam pricing issues. Steam is kind of amazing with prices in the US. Unless you're buying at release? I'm trying not to buy games new on Steam anymore, since in like six months they drop so damn far in price, and it's all technically 'new' on Steam. It's just those stupid pre-order bonuses (that are now a mainstay) that get me.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmxCRMBk5rA I feel like it should be more notable that the Deftones named one of their songs with the Konami code. Also, the deftones: One of the only bands that made it through the nu-metal apocalypse and remained good, IMO.
  7. Hmmm, I was way off base then! It got really bad for me when I was a sophomore in highschool and lasted until I hit college. My cheeks bear the scars though, and I highly dislike them.
  8. You wish you were from the UK. Damn yanks. Ah! I've been grammared! (The above should be a real verb, it most definitely should)
  9. Unfortunately it runs like pooh on my laptop. As some have noted, the performance is suspect. Which is a shame, because it's totally the sort of game I'd like to play away from home. Ah well - I'm still looking forward to getting around to playing it more, even if it is as Single Player, at some point.
  10. Yeahh but acne scars are like a badge that says, "I survived being a teenager!" I've got them on my cheeks a bit. Stupid overactive high school year hormones. I wish I was from the UK! Alas, I am from small-town California, now living in small-big-town California. I would have loved to see Andrew Bird (as most people on that bill). One of my friends saw him once and said he was like ten times better live, which sounds like quite a feat considering how good his albums are to begin with.
  11. I finally tried it when I visited home and found they'd built one. It's on par with In'n'Out, I guess, but they're very different burgers. Either is still far better than any other burger fast food place I've had. There's a Seattle only burger chain called Dick's (which is a prime source of jokes for fans) that is taaaaasty. I had it once when I visited years ago and once again this time. Maybe we'll get it on the way to the airport too! Probably not. Sucks they're only in Seattle.
  12. Hahahaa. Love it. I meant to ask Brain- what festival is the first pic you put up from? I recognize the typeface on all the stands. Unless it's not a festival. Then just ignore me. Good catch sir! Outside Lands in San Francisco/GG Park 2010. The lineup kind of sucked actually, there wasn't one band I wanted to see, but the girlfriend really wanted to go for some reason. Which is crazy, because they've had amazing lineups at that festival before. Compare this amazing lineup (http://www.strangerdance.com/outside-lands-festival-lineup-announced-san-francisco-concerts-2008/) to 2010's (http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/lineup/) It was still a fun day though.
  13. I played the demo and loved it. The spell combinations are really fun, and screenshots don't do how good the visuals any sort of justice. Just bought it on Steam. It's a shame I will be playing this SP almost for sure.
  14. Apparently it's on your mum's side, so I'm screwed. My uncle is a bald egghead and an asshole to boot. My hair started noticeably thinning on the top right when I hit college. It sucks. I'm obsessed with long hair on dudes. And that can no longer be me. Screw everything.
  15. Oh yeah, subpar episodes were (heh) par for the course in the Star Trek series. It was never like shows today where if a show's good enough, you'll rarely have a poor episode. Still, I suppose that was part of their charm. I really hope we get a good new series soon.
  16. I've bought tons of games for my friends on Steam, during sales. It's cheap and I like trying to get my friends to dig things that I also dig.
  17. http://www.wimp.com/kineticsculpture/ This is very neat.
  18. Super digging the new TF2 plugin. Too bad it's not possible to have one of those for Uncharted 2!
  19. my friend's hand soap smells, literally, like vomit and bile.

  20. Too often. Far too often. I have friends that go through a sixty hour game with two or three saves. That is not me. I often have in the hundreds.
  21. I'm gonna try out the demo today. If it's swell, I might buy it. We could totally get some TAY co-op on.
  22. I still think they put out some good stuff on each album, but they're definitely not going to match Clarity again. Apparently, they 'got away' with that album at the time due to a lot less studio-tinkering. That's what I thought too, but I'm pretty sure they recorded Bleed American pretty much by themselves, which was their mainstream breakout hit (although I still love most of it). I was disappointed in Futures, liked the EP they put out, liked what I heard of their album after that, but I listened to a web stream of their latest and I was super disappointed - so many of the songs were just cheesy and blah. On topic of Jimmy Eat World, has anyone heard Lapko? They're a Finnish band that kind of sounds like a slightly heavier Jimmy Eat World.
