  1. HOW DID I MISS THAT?! I WATCHED IT TWICE! *Edit - @Ultra TCP After watching the Smash trailer and not seeing BotW Link I thought you just meant how he's in Hyrule Warriors.
  2. Dammit, @Ultra TCP! You got me all excited thinking BotW Link was in Smash.
  3. Apparently the PC version has some stuttering and long load issues that have been fixed with a mod, in case anyone's encountering them.
  4. Losing a pet is hard.
  5. Tiny Metal This is a really excellent Advance Wars clone. I think I even liked it more than most of the actual Advance Wars games I've played. My biggest complaint is that some of the units can't see far enough. Otherwise it was a lot of fun, and just the right difficulty (after the January patch that increased the difficulty of the last two levels). I would love a sequel.
  6. This game can be really cool looking at times. Re: the backstory: I've now played a flashback sequence, and I had misunderstood. The line from the opening cutscene that I had based my "pharaoh's guard" assumption on actually was just a reference to my station pre-kidnapping, which was a kind of protector-of-the-realm type thing. (The line was something along the lines of "I thought the medjay were supposed to protect the pharaoh"). Apparently the backstory is supposed to be a bit of a mystery, but the way it was presented it didn't feel like it was mysterious, just disjointed. I'm still enjoying the game though.
  7. Actually, all these text generation bots scare me with how good they are. Like, obviously that story is dumb and ridiculous, but it's coherent enough that you can actually follow it. Lines make sense in context with previous lines, there's back and forth, ideas carry throughout the scene (like being inside the whale), and it brings in outside knowledge (like that blood shouldn't be outside your body and that it would bother someone if it was). That means that bot is already better at creating cohesive stories than any living thing besides humans. Hell, that could easily have been written by a human child. Given how fast technology develops that indicates to me that we're coming up on machines that are smarter than us way faster than it seems like. *This is all assuming of course that these things are real, and not written by humans.
  8. I started Assassin's Creed Origins yesterday. It's fun so far (I've played for about an hour and a half) but man, it just is not interested in getting you to care about the main character or his mission. The opening cutscene is so sparse that I'm not even completely clear on who I am or what the back story is, or why I'm wanting to murder these priests. I'm like 75% sure they kidnapped me and murdered my family and turned me into a guard for the pharaoh, but that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense so...
  9. Train to Busan It's a Korean zombie movie, and it's really good. I can't really get into why without ending spoilers though. Anyone who likes zombie movies should watch it.
  10. Homeworld 2 Remastered Another game for the "didn't actually beat it but I'm calling it good" pile. I got to the last level, and the mission design is just atrocious. You have to destroy the enemy, which is all well and good, but while doing so you have to shoot down these missiles that are coming in toward the planet you're orbiting. Except the things launching the missiles are so far apart, and shoot so many of them, that you have to spend all your time microing your fighters to hit the missiles instead of actually managing the battle. Not fun, and I'm not doing it.
  11. I wanted another action-adventure game to play, and this was down to $40 on Humble so I bit.
  12. Obviously vibranium can be worked. It's not like they found Cap's shield fully formed in the dirt.
  13. Yeah, GotG2 wasn't even close to as good as the rest of them.
  14. I loved Transistor. I really like how different all the Supergiant games are, and how beautiful the art is. They also have some of the best music of any games I've ever played. I am a Supergiant fanboy.
  15. Bastion Holy shit that game was good. I can't believe it didn't click with me when I tried the Xbox demo at launch. Supergiant is 3/3 for fantastic games. *Edit - Thank you again @Mr. GOH! for your lovely gift! ?
  16. There were 4: Spider-Man, GotG, Black Panther, and Thor. My point was the fact that this is only third best shows how good Marvel movies have been recently.
  17. Black Panther. It was quite good. At least the third, possibly the second best Marvel movie of the past year (2017 was very good for Marvel movies).
  18. The story is basically over, there's one little cutscene that you get after doing all that stuff, but it's really more like an epilogue than an ending.
  19. Middle Earth: Shadow of War I didn't technically beat this, but I'm calling it beat anyway. Essentially the game should have "ended" with Act III, and then Act IV should have been post-game content, because it's essentially just open world shenanigans with no story missions. So I'm going to say I beat this even though Monolith made the baffling* decision to not put the end credits until after Act IV. It's really quite a great game though, especially if you pretend it ended when it should (Act IV is pretty tedious). I would highly recommend it, despite the snafu with the ending placement. I'll probably get the Story Expansion Pass once the second story DLC releases. *It's not really baffling, they made it part of the "main story" so you feel like you have to play it, and it's tedious because they want you to buy their microtransactions. Thankfully that's not a problem in the main part of the game, I never once felt like I needed to buy anything from the store.
  20. You need to see Event Horizon. I love that movie. That's on my list of media that I wish I could experience for the first time again.
