So... Rating's are currently high, but we've yet to see console scores come in and I don't think CDPR will sustain their 9/10s at that point, and it is a buggy dumpsterfire of a game. Feels like it was released too soon (perils of being publicly traded - you can only delay so much before investors get twitchy). I'm glad I skipped on this as I don't really go in for the version of "mature" that CDPR subscribe to. Saying "fuck" loads, nakedness, and gore are not, imo signs of a mature game. Contrast God of War in PS1-3 era and God of War PS4. PS4 is infinitely more mature than 1-3 despite a lack of button mashing sex scenes. That said, by all accounts, the world they've built is great and something that they can perhaps build on in the future.

I'd have to check, but Ethan's estimate feels about right. I'm playing through again for NG+ trophy on Very Easy, hopefully shouldn't take long (I reckon 3-5hrs).

Spider-Man Mile Morales Really enjoyed this. Just need to mop up the last few trophies.

Played the demo on Stadia and found the Zeus / Prometheus banter really grating.

Reading Hogfather (again) since it is that time of year. HO HO HO.

You can load epubs, and pdfs so, yeah it is good for reading (and you can scribble on your books). Reddit considers it fairly hackable too. Writing on it feels reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaally nice. I've been using it a fair bit of the past couple of days. making lists, checking them twice. Notes for wedding planning. Even sketched a design for my wedding ring. Think it will be handy for seating plan as well. Also used it for noting things when playing puzzle games. Only downside is that it is on the pricey side, though the v1 is obvs now more affordable. I'm lucky that I can afford it.

Ordered this like six months ago, arrived yesterday: https://remarkable.com/store/remarkable-2 I use it for work note taking, and for crossword puzzles. Lots of people seem to use it as a sketch pad, but I cannot draw for shit.

"not only kills a franchise but also salts the earth so nothing can ever grow on it again." - Yeah. Didn't like the end. The story up to that point was the usual hot Dangan-nonsense that I enjoy. I found all the same things annoying that you did I think. Oh well, there's always the Zero Escape series to keep your spirits up.

Have acquired Spidey MM, Astro, Demon's Souls, SackBoy and Bug Snax... Will probably start with Astro and go from there... -
Cool. I feel like Taskmaster stuff in the original was targeted way too high.
-
@TheMightyEthan <--- Oooh, didn't know that was a "thing". Anyway, will deffo be playing Spider-Man first when my console arrives (tomorrow). Just wondering (non-spoilery) are there any annoying timed mission 3 star things like the Taskmaster stuff in the last game? I really hated them.

I don't remember falling foul of them, there were a couple of forumites I did not get on with... But they're all gone now.

Ahhh, this series. Utterly wonderful nonsense! -
Excited for Eikons to be super powerful until mid-game, at which point your basic physical attack will hit harder, as is tradition.

I've been playing Super Hot Mind, Control, Delete on Stadia and have found the graphics pretty good. What's your connection like there? I noticed that there was a lot more positivity on the Stadia Reddit as more people actually tried the tech and found it to work really well.

lol, same same. I'd love them to remaster DS3 to go through coop again. Edit: Completed my first silver survival run today. Legends is fun as all hell!
-
Have you played Dead Space 3 coop? It was one of the best gaming experiences ever. Genuinely disturbing. I'm currently playing Legends of Tsushima. So. Much. Fun! Would like to try story mode if anyone is up for doing them I have a Hunter and Ronin available for hacking and/or slashing.

Most excited for the tips picture-in-picture thing. No more looking for lists of collectible locations only to be met with several 15minute long videos with adverts every 30seconds.

The last three are somewhat, but scope and delays not so much. Most AAA games have a pretty tight core loop, which is why most of them release on schedule. I can't fault CDPR's ambition, but I just have a feeling it will land like No Man's Sky did. A sort of "oh, this is *it*?" feeling. It will have its fans, but I don't think it will be a 9/10 rated must-have. I hope I'm wrong, if only because I've met CDPR folk and they are decent, like I say, just a gut feeling. -

Decades of experience in the industry? Lol. Dunno. Just a gut feeling. The scope, the delays, the crunch, the corner cutting on some stuff I just think it's going to disappoint. The scope: Hacking, shooting, dialogue, driving, rpg elements, action elements, you cram all that stuff in and some of it will feel a bit naff which makes the whole product feel lower quality. The delays: coupled with the scope I get the feeling it's either feature creeping like a bastard and they're having to finish or cut stuff, which leaves the game feeling like it is missing something or is bloated and they can't decide which to do which means it will feel a bit of both. The crunch: critical bugs will be missed, quality of coding drops during crunch, and the above issues of scope are compounded. The corner cutting: Naming characters "Esquerdo" and "Certo" for "Left" and "Right" when "Certo" means "correct" not "right" as in handed, while that on it's own is a throwaway thing, it suggests that there is a lack of finesse/oversight within the project as a whole. Just like spelling mistakes in your CV don't mean you can't spell, they do suggest that you didn't bother to double check. All that makes me think that it's going to disappoint a bit. *shrug* I could well be wrong. It's not my bag either way, I just think it will disappoint based on the hype around it. -

Correct choice I think. Cyberpunk is going to disappoint bigly. -
The cynic in me says that most voters don't care beyond tribalism. Edit: But true, I guess there are a few swing voters who are capable of critical thinking.

Find it odd that US are going through the performative democracy of "hearings" for the new SCOTUS judge. Brett Kavanaugh's appointment showed that there is no point in the hearings. Nobody in the hearings is interested in background, commitment to justice, suitability to hold a seat in the highest court. They should just turn up and say "Red" or "Blue" and then skip to the vote.

Still need to beat Hell House on hard once more to get the final manuscript. But then I'm like done done.

e.g. Joe's Diner looks like a cheap, racist Five Nights at Freddy's knock off. Not surprised that it has been consigned to the dustbin.
