  1. I thought I would post about the FLCL episode since I got to watch it a few days ago through the DVR on PlayStation Vue. Though that has some issue which you can read up on in the PlayStation 4 thread. So it's a bit bold of them to show the first episode of Season 3 rather than Season 2, though for the most part these seasons are meant to be self-contained. However, I thought there might be some character progression in terms of Haruko. That while FLCL was primarily about Naota and his development, Haruko was the Mary Poppins character. A prominent supporting character who gets the wheels turning for all of the crazy shenanigans. Granted Haruko is more so Chaotic Neutral and isn't thinking of Naota's best interest in her pursuit of Atomsk's N.O. power. Still, it's a amazingly unique coming of age story, if not part slice of life since we're given context to those around Naota in his life. I bring this up because Alternative appears to be focusing on the slice of life aspect with coming of age as a looming undertone. Kana, a 17-year old high school girl, is the main character and she has a group of close female friends. They hang out a lot and do appear to enjoy their life. Yet, the undertone is that Kana won't be a young adult forever, but an actual adult very soon. While the episode promises this potential, it's rather laid back compared to the OVA's first episode. Nothing is too crazy until the near end. This episode I believe is meant to setup Kana and her group of friends; to establish their friendship and how they appear on a surface level. I expect that for the rest of the episodes, we're going to explore each of these girls and how adulthood can sometimes mean going your separate ways, or just facing who you are and what you want to be for the rest of your life. There are quite a bit of references to the OVA, which are neat, but don't try to directly tie themselves to Kana's story. Well, at least for now, but I don't expect anyone aside from Haruko to be a significant character in either Season 2 or 3. On Haruko, I was honestly surprised that when she was introduced, it was so casual. If you haven't seen it yet, it's so drastically opposite of her first appearance in the OVA. So again, maybe something does happen to Haruko in Season 2 (Progressive), but as far as we can tell she's still messing with N.O. power.
  2. One downside of PlayStation Vue, the DVR function doesn't update according to actual episode. It's only when the episode was originally meant to air. This means, while I got to watch FLCL Season 3 Episode 1 (April Fools airing), it didn't record the actual next episode of JoJo this past Saturday. I've already seen all of Stardust Crusaders, but I let my father use my Vue account so he can watch JoJo in English. Eventually the episode will become On Demand, meaning a formatted video, though not always higher quality. I suggested he could download the VRV app on his Amazon Fire TV stick and watch it subtitled. He wasn't quite interested in doing that, so I ended up telling him about the episode.
  3. I too have finished The Enemy Within. In the span of two days, because I have little time to draw this out. I will say, this series was far more Bruce focused and at times I felt like I was barely playing as Batman. Like I didn't get to do that much in-depth investigation when compared to the last game.
  4. Batman: The Enemy Within It's all out now and on Steam it's 25% off so it only cost me $18.74. That's a free episode right there!
  5. Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z have always been big in both Central and South America. It's like everyone's childhood and Goku is the ultimate fighter. When I was young, myself and others were able to get along with some South American kids over Dragon Ball Z. They would tell us what's coming up in the series and discuss the fights we all had seen.
  6. I got Monster Hunter: World a few days ago. Mainly to take my mind off of my dog's passing, as I didn't feel I had the time to spend on such a game. I'm already 6 hours in. I'm having more of an engaging time than Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the 3DS. That's thanks to the streamlining of a few mechanics and that to get some good gear doesn't require crazy grinding.
  7. Reaction: "What a cool Splato... Oh my! OH MY! OH MY GOODNESS!"
  8. Sally, our family dog, passed away March 7th, 2018 around 9:00 AM MST. I was getting ready for my part-time job when my father walked up to me with the news after having the vet office call him. This was half an hour after visiting her and under the belief that she was getting better. From the prior days, she was more alert and was happy to see us once again visit her. The family would visit once in the morning, and once in the afternoon each day while she was at the vet. We even left her one of her favorite toys and I was happy to know she was getting her fluids. She had suffered from hemorrhaging in her liver from liver cysts. Normally, older dogs do development these, but rarely do they ever rupture. We don't know if was her medication for her other cancer she was recovering from, or if some kind of physical trauma caused the rupture. She was only 11 years-old, and I miss her with every ounce of my being.
  9. I watched it Monday night, and was lucky enough to catch it before it all started. I didn't realize it was going to be three episodes making for a 1.5 hour special. The first of the three episodes dragged on, though it did a good job setting up for the other two. I feel that's where we actually get our series finale because the plan is in motion. All the characters are fulfilling their roles and there's hiccups in the plan, but we're not sure if the bad guys actually have the upper hand. That's summarizing it all too much. Ultimately I feel like whether someone disliked or liked Ezra in the series, his character and actions in these last episodes was very mature and definitely worthy of being a Jedi Knight.
  10. I may have to say good bye to my best friend tonight. The family dog, she had a rough weekend. I'm emotionally torn and part of me wants to believe she can recover. But she didn't look well at the vet this morning and the reality of never bringing her back home is setting in.

Damn, that's rough.  I went through this before with the old family cat and it's just devastating.  Sorry about your dog, man.

