  1. He just doesn't want to give up the money from the fascists.
  2. I too would like them to recognize Palestine, but I'm not going to complain about Taiwan.
  3. Practical consequences aside (I know that's a gigantic thing to put aside...) I'm actually kind of on board with getting rid of the one China policy. I think it's shitty that we pretend Taiwan isn't independent, or doesn't deserve independence, just because we don't want to irritate the China. Let them throw a tantrum, I don't think they'll actually want to go to war over it. (I obviously don't have access to intelligence briefings. If the consensus of people in the know is that China would actually go to war over it then I retract this, because that is not a consequence I'm willing to put aside.) *Edit - All of that said I have no illusions that Trump is doing anything for ideological reasons, he just does whatever comes to mind with no consideration at all and then his pride doesn't allow him to back down once he's done it. But still, even a loose cannon will occasionally shoot in the right direction.
  4. Yeah, it's been ages and ages since a major multiplatform release didn't support controllers on PC. It will support controllers.
  5. All the reviews say it's WAY better than the first one.
  6. Yeah, and I haven't played Doom, which is why I keep going back to Titanfall.
  7. Yes, it's official, and I haven't seen anything to indicate it's only one specific version so I assume both versions are delayed.
  8. Yeah, I'm usually someone who doesn't have a hard time with twists, but this one rather than putting everything in a new light a lot of it just left me going "okay..."
  9. IMO in order for it to be a great campaign you need it to come together into a cohesive whole that feels great as a unit, not merely great gameplay in a collection of well-designed levels. Titanfall 2's campaign, for instance, could have been almost as good if it were a series of unrelated levels, without any kind of story tying them together. 99% of the engagement came out of the gameplay/level design, there was no sense of narrative urgency or any kind of overall climax (I mean, looking at the plot I can tell what was supposed to be the climax, but it didn't feel like one while playing). Which is not to say the game isn't great or worth playing, because it totally is, and even most of these individual campaign levels are great, it's just that I wouldn't call the campaign itself amazing as a whole. Writing this has also got me thinking about music, and specifically how Halo (before they fired Marty) use d it so well to reinforce the excitement/downtime curve. Whenever I think of my favorite parts of Halo the music is always right there (and sometimes more vivid than the level itself), but with Titanfall they barely used music, or it was entirely forgettable.
  10. Yeah, I'm kind of surprised they didn't delay the Switch along with it.
  11. There's no Quarians in Andromeda?! Preorder cancelled.

They really need to remaster the trilogy before Andromeda, I don't remember shit.

    3. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

Makes sense. The Quarians are all abotu reclaiming their lost homeworld. And if a significant fraction of the Migrant Fleet was to fuck off to Andromeda, it would have definitely been mentioned in ME 2 or 3.

There's 17 million Quarians in the fleet. You could have a few thousand or even 10s of thousands leave without much issue. And with the way the rest of the galaxy treats them like a pest species I'm sure you could find at least a few wanting to say fuck it and leave.

  12. Alright, given the Zelda delay to June-ish I'm now tentatively planning to get a Switch when that comes out... But knowing me I'll probably buy it at launch on a whim anyway.
  13. This is the first time we've ever seen actual Switch gameplay of anything, period. The trailer they released before was all "simulated" pre-rendered videos of the games. People thinking it showed a lower framerate on the mobile mode were just overanalysing and being crazy.
  14. That's kind of how I felt about Titanfall 2: the gameplay was great, and the campaign was good, but it wasn't mindblowingly "top 3 fps campaigns ever" good like people were acting. Though I guess I do feel like replaying it so that says something.
  15. I've been playing Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void. I finished the prologue and the first two story missions, and so far so good.
  16. I hadn't thought of it, but now that you mention it I can definitely see the similarity.
  17. Well shit, this game's looking pretty cool. Very much Bioshock in space.
  18. That's actually the "boxed" one (which will just be an empty box with the download code inside) because the discount only applies to physical game purchases, but they also have a download purchase available.
  19. Considering Japan Studio is owned by Sony, I don't think that's very likely.
  20. Yeah, according to Digital Foundry it runs like balls on a standard PS4, between 20-30 fps, and not much better on a PS4 Pro at 4k. They say the only way to get actual stable performance is on a PS4 Pro in 1080p mode. *Edit - Though at the end they do say it still runs better than SotC did on the original PS2, and I loved the shit out of that game even then, so it probably won't be a dealbreaker for me.
  21. Went ahead and preordered Andromeda since I get 20% off game preorders with Amazon Prime and my Prime subscription will be expiring before the game comes out. Figure I can always cancel it if I find it cheaper elsewhere.
