I flippin' hate those retarded intro things. Complete pain in the arse and utterly pointless. No idea what they were thinking. Personally I find it too easy. Since you aren't really progressing up a linear path once you've maxed out one car and move on to the next you go back to super easy and slowly work your way up again to slightly difficult. It's one of those games that I play on my Vita on flights because it's easy to pick up where you left off and once you've completed a car you can just hop to another game for a bit.

Such a great game. Been playing through again with the commentary on. Just so brilliant I love it.

It's nothing yet, just a content deal signed between Viacom and Sony.

1. Copy the entire game directory (Example Battlefield Bad Company™ 2 Digital Deluxe Edition is 8.33 GB). Now you have basically three options. A: Transfer these files to the other computer over your home network. B: Transfer to a USB key that has enough space then transfer to the other computer. C: Burn files onto a dual layer DVD (This option requires a special drive and space is limited so you may need to span the files across two discs). 2. Once the files are on the other computer in the directory where you normally install your games, navigate to the directory called ""__Installer\DISK1"". 3. Find the EASetup.exe file and run it. Running this file will create the proper registry keys you need for the game to be detected and launch properly from Origin. Apparently...

I found it quite challenging for an FPS as well. CoOp was where that game really shone though. Pity it didn't fare better.

Not sure, since you have to "activate" the Xbone, it might be supported in Sweden, but if it isn't you are SOL. "After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again." http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update If so, I don't think you could import without using VPN to activate which is just setting yourself up for a headache in the future.

She'd have to be logged in to the Origin account that registered the game.

Dropping Russia is absolutely bewildering. It's one of the biggest economies on the planet, is disputed territory in so far as consoles go and is still growing at a decent pace when many other countries are seeing 0 or negative growth. If you're gonna drop territories drop Spain (which is PS owned anyway) and Italy, both of which have a struggling economy and are already at MS console saturation. Also, having both the developers of Witcher 3 and Battlefield 4 unable to play your game on release when they were at your hardware launch event is laughable.

Defense Grid: Awakening. Break open the raspberries. We stopped the blighters. Now on to the DLC.

Incidentally, I don't know if they will have pre-loading or not. Clearly the PS3 is capable of it now, since you can install a "trial version" and then download a 100kb unlock file. Instead of a trial you could just download a totally not working version. So it stands to reason that both PS4 and Xbox One could do the same.
-
In practical terms, what's the difference? You can play immediately in either case. I inferred from "pre-caching" that you meant that content was streamed and cached. Rather than downloading in advance of release.
-
Is that DLC on the Vita version as well? Need a reason to return to the Guac.

The power brick itself has the same lead going from the wall to it. The bit that plugs into the PSP is a standard 5v DC I think. The Vita power brick uses the same with a proprietary USB connector the other side.

Pretty certain that PS4 allows playing while downloading. Xbone also has a provision that a certain amount of playable content has to be available after a small(ish) download. So with either console you won't need to DL all 30gb to start playing.

It's crazy to launch hardware without a strong software line-up. If there is one thing that is true of all consoles it is that software sells hardware. Rehashing old games is not going to shift anything. The only people buying old ninty games are the hardcore, which happens to be the only people who are buying the Wii U. Lucky for nintendo margins on both hard and software for these are great. But that will only work for so long.

It's interesting, this isn't the first I've seen this mentality. There are those who would be THRILLED if Smash Brothers was taken away from it's progenitor so Sakurai would stop "ruining the franchise". And yes, a lot of the things that people didn't like in Metroid Other M came directly from Mr. Sakamoto, also known as the guy who made metroid. I tend to be unsympathetic to such views. Regardless of what product comes from it, I wish I lived in a world where games could be a reflection of individuals, and if those individuals change or were never happy with what everyone else thought of as a "masterpiece" then they should keep chasing that original muse. Better that these games release and are polarizing and reflect the auteurs who came up with them than that they get absorbed into the homogenized whole of Nintendo EAD. Sakamoto's only one third of Metroid though! There's still Satoru Okada (granted, he's stuck doing handheld stuff now) and Gunpei Yokoi (RIP!). I don't have a problem with the idea of a game being a reflection of an individual, but that also doesn't mean an individual should be immune to criticism or feedback from anyone else. If the rest of the team wanted to use the nunchaku in conjunction with the Wii remote while Sakamoto was needlessly adamant about 'the simplicity of only using the Wii remote', let the feedback from play testing speak for itself. Sometimes dumb ideas are just dumb and there's no excusing it. Based on the interviews floating around the interbutts, Sakamoto sounds like one of those guys who wants things his way and anyone who disagrees 'just doesn't understand his grand vision'. We all know how those guys tend to work out. One minor niggle, bit of a pet peeve but... It's called a Nunchuk™ not a nunchaku. http://www.nintendo.com/wii/what-is-wii/#/controls/nunchuk On topic. One of the problems with "artists" is that you have to take the bad with the good. They often have a unique vision now because they have been ignoring people telling them that X is wrong or Y won't work all their lives and every now and then they prove the critics wrong. It's a kind of gambler mentality. They remember the hits, they forget (or explain away) the flops and carry on with the same system till they get rich or go bankrupt.

Bluetooth or 3.5mm jack. Besides which. Not too fussed in any event. The mono headset looks serviceable. What's next? Shall we compare the HDMI cables bundled with the consoles?
-
Don't forget how long it takes to translate Mario games. "Hup!" "Wuh!" "Yahoooo!" "Waaaaaaaaaa!" these complex phrases are not just overnight, stick it in Google Translate jobs. They need to be crafted.

Bought Defense Grid and all the DLC. That will keep me occupied during dull conference calls.

Not much of a point of recording it without sharing it. Plus perhaps there is some cloud computing shit going on with it such as always uploading what you're doing. Ohhh! There is possibly "cloud computing shit" going on? Well that's fine then. Or you know people could just record the output like they do currently, and then share that stuff via youtube like they do currently. This Xbone "Power of the Cloud" bollocks is the most emperor's new clothes thing I've ever witnessed. FDS is gaping at all the marvellous colours while Dean is shouting "He's fucking naked for Christ's sake!" I honestly can't understand how someone who managed to navigate their way through life to this forum cannot see what a load of crap MS are peddling.

Just the one? What if I get the wrong colour?

I bought Frozen Synapse complete edition. Also got Lego LotR and When Vikings Attack courtesy of PS Plus.

The Frozen Synapse soundtrack is really rather good.

Same place they used for "Paradox Training" in Inception. Obviously we didn't have the Escher staircase installed at the time, though that would have explained why I was always late for meetings.
