Finally played the PC MP Demo. Graphics settings are confusing - they put them in a loop so you can't tell what is supposed to be the max. I played about 4 matches at 2048 resolution with V-Sync on Hardcore, and it ran pretty well. Weird how everything looks so 'smooth.' They had better have full graphics options on release though, or that's ridiculous. The game itself - horrid voice acting and the gunfire sounds and feel have no weight to them, which sucks - feels like you've got pea shooters, and did not dig that. I dunno, I'll wait for a Steam sale on this, I've got enough MP shooters and I still haven't beaten the first Crysis.

games that have made you cry.

Oh, you might be right. Sorry - it looked spoilery so I ran screaming into the night. It's what I do when I think I see spoilers. -
Yeah, sometimes I can't tell what I get killed with - if it's from mortar strikes or standard turrets or what, because sometimes on that map I just spawn, walk somewhere and get killed instantly by a ton of explosions, and it's not a standard rocket launcher, and the mechs only have so many explosive shots. What I want to know is why we played that map on Warzone like six times. Every time a match ended I forgot to look for voting options, but every time the same map? It's a good map, but that kind of sucked. Anyway, I'm down for some KZ3 at some point, but I'm not sure if I can get on right now.

SPOILERZ, ARGH. Actually, my fault for not having playing that incredible game yet. BUT STILL. :'( -
I guess you would say the problems resolved themselves, but in this case, they really shouldn't have. Either way, I have veeeeery little time for video games these days (or anything else, really) and it blows. But, if you're hoping to work things out, I hope you do! And yeah - I need to check out raptr, I've just been so damn lazy.
-
Oh nuuu! I had those a few months ago and was optimistic about the possibility of more play time. But then it didn't happen and I sort of wished it had. Aihhy. Anyway, good luck, we'll smash the ISA with you eventually!
-
No problem, we actually didn't play - I had a friend over, so I quit and we played some local co-op, which was actually really fun. I was getting torn apart on some of those later matches, but I was kind of distracted because I was trying to play while talking to my friend at the same time. It was awesome playing with three of us though! We'll have to do that again.
-
Malicious and I are tearing it up right now - this would be ridiculous with a full squad of eight.
-
Gonna jump on some KZ3 right now.

Oh boy. This is now my top visited site, according to Chrome.

Ah, I see - thanks Atomsk! I didn't play the last KZ, so it's all new to me. I was guessing the bars were for signal or something, but I'm surprised to learn you can have two at once - I'll have to try that out. It's a shame there isn't a better way to track the status of your bot, as I tend to toss those in an open area and just hope it goes up, more often than not. I'm looking to be on KZ3 late tonight and/or during the day-ish tomorrow.

Most Anticipated titles for 2011?
TheForgetfulBrain replied to superfrogsavestokyo's topic in General Gaming Chat
I'm surprised! You seemed pretty down on Skyrim in the ES5 thread. Wait, what? I guess I just took your initial disappointment with the creatures/screenshots as you not being excited for the game. It's hard to judge tone over the internets. -
Against us? AGAINST US!? Dood, we need you to use your cheating Move against the other team. buyitbuyitbuyitbuyit Since Beta, I instantly went for the Tactician. This is primarily because I have a weakness for SMGs, as the capture abilities were useless in Guerilla Warfare, which is all I was playing in Beta. However, I quickly discovered the superiority of Warzone in the full version, and that capture ability has been really useful. It's the first class I've maxed out. I still actually use the SMG quite a lot, as I am shit for aiming with the weapons with scopes instead of irons in KZ3 (scoped assault rifle is last weapon unlock for tactician). The radar reveal is damn useful too, particularly for the onscreen X's that show you when an enemy's about to pop around a corner and you're aiming at them with your reticle where they're going to pop up. The flying bot, I'm a little confused on. I don't really understand what the little two bars are next to the icon - is that signal? It seems like the bot only comes out if you throw it in a really open area, and even then, not always. If someone understands how the tactician's bot works better, I'd love some information, because it's really frustrating. The second class I've been working on is the marksman, because I love sniping in games, but I'm garbage with it so far.

