Well supposedly the reason for the software was because they weren't able to meet the US's emissions standards while still maintaining the fuel economy and performance that makes the diesel engines attractive in the first place. If that's true then they may not be able to really bring diesel cars to the US in large numbers like Europe has.

Moved the VW thing here, because apparently this scandal is now sweeping Europe as well. They think the software was designed with the US in mind though, because we have stricter emissions rules (a fact I was astonished to learn).

So I did a little experiment and confirmed that all the stats, not just light, actually do go up on equipment when you infuse it, so that's nice.

How the fuck are you getting all these legendaries? I have 4 legendary weapons, two of which came from quest rewards rather than random drops, and an exotic weapon that was also a quest reward. How do you get this quest? Why don't I have it?! I've actually run out of quests I can do atm other than the nightfall and raid quests, which obviously require getting a group together. One thing I wish they would have changed about infusing is that I wish instead of only increasing the gear's light level it would also increase its other stats an equivalent amount. There have been some pieces of equipment I've really liked the look of, and sure I could infuse them to bring the light level up, but that doesn't change the fact that their stats (or maybe it does? I've seen conflicting information on that).

They just announced Episode 5 isn't releasing until October 20! I was hoping for this month! Oh well, I'd rather they take their time and do it right than rush it out to meet an arbitrary 2-month schedule.

The EPA says Volkswagen diesel cars sold in the US between 2009 and 2015 had special software that would only activate their emission control systems when the vehicles were being tested to ensure they complied with regulations, then turn them off during regular driving. VW admitted it after they were discovered. That's just... holy shit. That is some next level flagrantly illegal activity right there. When the emissions controls are turned off the cars can emit as much as 40x the legal level of pollutants into the air. The EPA can impose a fine of $37,500 per vehicle sold in violation of the regulations, meaning the total fine could be $18 billion (something tells me it won't be that high). VW's CEO has apologized: Read: "We would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling regulatory agencies."

Okay, TTK fucking rocks, Bungie definitely took to heart the criticism from Year One. I love how much content there is, every time I think I'm finishing a quest line it unlocks something else. And I especially love that the Court of Oryx is public so you don't even have to get a group together, you can just do it with whatever randos happen to be in the area.

The Taken King. Finished the main story yesterday, though awesomely there are a whole bunch of quests that unlock after the main story is finished. This is made almost entirely of excellent addition/changes to Destiny. My only real complaint so far is that there doesn't appear to be a good PvE way to get Legendary Marks until you're already a high enough light level that you don't really need them.

I haven't tried the new Titan or Warlock subclasses yet, but Voidwalker is definitely my new favorite Hunter subclass. Especially with the perk that makes all talked enemies share damage.

Lol, I know. I liked Catherine fine, and would play a sequel, but Persona is much more exciting for me. It's actually the only game that I was really excited for this fall, so this news makes me a sad panda.

I got MIDA Multi-Tool from that engram, and was really looking it until I started getting better green and blue TTK weapons. And I don't think the multi-tool even had a TTK version.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue. I enjoyed it, but I think I'm done with Assassin's Creed for a while. Sincerely doubt I'll get Victory, unless they show some amazing new thing about it that rekindles my interest.
