  2. I borrowed KZ2 from a friend and need to beat that SP first. Probably be a while till I touch it. But MP - I'm gonna try that out soon! Yayy!
  3. I've got to crack open my PC at some point tonight and get my CPU fan spinning before I can give this a go. Finished downloading at least, though! Only took six hours... haa.
  4. I got my copy a few hours ago! Haven't been able to touch it yet, though... Soon though! Argh.
  5. ugh. CPU fan stopped running again. time to crack open the case, poke around, and hope for the best again.

      Dust allergies no good!

In my case, I just kind of poke around and then seal it back up and the fan magically starts spinning again. I'm dreading the day that doesn't work, because then I dunno what I'm gonna do.

So you basically do... nothing, and it starts working again? O_o Weird.

Maybe you should look into replacing that fan.

Yeahh, but I have no way of getting my tower to a repair shop (no car, live in the city but can't take a tower on a bus), no repair shop I trust enough not to rape me on prices AND handle all the work info I have on there, no know-how of what part to buy or how to replace the fan or what the exact issue is so... basically I'm screwed if it stops working for good! I haven't had time to crack it open and pray today, yet, either. So... fingers crossed?

  6. Yeah, I figured they'd get slammed. Gonna try right now anyway!
  7. Just popped onto Amazon, and this was on the front page: Wasn't expecting that. I just hope it's better than their old video technology. I bought the first season of BSG in a HD digital download off of their site for $5 a few years ago, and you had to download this hideous video player that started every time windows started, took up a ton of resources, was a bitch to close with Vista and wanted several gigabyte downloads. Suffice it to say, I gave up on that and still never figured out how to uninstall it. So here's hoping this is better? Thoughts, anyone?
  8. Ethan! DA2 on a console? But why! Pee-Seeeee.
  9. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
  10. Not perfect, but pretty effing badass, and its heart is in the right place. Plus, Ryan Kwanten. I'd been wanting to see this for quite a while, even pre-ordered it on Blu-Ray and forgot about it till it came. Anyway, I finally got around to watching it - yay!
  11. That's the way, sir, that's the way! But hurry! Only one more daaaay.
  12. That's true - CoD doesn't have any weight to the guns - which can be favorable because it makes aiming and movement so predictable and easy to control. The thing that sold me on KZ3 was being able to smash some fools with the resident TAY crowd - yay for you guys, you little salesmen, you! ... Now please buy the game, everyone.
  13. If you buy a pre-built, I would recommend ONLY buying something that has a lot of positive reviews somewhere like New Egg, and read through the comments to find possible issues. I bought a new desktop computer that looked pretty spanking two years ago, at $200 off on a Black Friday sale - with no reviews. It's served me pretty well, but it has some serious quirks I still haven't completely resolved. After I bought it, it started getting reviews, most of which were negative highlighting some serious issues with the build, and I was pretty bummed. That said, a year into owning the machine I managed to pop in a new graphics card (ATI Radeon 5870 - I highly recommend this card) and the machine runs most games at max at a near flawless 60fps. I doubt I'll need to upgrade for at least another year or two, thanks to that. Also, if you buy a pre-built, I would recommend getting it from somewhere like iBuyPower (it's what I have, and the company seems to have pretty good consumer ratings), that has respectable, well priced builds. Alienware is notoriously overpriced and not even that good. I would stay away from 'CostCo' machines or similar, where you're getting Dell, HP or some unknown brand - usually those machines are in really small cases and packed really tightly, so upgrading components is a nightmare/impossible, unless you really know what you're doing and know how to move crap around in your machine to make room. This is just my two cents though, I don't know much about computers when it comes to the physical details, I'm just sharing advice I wish I'd known when I upgraded to a new gaming computer, from someone with average know-how when it comes to computers. Pricing: My desktop was around $800. The new video card was around $350 through a pretty good deal on EBay (if you buy second hand, go XFX so you can get a lifetime warranty and make sure it can transfer to you - then it's basically like buying a brand new card from anyone else, since if it fails, they will replace it). My 23" monitor with a 2048 resolution display and a good color depth was probably around $300. Keep in mind I bought these things separately, so the cost was bearable.
  14. I am hunnnnngry, but have no food here... Hmm... soup time again?
  15. Hahhaa. I dunno Dean, I'm not seeing eye to eye with you at all on this one, so I'm just gonna cut out on this topic.
  16. I love that you actually kind of look like Francis.
  17. So in! I've started an Event Planning thread, and I finally have all the components for my headset to work. Yayy.
  18. Alrighty - KZ3 is out tomorrow. Let's do this! Who's ready for some launch day Killzone 3 MP? TAY Clan ASSEMBLE!

  20. I have a heartbreaking story about my PS3 dying the day the PS3 Slim was announced, 8 days out of warranty, and the bitches in customer service that did not give a righteous fuck. Actually, that's it in a nutshell. $150 to repair my PS3, HALF the cost of a brand new Slim? Fuck you, Sony, fuck you very much. Oh, and all the saved games lost, hundreds of hours, a handful of games just hours from completion- Just thinking about it makes me rage.
  21. To clarify: On one hand, Faiblesse took the phrase 'hell of a crew' as meaning that there must be some reason that the average gamer would recognize the staff behind the blog, in which case, the Bio did not address - and I believe this is a reasonable interpretation of the phrase. On the other hand, I can see that Dean thought Faiblesse was just stirring up some shit - in this case, he wasn't, it was a straightforward question that got misinterpreted. I am neutral to the matter, and posted the quote for the Gawker reference. Now - back on topic!
  22. Yeah, I dunno what all the hubbub is about. Are you and Dean on bad terms or something? Faiblesse tends to have some antagonistic posts here and there, so I think Dean sort of misread his question, which was as you clarified - what makes them so special. I just posted the link because I thought it was funny that PA plugged that blog as a replacement over Kotaku, without really pondering why they were a 'hell of a crew,' though I do think it's a valid question, and the Bio doesn't (to me) address that.
