I'm still waiting till the day my original PS4 dies. I've never liked buying the same console again, even though the Pro is effectively a PS4.1 in comparison. Like maybe I could, in RDR2, burn an entire mound of lawmen corpses and the rest of the alleyway without the framerate going to absolute crap. The game still looks absolutely beautiful, though I imagine textures would probably work better on Pro.

Well, all I know is that I'm itching to take my niece to it this summer. I was hoping at some point I'd take my own kid to something like this, but I haven't reached that part yet (not for a lack of trying).

Agreed with Ethan. I did a stage couch robbery with Bill last night; one that's optional and not story-related. The thing goes FUBAR because Bill and we have to kill all the guards. I accidentally killed one of the guard's horses and my honor takes a hit. I figure I can recover from it eventually and carry on. You have to jump onto the stage couch to slow it down and once you do you have blow open the door with dynamite. Two more dead horses and my honor has taken a big hit. I think to myself, "Screw this, I'll restart!" However, my last save was from 30 minutes ago... Manual saving is still better than the autosaving in this game, but last night I was a little forgetful. I ended up redoing a story mission all so I didn't have the death of three horses on my Arthur. Reminds me of the time when I was doing the gunslinger side mission on top of a train. I was pretty poor at dueling at first because the controls are convoluted, so I had a few restarts from dying. When I finally defeated the gunslinger, turns out my horse spawned next to the moving train and was hit by it. So I restarted from my last save because the horse is too good to let die.

Dang, logged on to post this first thing and you beat me by a minute. ? I seriously couldn't believe what I was seeing, especially when I saw it wasn't some kind of fan-made trailer. After watching it, I want to say I would see this in theaters. Part of it is probably from a childhood desire to see a legit live-action Pokemon movie that has believable looking Pokemon. I would say some Pokemon are perhaps a bit too fluffy (e.g. Jigglypuff), but it beats having them looking all smooth and fleshy.

It's an impressive game, but all the little hiccups keep me from saying this is definitely GOTY. It feels like for every cool and engaging moment, there's a finicky and frustrating mechanic that you have to train yourself to overcome. The having to swap your fists in the Weapon Wheel to make L2 the button to interact versus aiming your weapon. Also, Autosave is not your friend in this game (and you have to turn if off every session). The first robbery you do in Valentine, I got screwed out of the goods inside. I shot all the enemies and while I pick up my first item, I was Wanted and there were four lawmen outside the building. I load up the game as I didn't want a $165 bounty so early on, but the autosave occurs before the moment the law gets involved. Of course, I do a different robbery and it repeats somehow. I don't know if I can repeat the doctor one as I missed the revolver (though I'm sure I have a better one now). Then you have your typical horse shenanigans. I learned that the Circle button has a number of uses in this moment:

If only Bungie were able (or maybe allowed) your character to transfer over to another platform. I have a newer GPU now, so I could definitely run it better than I did during the Beta. Still not a fan of the keyboard controls, but aiming with mouse adds more advantages. Stability and Handling become such moot stats on your weapons that you never have to concern yourself with weapon perks that improve those stats.

Not a game, but it's such a handy gaming accessory. I was browsing some YouTube videos when I saw this video where he was using an Xbox One controller on his Switch. Aside from the first 4 minutes being a waste, it proves to do everything it says it will do. I personally haven't tested the motion controls, but I did get my PS4 and Switch to recognize my Xbox One controller. There are some other features, though to me it being a good rechargeable battery is more than enough as I want to avoid batteries. You do have to do a firmware update for it to work on the Switch after the Switch's 5.0 update. Brook Gaming's website isn't the best, yet you can get to the downloads relatively easy. You'll basically be downloading an executable file that only updates the firmware. Nothing more and it's probably for the best as I can't imagine this company making a user-friendly GUI to do key mappings and turbo settings. The manual is giant, but that's because it has English, Japanese, Korean, and two Chinese languages for instructions. As long as you remember how to switch modes (Switch, PS4, PC, Xbox One), that's all you need. Seriously, I was going to splurge on the Smash Ultimate Edition Pro controller, but now I can use a controller I was exclusively using for PC. The adapter is $50 however, so unless you don't currently have a Pro controller or have enough controllers for the other platforms, you can pass on it.

