  1. Who said anything about DLC? I'm saying I wish that was included as part of the base game.
  2. No, but they could have done like Skyward Sword and made the enemies tougher/Link take more damage.
  3. Forum seems nice and snappy today, knock on wood.

Yeah Dreamhost have really miffed me the past few weeks. Very much fingers crossed atm and hoping it stays up for next week and I'd see we're in the clear but their support has gone to shit recently (the entire support ticket system is different now too, let alone the crappy response and time).

  4. Yeah, the United thing is horrible, and comes hot on the heels of their last PR disaster with the girls in leggings (one of whom was 10) getting denied boarding because they weren't "appropriately dressed." The Trump thing explains why he insists his daily briefings be kept to no more than a page, and strongly prefers they be delivered orally.
  5. I think that quote is essentially the same as what Thursday said: just saying it's unfortunate implications, not actually saying they did it maliciously. And anyway, talking about how Japanese people from Japan feel about it is completely missing the point. I can't find it now but I saw a really good post on the topic from a 2nd generation Japanese-American woman talking about how in Japan they're surrounded by media portraying Japanese people as heroes, and just including them in general, so one movie making them white doesn't matter, but in America that isn't the case at all. And since it's an American movie, that is rightly the context in which it is being judged.
  6. Green Man Gaming is having a huge Easter sale right now. There's lots of stuff on it, but I particularly wanted to mention they have the full Hitman season for $25, or the Upgrade Pack for $21. That's the best price I've seen since Gamestop's Christmas sale, and nowhere else has ever been even close to that one.
  7. I don't think Thursday meant that they were intentionally trying to say "they're better cause they're white," just that that is an unfortunate implication that arises when "making them better" also makes them white. So yes, Hanlon's razor, they probably didn't even think of it, but really they should be trying to be more cognizant of this stuff.
  8. Put the spoiler-tastic character in spoiler tags when you answer dean's question, cause I haven't been spoiled yet.
  9. Zelda isn't story-oriented per-se though. The story is really thin on the ground. 99% of what you're doing is "side stuff". And in a weird way I feel like making me go back to before I beat the final boss to continue playing diminishes it, because to me then it feels like that never really happened, because in the world it hasn't happened. That said, the save-right-before-the-boss method that they used is good enough for practical purposes. Really I just wanted a NG+ and/or Master Quest.
  10. Yeah, my only real disappointment with that game is the lack of post-game play, and the lack of a NG+ or Master Quest. Sent from my SM-G920R4 using Tapatalk
  11. It's also blank for me.
  12. Now when looking at status updates clicking "Show previous comments" brings up an "Are you sure?" box, and when you click OK the link to show previous comments goes away but the previous comments are not shown. I know you've got a lot on your plate, and this will be low priority, but just wanted to get it on your list.
  13. I was looking really closely at comparison shots, and I think the main thing they did with the eyes is now they receive shadows from the eyelids. That goes a huge way in making them look like they're actually part of the face rather than painted on. Sent from my SM-G920R4 using Tapatalk
  14. You always want "full pixel" or "full" or the equivalent on anything with good signal (like from a game console). Anything else (such as normal, 16:9, zoom, etc) typically cuts off a bit around the edges. It's a left over from back in the day when analog TV signals actually had pixels that weren't part of the picture, so you wanted the outer edges cut off so the picture would actually fill the whole screen. With most digital content that's not an issue, and "full" or "full pixel" are the only way to make the TV actually display every pixel that's being sent to it. Most games know that TVs do that by default, so they move the UI and stuff a little bit in from the edges so that stuff doesn't get cut off, but it's possible Japanese games do it less, or that your TV cuts off more than most. If you leave it on full pixel you should notice that you can now see more at the edges of everything, which means you're seeing it how it's supposed to be now.
  15. Of course people only want what they think is acceptable to be accepted. I was saying I don't see people going beyond criticism of the viewpoint to actually trying to get stuff banned. If people are doing that regularly, please enlighten me. If that's not what you're talking about, then please elaborate because I want to understand what you are talking about. After writing that I realized that there are lots of personal attacks/doxxing/threats of violence/etc, which is not cool. I'm fine with people thinking an idea is reprehensible, and even fine with people finding the people who hold it/advocate for it reprehensible, but using threats beyond economic actions and criticism is not okay. I think I didn't make the connection to what you were talking about at first because I was focused on the "ban it" thing, so wasn't thinking about other ways people do that. That said, at least in the context of games/pop culture I only see one side doing those sorts of things, and it ain't the liberals. *Edit - I don't mean that as some kind of absolute truth or anything, I realize it's just my anecdotal experience, and if there are examples of that stuff happening from the left I would like to hear about them. Information is our friend.
  16. ^ Yes that, combined with the fact that you got expelled for your criminal record and this was the only school that would accept you. Also, @Mister Jack, I haven't had that issue with the screen getting cut off. Troubleshooting questions: What other games are doing it? Are you sure it's only Japanese games? Are you importing? Have you checked what screen size/shape the TV is set to? (typically for anything coming in over HDMI you want the TV set to "full") Is the resolution on the console set correctly?
  17. Changing the character to a Western name to make the character "actually" white instead of just being played by a white actor is only slightly less bad than having a white person straight up play a Japanese character.
  18. I still don't really understand what you mean though. When do people do that? I mean, clearly people tend to only defend things they find worthwhile/defensible, but the only way people would be "only singing that song" when they agree with it is if they were calling for stuff they don't like to be banned. I don't see people doing that. Am I just missing it or is that not what you mean?
  19. @Mr. GOH! Super minor spoilers related to that:
  20. What do you mean by this? I mean, I agree those things shouldn't be banned or anything, but if a consumer doesn't want to support a product that supports politics they find problematic I don't have an issue with that. I may think they're dumb for finding a particular thing problematic, but it's their money and they're entitled to spend it how they want. Similarly they're entitled to criticize a work for its politics. It's then the creator's prerogative to decide what to do based on that feedback, whether that is double down, do nothing, or try to appease them.
  21. Yeah, removing politics from games is impossible. What "removing politics" really means in practical effect is removing controversial politics. But if you're removing all controversial politics then you are necessarily supporting/reinforcing (intentionally or not) the current political/social/economic order, which is itself a political statement.
  22. They do need some kind of cover on the front so the screen isn't exposed when docked (though they need to figure out how to do that without scratching the screen), but the back should be mostly open, just enough of a framework to stabilize it without insulating it. 23. The spoiler tag is the little eye icon in the formatting bar.
  24. I'm gonna buy it after I finish Persona! I'm just hoping it'll be a little cheaper by then...
