  1. I have been snapped. It is a privilege to be balanced by Thanos. There is balance now.

  2. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom In short, it's like if you combined Dino Crisis and Resident Evil together. At this point, you know that some greedy asswipe of a human wants to financially profit off the dinosaurs. At least with the third film it was just survival, while the rest of the films are about putting money over safety. Unless the dinosaur is genetically designed to be a weapon, I really can't see how you could develop the remaining dinosaurs into weaponized death machines. To emphasize, Isla Nublar does in fact become uninhabitable, so there's no going back there. It's implied on the promotional websites that dinosaurs on Isla Sorna were shipped off to Isla Nublar when Jurassic World was established. However, it seems like Isla Sorna was still of some use, but this film acts as though all the dinosaurs are on Isla Nublar. That this is all or nothing for dinosaurs in our time. Anyway, the film spends most of its time in Northern California at the Lockwood Estate. Ergo, surviving dinosaurs in a mansion in the middle of a forest. There's quite a bit of suspension of disbelief, but what's frustrating is how both main characters and side character act so unnaturally. For example, there's this woman who knows about this deadly dinosaur and both she and a few men are actively hiding from said dinosaur in the same room. Yet, when she sees the damn thing once more, without it knowing she's there, she screams at the top of her lungs alerting the dinosaur to the location of everyone there. I think this must be a Jurassic Park/World trope. That a woman or little girl stands, screams, and makes the situation worse. There are more offenders, but that one really got my goat. Otherwise, Chris Pratt is still fun and a highlight of the film. The question of whether we protect the dinosaurs as living creatures, or let them die as failed experiments is an interesting one. I mean, they're not machines to be scrapped, but dinosaurs were never naturally meant to coexist with humans. The idea that they would have the same impact as say the atomic bomb is ridiculous as I think any well structured military could take out a dozen or so dinosaurs.
  3. Well, I just saw it today so I'll talk about it and Incredibles 2. Incredibles 2 I agree with GOH about the age of the voice actors. It probably didn't help that before the movie there was a brief video message from them talking about how it has been so long since the first film, but that the sequel will be just as good. I don't know if that's what everyone saw when going to the theater, but I wasn't a fan of giving us a briefing. The film picks up right after the track meet of the original's ending. Except now Mr. and Mrs. Incredible sound like grandparents who need to make sure they don't damage the grandchildren before they return them home. But otherwise it's an entertaining film that, while maybe a bit predictable, does bring up a more convincing argument of whether or not to have superheroes. That perhaps people put too much responsibility on "Supers" when they themselves must know when to take action. That while Mr. Incredible is iconic, Elastigirl is a more responsible choice to bring public opinion back in favor of Supers. It's also good to have new Supers to bring variety to the powers present in the film. Ant-Man and the Wasp It's a better film from the first, but I would also say it complements the high points of the first film to make a more satisfying hero series. Paul Rudd is a hoot and he brings Scott/Ant-Man more to life this time around. It really justifies why Scott would take a deal after the incident in Civil War. My personal pet peeve of these Ant-Man films is how half the time Hope and Hank are frustrated with Scott. He as Ant-Man wants to help people, so he's glad he can be an Avenger and team up with Captain America. Hank gets all old man pissed, and Hope briefly goes back to that indifferent phase she had in the first film. I guess, at least for Hope, she was upset because she wasn't asked by Scott to help him in Germany. Yet, Scott didn't know she had the capability to help as the new Wasp. Feels more like forced conflict rather than natural characterization. I also think perhaps the film had one too many plot threads, but it does keep things moving and gradually becomes like another heist film in the MCU. Hope is a very skilled hero, though Scott gets nerfed because, well, I don't want to spoil it. Hank holds his own and becomes more of a player than an observer like he was before. Still an arrogant grump, but he has more justification this time around. I love the little jab the film made about Cap and Falcon's favorite disguise of cap and sunglasses. Saw another film, but that one belongs in OK...
  4. I'm honestly shocked by that because the film has been getting all kinds of crazy advertising on essentially any form of media and intellectual property Disney uses and owns respectively.
  5. I think that's due to how Progressive is a planned 6 episode season whereas FLCL is an OVA that happened to be 6 episodes. FLCL was more about Naota than a cohesive plot about Atomsk, Haruko (Raharu), and Medical Mechanica. Progressive seems to want to answer those aspects, while also being its own story with Ide and Hidomi. I would definitely say it didn't effectively introduce who Eye Patch and Masuro are because either they're part of the Galactic Space Police Brotherhood or Bureau of Interstellar Immigration. I mean, given the secrecy it seems like the Brotherhood. Also, the Bureau wasn't interested in attacking Medical Mechanica, but the Brotherhood is in conflict with them and it stands to reason they would use N.O. too.
  6. Got caught back up with FLCL Progressive. Episode 4 and 5 have picked up the pace from what feels like more somber episodes of 2 and 3. I know people have had issue with Freebie Honey and Stone Skipping, but I quite liked Stone Skipping. The second episode was too quiet either because the songs were quieter or at times there just wasn't a song to accompany the scene. Still, people need to stop comparing Progressive to the OVA at every moment. Hidomi and Ide are not Naota and their story being different from his is perfectly fine. It may be two middle schoolers crushing on each other, but you damn well ain't going to see this kind of love story anywhere else. Especially after Fool on the Planet.
  7. If I remember correctly, 358/2 Days is just HD cutscenes, though I guess there are some additional ones compared to the DS game. It's been so long since I played it I doubt I would know which ones were new. I got those collections when they were on PS3 and supposedly the PS4 version runs a lot better. I don't want to buy them again, but it makes me a little envious. Still need to try 2.8, but I only want to play that Aqua 0.2 game since I've got Dream Drop Distance on 3DS. Last I checked it wasn't sold separately.
  8. Someone REALLY wants in my Epic Games account. I've gotten 3 emails about unsuccessful login attempts in the last 24 hours. I've changed my password and turned on Two-Factor Authentication. Still, I ain't got jack on my account so they're wasting their time.