I'll have to break the news to my father that he'll have to watch Attack on Titan in subs. Granted, with how slow the English dub episodes have been coming out, he watched the subtitled ones. Because of this I got an email saying I've received $20 VRV credit, so basically two free months. Given that I watch other "channels" on VRV aside from Crunchyroll, I'll still keep it.

I put this very low on the OK list. Venom Outside of Eddie and Venom, all these characters are forgettable. They're flat with no development and so they serve a single role. I want to commend Jenny Slate for her role as Dr. Skirth because it must have been unfulfilling work. Anne, Brock's girlfriend/fiancé, is okay but the writing behind the character gets muddled halfway through the film. The doctor is absolutely pointless outside of, "Durr, the symbiote is killing you!" (which we never get a concrete answer on). Life Foundation CEO is just obsessed with space colonization that he does evil things. It certainly is mindless fun, but in my opinion if you have any knowledge of the comic book Venom, this isn't exactly how he should be. You'll get people you claim he's true to character, but the reality of that is only in the basic sense. Yeah, he's scary and big and doesn't understand humanity. He's not suppose to be a man-eater who is part of an alien posse. Granted you're making a Spider-Man film without Spider-Man, but it gives Venom such a basic backstory and motive. Not to mention there's so much wasted potential in the other symbiotes because in this film there's compatibility issues with hosts. You know how many people have had the Venom symbiote on them in the comics? Not to mention Riot, the antagonist symbiote, didn't have any issue. Of course, spoilers If it wasn't for the rather good and entertaining back-and-forth of Eddie and the Venom symbiote, this would be utter garbage. The writing is still questionable for Venom because there's a few contradictory moments. Almost as if the writers spit-balled some scenarios for Eddie/Venom to go through to make up for the lack of Spider-Man. On an arbitrary scale, I'd go with a 5/10 as I still was entertained, but it could have been better even with the lack of a key character.

When your leading actor dumps on your upcoming film saying the best parts aren't in the final cut. Yeesh!

I've stepped into the Twilight Zone, man. Best Spider-Man game since Spider-Man 2 and I can't wait till the DLC arrives this month. It doesn't even follow any one comic book story or universe as its primary source. Actually, this Spidey is his own Spider-Man in the Marvel comics. We can always tote the idea that certain characters tend to lean towards a certain fate.

FooL on CooL generation I finally got the CD in the mail! Damn, Play-Asia took forever so I'll have to remember there's CDs on Amazon Japan in the future. Been abstaining so I can listen to it directly from my own rip and not online. But if you must...

Two things that got me through Behemoth was having fully Augmented armor and putting on Wide Range to at least Lv 3. I ran Wide Range Lv 5 as the primary healer, but it's truly helpful if everyone has Wide-Range to assure no one is close to fainting. An actual good tank character goes a long ways as it does stop Behemoth from wildly attacking and lets everyone else get in good damage. A good Lance or Heavy Bowgun made some of my runs so much easier.

Regular Behemoth: Yes Extreme Behemoth: Nope Unless you've got an actual squad of people you know or communicate with effectively, Extreme Behemoth will be nigh impossible. His fourth and fifth stages require coordination that's rare to build in randoms. Regular Behemoth is doable so long as everyone knows what makes Behemoth tick and to protect any comets that land from Behemoth. If you're doing Behemoth right now, I'm not sure what kind of people you're coming across. Once I had enough materials for the full armor set and weapon, I haven't touched him since.

Hey now, two things: 1. Andrew Garfield is worst Spider-Man, hands down. Watched the films again and he's way too cool for Peter Parker and he's quite a jerk as Spider-Man. 2. Pizza Time! The stealth sections are pretty damn exploitable once you get how forgiving the AI is at detecting you. Problems is it can get buggy, at least for two sections I played as Miles. One wouldn't let me exit the area for some reason, so I got caught and was brought back to a different area of the map. The other, assuming you're in Act 3...

