  1. Halo Wars 2 Ultimate. I loved the first game and this comes with the remaster, available next Tuesday if you preorder, so I had no choice really. The remaster of Halo Wars also represents its first port to PC.
  2. Pretty sure the lore is basically "blah blah blah, void magic". Don't quote me on that though. *Edit - as far as plot goes (spoilers for Daud DLC, no spoilers for Dishonored 2):
  3. To keep with the above format: I've been playing Hitman (2016). I finished the prolgue and the first two story missions, and so far so good. I've tried the previous Hitman games (Hitman, Hitman 2, and Blood Money) and always bounced off, but I kept hearing so much good stuff about this one that I tricked myself into trying it. Well I'm glad I did! I love how the missions feel like giant, insanely intricate puzzles. Like even though on paper it sounds like a stealth action game, in practice it feels more like playing Hitman Go than it does like playing Splinter Cell. I love that the stealth is primarily geared around hiding in plain sight rather than actual sneaking.
  4. I got it for remote play, because I loved remote play on Vita but over the wifi it's not very stable. So I thought "Yeah, remote play over LAN! That'll solve the problems!" And it did. Except it introduced the new problem of needing to be hooked up to the TV which meant I couldn't use it out in the main room with my wife (which is the main reason I used remote play in the first place) without dominating the TV. In retrospect that should have been a fairly obvious problem. And to answer your question, yes, I will be getting the Switch when Zelda launches! Why do you ask?
  5. What's the problem with it?
  6. I saw that there's new quests, is there any new story content?
  7. Yeah, about the only thing I did much on it was play P4G.
  8. Just finished StarCraft 2. An excellent close to the trilogy.
  9. Oh yeah, Trump definitely has the authority to do it, with or without that legislation. I'm just saying that the legislation existing doesn't actually have much (or any) legal force.
  10. But also to be fair there's a pretty good argument Congress doesn't actually have that authority
  11. They apply better to some than others though. The Empire is plainly a racist totalitarian government, against a pluralist multispecies rebellion. The Empire is specifically styled after Nazis/fascists. So sure, you can draw analogies to anything, but some of the lines are shorter than others.
  12. He just doesn't want to give up the money from the fascists.
  13. I too would like them to recognize Palestine, but I'm not going to complain about Taiwan.
  14. Practical consequences aside (I know that's a gigantic thing to put aside...) I'm actually kind of on board with getting rid of the one China policy. I think it's shitty that we pretend Taiwan isn't independent, or doesn't deserve independence, just because we don't want to irritate the China. Let them throw a tantrum, I don't think they'll actually want to go to war over it. (I obviously don't have access to intelligence briefings. If the consensus of people in the know is that China would actually go to war over it then I retract this, because that is not a consequence I'm willing to put aside.) *Edit - All of that said I have no illusions that Trump is doing anything for ideological reasons, he just does whatever comes to mind with no consideration at all and then his pride doesn't allow him to back down once he's done it. But still, even a loose cannon will occasionally shoot in the right direction.
  15. Yeah, it's been ages and ages since a major multiplatform release didn't support controllers on PC. It will support controllers.
  16. All the reviews say it's WAY better than the first one.
  17. Yeah, and I haven't played Doom, which is why I keep going back to Titanfall.
  18. Yes, it's official, and I haven't seen anything to indicate it's only one specific version so I assume both versions are delayed.
  19. Yeah, I'm usually someone who doesn't have a hard time with twists, but this one rather than putting everything in a new light a lot of it just left me going "okay..."
  20. IMO in order for it to be a great campaign you need it to come together into a cohesive whole that feels great as a unit, not merely great gameplay in a collection of well-designed levels. Titanfall 2's campaign, for instance, could have been almost as good if it were a series of unrelated levels, without any kind of story tying them together. 99% of the engagement came out of the gameplay/level design, there was no sense of narrative urgency or any kind of overall climax (I mean, looking at the plot I can tell what was supposed to be the climax, but it didn't feel like one while playing). Which is not to say the game isn't great or worth playing, because it totally is, and even most of these individual campaign levels are great, it's just that I wouldn't call the campaign itself amazing as a whole. Writing this has also got me thinking about music, and specifically how Halo (before they fired Marty) use d it so well to reinforce the excitement/downtime curve. Whenever I think of my favorite parts of Halo the music is always right there (and sometimes more vivid than the level itself), but with Titanfall they barely used music, or it was entirely forgettable.