    1. TCP

      TCP

Maybe someone who has a similar name and messes up?? My gmail is my firstnamelastname@gmail.com and every person out there with my name seems to think that's their email address. They try to get into it all the time and sign up for things with it. I hate them all, the well named bastards.

      TheMightyEthan

I also got a notification from Epic that someone was trying to log in, so I enabled two-factor authentication. It said they didn't have the right password, so I didn't bother changing that.

    3. Mister Jack

      Mister Jack

I got an email about a new account I never even made recently...Something screwy is going on over at Epic.  I blame Fortnite.

  9. On mobile, on vacation, so no fancy formatting/images. Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition I swear I'm working my way backwards, all so that my Devil Trigger may be properly pulled.
  10. I don't normally care for strategy games, but Valkyria Chronicles holds a special place in my heart. For the cost of a McDonald's combo meal, it's a deal.
  11. Real quick, is there anyone who actually likes controller skins? I mean, long ago I once got a skin for my GBA SP and it felt so weird to hold on to. With consoles, it just sits there to look cool. Maybe the material is better now, but I'll always prefer gripping the original plastic.
  12. Oh boy, so last night I came across the login info for Nintendo's E3 Press Kit and the Super Smash Bros zip file is over 1GB! There are other games' press assets to be found like Splatoon 2. One of the gems is the massive Smash banner that was featured in the video. It's over 21,000 pixels wide!
  13. Yeah, that mecha game looks sick. Admittedly there could have been more, but at least it wasn't boring and filled with awkward transitions. *hears flute in the distance*
  14. This Smash Bros info is putting me into Nirvana! (Hello, Daisy. It's been a long time coming.) EDIT: Oh, hi Ridley. How's your Smash life?
  15. EVERYONE IS HERE!

    1. FMW

      FMW

On one hand, that's cool.  On the other hand, I'm a DK main so really the fate of these tier 3 character peasants is of no significance to me.

  16. Okay, it's picking up. That KH3 trailer, giving us more questions than answers. Let's see where Death Stranding takes us.
  17. This Sony conference is rather... tame. I mean, The Last of Us Part 2 will be awesome, but this presentation feels like filler with a thin layer of ego.
  18. Just came back to post that people found it. If I'm bored tomorrow, I'll take it for a spin.
  19. I liked DmC and I'm liking what I'm seeing with DMC5. Honestly I don't see a lot of whiners, so chalk it up to the party poopers who can never be happy about a new game (even after a decade). I'm excited for Doom Eternal and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and that's about it so far. I would love for Anthem to be a good game, but I'm not holding my breath. While the new Halo (Infinite) will be on PC, I would love it if all of the series could be on PC. Still, it's worth looking at once more details come out. EDIT: Just saw this. Very self-aware, especially at the health potion part. (Practically read my mind.)
  20. Days of Play Sale, y'all! Finally got Horizon Zero Dawn - Complete Edition for $20! There's other stuff too, just you'll probably have to go to Walmart as most is sold out on Amazon.

I'm honestly tempted by the PS4 pro...

  21. Yeah, and she's a pain to fight. Much more aggressive than Teostra and can dish out damage quick if the game hates you. Took five attempts on the final quest to complete. Too many times getting that one person who takes up all the faints.
  22. Detroit: Become Human Yep, I bought it because I'm still craving single player experiences rather than joining multiplayer matches to grind for loot boxes. Without getting knee deep into spoilers, I do genuinely think this is a great game. Not a masterpiece or anything, more along the lines of Until Dawn. I admit I never got around to Heavy Rain, and I doubt I'll ever play Beyond: Two Souls. This game however was a memorable experience that truthfully does have many different branching paths. Seriously, after my "story completion" I saw different scenarios on YouTube of what could happen to the characters. It has its rough patches, and I'm not happy with where one of my characters ended up. That's the thing about this game; it feels like there's never a break for your characters from just being screwed over. I get that that's the point when androids end up becoming a dangerous entity, but depending on how you play that can be chalked up to mankind's fear. But seriously, there are moments that just screw you over. Like the game can lie to you about how well long something might take, or how well you're doing when ultimately the choice is a bad one. I'm going to play the last bit over because while I'm happy (or content) with where Connor and Markus ended up, Kara's story got screwed up because of said wrenches in a relentless pursuit to... CANADA!
  23. I thoroughly enjoyed FLCL Progressive Episode 1, a.k.a. RE: start I don't think it's fair to compare it too much to the original. When people talk about feeling FLCL when they look at these new seasons, that's a difficult task in my mind. If all it was trying to do was check the same check boxes as the original, then it would be condemning itself to being a mere imitation. Yes the manga panels are icon, but they don't have to be thematic. FLCL is now evolving into a series and I think the important aspect to that is how it addresses coming of age during adolescence. Whether you're a kid first entering into it, finding your way through it, or needing to exit from it when the time comes... That's FLCL
  24. Since the first movie, Deadpool has been that adult-only hero that parents still try to justify taking their kids with them. Ultimately they still get upset at theaters or 20th Century Fox because now lil' Jeffrey has seen pegging when he was "only suppose to" see blood and bullets. I could see Deadpool still working under Disney, but they'd definitely tone him down if he's making appearances in other films. I mean, the character was in an episode or two of a modern Spider-Man show that aired on Disney XD. That was a few years ago, so I also think kids get their "Deadpool fix" one way or another. He was also in that Avengers anime show for kids too, if I remember right.
