  1. Oh, okay, I remember that part of the book, just didn't remember the names. I know that in Far Cry 3/4 you climb radio towers for your map. What I'm not understanding is why you think radio tech would be necessary to the tall trees climbing map system.
  2. What does radio tech have to do with it? From high up you can see for a long ways, thus filling in your map. It's how Assassin's Creed has done it. As to that second part, I have no idea what that means.
  3. Yeah, I've seen lights like that, but they're typically in closets. My guess about the electric shower would be that it's not really a thing here because given we have more space in general we probably tend to have bigger tank water heaters than you do, making it less necessary. The AC is basically a requirement for huge areas of the country due to weather.
  4. Horse armor DLC. Horse armor. Horse armor DLC in this, the year of our Lord two thousand and fifteen. I just... I don't even...
  5. Coming out February 23, same day as Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. So, I guess I'm not getting Primal at launch. Too bad. @TFG: Isn't Ark: Survival Evolved a sci-fi game? Though one you didn't mention is Horizon: Zero Dawn. It's set in the future with giant robot dinosaurs, but it's also post-apocalyptic so the humans are back to hunter-gatherers for the most part. I mean I see how they're all related, but this is the only one that seems to be going for any sort of resemblance to the actual past (even WiLD has lots of fantasy elements, doesn't it?)
  6. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-10-06-stone-age-set-far-cry-primal-launches-in-february And it's confirmed. This is the first time I've ever had much interest at all in Far Cry, and now I want it so very, very bad.
  7. @TFG: The mixer shower is the only kind of shower I have ever encountered in my life. I have heard of showers with built-in on-demand water heating, but it's always as part of the actual shower itself, not a separate attachment you can install later. I've also heard of on-demand water heaters for replacing the house tank heater, but it's for the whole house and from the faucet side would be transparent to the user, you just wouldn't run out of hot water.
  8. Bathroom lights work with a regular switch inside the bathroom. He was saying that what you call chips we call french fries everywhere, not just McDonald's. What the hell is an electric shower? Or a power shower for that matter.
  9. The polite way to use a fork in America is to hold it in your left hand to steady the food while you're cutting with the knife in your right hand, then you put down the knife and transfer the fork to your right hand to take a bite. It's incredibly stupid. I'm confused about him saying the TV looks better. I was under the impression lots of your TV still wasn't in HD, whereas here everything is in HD unless you set it up wrong.
  10. And now Morrissey is a person I've heard of.
  11. Your humor is so dry that sometimes I'm not sure.
  12. I was just coming in to post a link to a Eurogamer article about that. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-10-05-far-cry-primal-is-an-ice-age-spin-off-report Now I'm significantly less interested than I was initially. Although Far Cry without guns sounds more promising... wait, did I just describe Assassin's Creed?
  13. Drug dealers use kitchen scales for measuring quantities both for sale and when cutting it.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAQmt-60nUY Ubisoft livestreaming what is expected to be some kind of new game reveal.
  15. No, we have spoons like that. I think he was just saying that even recipes that have switched to weight for big measurements still use volume (spoons) for little ones.

  17. Yeah, actually after I said that I realized pretty much everything other than liquids is sold by weight, including flour. It's just in recipes that flour is by volume. Although if you're measuring right you should be measuring fluffed flour instead of packed flour, so it's not an issue.
  18. Typically stuff here is only listed in cups if it's something that's straightforward to measure that way (liquids, flour, sugar, etc), other stuff is listed by weight, usually ounces.
  19. I like to imagine that storm trooper is actually doing a flying crane kick rather than getting force-thrown.
  20. Usually I ignore the brand part of it, because you can find other brands of the same thing, but I think it does largely originate from somebody's grandma writing down the cheese dip recipe off the Rotel can in 1957, and it just getting passed down still calling for Rotel and Velveeta.
  21. What really bugs me is when recipes say "1 can of Brand X whatever" without saying the size or anything, because sometimes the sizes of stuff like that changes.
  22. Alright, FDS, you've been warned. That conversation ends now.
  23. He never implies she's bad at games because she's a girl, just that she's bad at games. You're just trying to start trouble, cut it out.