Last night I Platinum'd Marvel's Spider-Man. I did everything aside from the Secret Photo Ops before the final boss fight. You can really challenge yourself during the game, but for the trophies you don't have to stress about getting everything. Kinda surprising, but nice that there isn't a deep grind. Before I put the game down I was at three Superior levels (anything over 50). I had to use a guide to find only one Secret Photo Op because I naturally got 49/50 just swinging around. Secret costume is neat, but nothing to stress about if you don't have it... yet! Like I was saying in the Spider-Man thread, definitely has GOTY qualities to it. Definitely the best Spider-Man game, and honestly one would hope after the last couple mediocre titles. The game takes parts of all Spider-Man media to make this strangely alluring Spidey universe. No really, it takes ques from all the movies, comics, and other games. Almost like a tribute to Spider-Man as a whole. Yeah, it's kinda odd that there's never been a Green Goblin for this Peter, and at the end it appears that... And I believe Jim Sterling and some others describing J Jonah Jameson as this game's Alex Jones is a perfect analogy. Granted, I feel like you love-hate just for his absurd assumptions and pompous attitude towards anyone who disagrees with him. Mary Jane is great, though some of her segments were honestly wasted. Her last two were really what all of them should have been from the start. Same goes for the other character, though I ran into glitches with his last two missions. Yuri Lowenthal does an excellent Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Really delivers the highs and lows of Peter life both as Parker and Spidey. The ending is so damn powerful that you feel the struggle he goes through with two of his personal icons. I'd type more but my laptop is gonna die, but just an absolutely amazing and spectacular game!

I'm a huge Spider-Man fan, so I'm biased. It's definitely GOTY material as for the most part it has only minor flaws. Nothing deal-breaking, though I will say they didn't quite scale the combat proper in the beginning as the game expects you to web everything as a solution. Later on you get so much variety that you can approach fights however you please. Thankfully unlocking suits gives you the freedom of mixing suit powers with a different suit as well as having three different mods to practically abuse the combat mechanics.

I saw today on Reddit that Spider-Man can swim in this game. 10/10 No, seriously, I got the email saying my package has been delivered and I'm anxious to take the game for a spin. Gonna be hard to balance this along with D2 and Monster Hunter.

I've got a good paying job and I've been eyeing this baby for like a year. 10 series cards have been going down in price and this one is $300 on Amazon and Walmart. My local Best Buy sells them though so I got it from them. Thing is, they're difficult to price match with because the employees state they can only price match from a corporate provided tool that shows approved prices. It's a bunch of bull and if you stress that Amazon or Walmart can fulfill the price, a manager will most likely fulfill the price match. Had the sales associate trying to claim it was a Prime-only deal, which I quickly pointed out I'm not a Prime member anymore. You know, what with the whole 20% off discount going away and some of the Twitch Prime stuff too. Of course, the app still shows "Amazon Prime" so it made for a good excuse for him to weasel out of the argument. Can't argue Walmart fiercely trying to show-up Amazon though. Anyway, the card is a little longer than I thought. I mean, the 760 was already long, but this thing is a bit beefier and I had to angle the thing in. I might explore shifting my drives around and seeing about getting the drive rack out of the way. It's more of a pain than it's worth for this evening given the way the rack is screwed/mounted in the case. Primary goal was to get it in and test out those Ultra settings!

TFW your new graphics card has just enough clearance in your current case. Yeah, there's about 2-3mm between the card and drive rack. More details in upcoming post.

I'd like to get the headset if anything. I've got the original Gold headset, and while it still functions just fine, I like the redesign of the new Gold headset. Problem is you can't really resell/trade-in headphones so I'd have an old functional pair doing nothing. If I did get a Pro console, rather than trading it in, I'd probably give it to my brother-in-law and maybe the headset too. I'm not sure if he would be interested though since he doesn't really play games.
-
I'd enjoy getting one, but I guarantee it'll be a pain to try and snag one. If anything, I can always stick with getting the Spider-Man edition Pro console. I've been wanting to upgrade one day, though there's never been that great of a bundle or design that's been worth it.

So like I stated in my status update, load times on PC with SSD are crazy fast compared to the console version. Now you're probably saying, "Well, duh! SSD will be faster!" Nah, even when a PS4 has a SSD, the PC version is getting people into quests/investigations faster! Below I've timestamp the video where the user compared the stock PS4 1TB HDD versus a 500GB SSD. Maximilian Dood went to the same map for the same monster, though a different quest.
-
I'm kinda jelly of ya'll who're getting Monster Hunter World on PC. SSD load times are crazy fast!

Does the scout rifle have the Kinetic +5 damage modifier? The 350 one sounds like it was 345 +5 mod.