I'm surprised! You seemed pretty down on Skyrim in the ES5 thread. I'm very excited for that as well. In fact, there's more games I'm excited for this year than my wallet would like, considering I want them at full-price. I've already got DAII coming in a week, and I also pre-ordered the Witcher 2, so needless to say I'm excited for those. I haven't pre-ordered Deus Ex, but I really want to - that game looks like it will do just great in capturing the ol' Deus Ex spirit AND bringing the new. BF3 - as everyone's buzzing about right now, looks very exciting, and I can only image how good the MP is going to be. I'm also excited, even without gameplay footage, for Scrolls. There's more too - lots more. I keep forgetting we're in 2011, where release dates once seemed like a distant thing, and now, are right around the corner. My wallet quivers and shakes an angry proverbial fist. -
http://pc.ign.com/articles/115/1152917p1.html The IGN article has an interview with one of the DICE guys on BF3 and the details he's spilling sound pretty incredible. Considering that DICE has tended to have weak SP portions in their shooters, I wasn't expecting much from the SP, but I'm starting to. Granted, the line that says the entire game plays like a tutorial for MP isn't the most encouraging way to put it, but bits like the enemies that don't respawn, just have really good AI makes it sound like each firefight is going to be really engaging, not just shooting at waves of endless enemies and wonder where you're supposed to go next to trigger the end of those waves. Not much in the way of additional details on MP so far, but what the hell - DICE only gets sharper with their MP excursions (MoH excluded), I have no doubts it's going to be incredible. Argh... this is making me want to play some BC2: Vietnam!

What are you currently playing?
TheForgetfulBrain replied to Cyber Rat's topic in General Gaming Chat
I need to barrel through Awakenings soon at some point, to ready my save for DAII. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel my Gamefly sub, so I reaaaally need to put aside some time to make use of that now and justify the extra month's expense to myself. -
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/03/02/imperium-romanum-now-free-to-pc-gamer-readers/ Free Rome City Building strategy game for the next few days. Not my cup of tea, but what the hell, might be yours for the low, low price of bandwidth.

Yeahhh, that looks awesome. I'm just sick of the Middle East setting for 'modern' shooters - Black Ops campaign was kind of a refresher due to that. Still, this game is going to be a star for the MP, and I am moist with anticipation for that. Too bad you had to buy Medal of Honor to get early Beta access to this.

Ha. Ever heard of a game called 'Battleforge?' CCG meets RTS. Used to be retail, then they switched to F2P, and the card buying mechanics became more prominent. I was thinking more along the lines of the Magic Online game that has you buy virtual packs of cards to play with and Eye of Judgment that worked with real cards you bought or something. This system reminds me of F2P games that basically sell shortcuts to advance in the game. It cheapens the game by making it less about mastering the game and more about dropping more and more cash. Well yeah, I should have been clearer - that's what Battleforge was like. You started with a base set of cards, bought points (with cash) and then used those points to either buy virtual packs of cards or specific cards on the player auction house. You could earn some cards through other means, but buying them was the main way. It looks to be the same here.

Obviously, they want to give players the option to let Hawke live up the legend he was made out to be ingame. Also, this: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-exiled-dragon-age/711040 DLC announced before it's even released, and only for a paltry SEVEN dollars! That's the Signature Edition DLC, basically the 'Free Collectors Edition' upgrade you got if you pre-ordered it before the game was available on Steam, and what people are trying to scalp on Amazon for $250+ right now. http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-2-Bioware-Signature-Pc/dp/B003UF9E0O/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1299038026&sr=8-12 EDIT Also, crap: From http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_2 "Choices from Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, The Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt will also be imported. The player must import his or her save games in a single chain tracing all the way back to Dragon Age: Origins to be able to import all game data (i.e. rather than two separate transfers from Origins/Awakening to the respective DLC)." Looks like I'm going to need to get around to finish Awakening and the rest of the DLC... but DAII is out in like a week and I'm hardly gonna be home. No way that's gonna happen. Sadness!

Oh man, this looks incredible. I am stoked to see the PA talents go to more gaming use, and combined with that of Mojang, this should be incredible. I've never played much in the way of CCGs, but that's really for lack of friends also interested. Now, that won't be an issue. I was a huuuuge fan of Culcept for 360, despite how atrocious the story, voice acting and graphics were (and that it was the game that bricked my 360 twice) and have always been bummed there aren't more video games that use trading card AND board game elements. (I was interested in that game released recently on Steam, but it's supposed to be garbage) Super duper omega excited.

There was an XBLA version, but I suppose it's been canned? The review/impression I read on IGN recommended PC over Xbox anyway, saying that it was reaaaally difficult and awkward to handle all the different spells on a controller. I've only played the game a little while, and I'm still not very good as I keep forgetting which keys bring up which spell and what combines with what, but I imagine if I stayed with the game for a while I'd get used to it. I actually really love the spell system, even though there is a very perceptible learning curve there.