    3. MetalCaveman

      MetalCaveman

That sucks, I had to go through that with my dog and it wasn't fun, though the vet made it clear it was for the best, as Dan said, it helps to know that they won't be in pain anymore.

    4. Hot Heart

      Hot Heart

Sorry to hear about that. Coming up to a year since we had to put our cat down. She was nearly 18 and was the sweetest pet who was always by my side when I was at home so I know how tough it is.

  11. Coco I never got to see it in theaters and finally was able to sit down and watch it on Blu-ray. This film is easily in my Top 3 of Pixar films. Like, I've cried a few times after watching the film because of how sweet and powerful the film ended up. I went in expecting a kind of grand adventure to escape the Land of the Dead, but nope! It's a great film about family, responsibility, betrayal, and the power of music. I only thing that's a bit odd to me is how Miguel's entire family was opposed to music. I get the reasoning, but it's kinda funny to think this family grew for a few generations by marrying anti-music people.
  12. I got myself Titanfall 2 on PC. I forgot how awful Origin is. I bought the digital code on Amazon because screw trying to add card information on that mess. Even when I got the game in, I tried downloading it and Origin asks me if I want to download Origin. WTF, I'm already in Origin, but the other option is to open Origin. I had to go to the Games tab and that's where I could download the actual game.
  13. Very likely, because it's just too much of a coincidence. It's not much of a stretch as everything follows a consistent pattern. Only thing I wonder is if Yota and Yugi are backstabbers to Kojima, or people think little of them for keeping their job while Kojima and others were blacklisted by Konami.
  14. Are the Hori Mini Gamepads actually quite small? I was honestly looking into one simply for how the D-Pad is designed. As much as I like the DS4, I don't like using it for actual directional movement. It's fine when games use Up, Down, Left, and Right as say shortcuts or quick equip functions. Yet, the way it's design hurts my thumb if I actually have to use it for constant character movement.
  15. I haven't invested a lot of time on the issue, mainly because I don't see there being a quick solution. A lot of discussion is saying there's a quick fix, either with absolute gun control or better healthcare for mental illness. Of course, as the old adage goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. The attitude we have on mental illness in the US isn't kind still and not everyone would seek help. Take away guns, and you have what my high school went through both with knives and bomb scares. The nation and its people are going to have to change together, and not just by saying it'll work, but also making sure it works. Being proactive with the individuals who can become mass shooters; others reflecting on their hobby and what the cost of assault weapons brings. Just this week I learned about the actors conspiracy and I wouldn't be surprised if this country's news media made scripted victims. To clarify, I believe most victims are not naturally interested in being interviewed and asked to relive recent trauma along with the realization that classmates and faculty are dead. That it is now reality and not a dream they can wake up from. So instead, to get more footage, News Station X gets a set of seniors to fill a narrative for footage and to bring up current politics. As far as how deep that rabbit hole goes, I can't say I even believe it's a rabbit hole, but I can't deny there's a hole in the ground. Just, at the same time, I think the house that's on fire is a much more pressing matter.
  16. I tried to go see the film today, but a lot of the showings were sold out. Decided to go see it later once it wasn't a holiday (and less school children).
  17. If you'd like another match I did later that night. If you only have time for a single round, skip to the last one where I go out with style.
  18. If anyone would like to watch, I did some Ranked Matches last night. I honestly got lucky half the time, but the other times I felt stupid for getting beat. I do believe I'm improving by fighting real people.
  19. Dear lord, their AI has reached velociraptor level! InGen has to be involved somehow!
  20. I don't really follow eSports, but from time to time I watch Overwatch League. When the game gave us a free OWL skin in-game, I looked at a few of the US teams and picked Houston Outlaws. They're playing right now against London Spitfire. I haven't watched them play before, so imagine my surprise when I see their roster is entirely South Korean. Wut? So I was under the assumption that OWL was country-based with Seoul Dynasty being the South Korean team. Now I know why I've seen discussions in the game's community about players playing for foreign teams. Again, don't follow eSports so I always scrolled past the stuff.
  21. So for me, Story Mode didn't get challenging until the last two maps of the Android Arc. At least, the AI was getting a lot more aggressive with Assists and combos. I will say, I did get Adult Gohan knocked out before the final boss battle, so I'm glad I had Yamcha in reserve. He was only two levels below my Android 18 and Android 21, so I'm glad I had worked on him. That final boss was something in the end. I had the clock run out and I'm glad I had the higher health. I thank having Health Regen equipped to get me to survive one of her crazy ass combos. Now it's time to play as Android 21!
  22. To all those that hunt Monsters, kill a few for me. I don't think I'll be hunting any time soon. Too much going on in my life.

  23. Is it complete now? Like all the episodes have been released?
  24. K, I'm sold on this Pop Team Epic (use subtitles)!
  25. Got the game and played through some hours of Story Mode. It's really easy right now, so I'm hoping it ramps up. I played some Casual Matches and most players kicked my butt. Considering I was playing way late into the night, I was only getting matched up with the dedicated players who's Player Card is decked out with their wins and stats. I was able to complete all of Yamcha's combos and 8/10 of Adult Gohan's combos. The split second timing you need is almost beyond me, but I definitely want to main Yamcha.
