I did not know that. Interesting. My town was dry until about 10 years ago, but that just meant you had to drive to the next town over, which is only 10 minutes away, and it was only sale that was illegal, not possession/consumption.

AFAIK it's legal to possess/consume alcohol anywhere in the US (provided you are of suitable age), but there are some towns/counties where it's illegal to sell it, so if you live there you have to go to a nearby area to get it.

I don't think watching it as a couple made it any tougher to watch, but yeah, that recording tech could get pretty damn awful. What we decided after talking about it was that it would probably be by far the worst for the generation that was fairly young adults when it first got big, because they'd be young enough to probably use it extensively (unlike older people who would likely just shun it altogether), but old enough that they wouldn't innately understand the new social dynamics the way kids who grew up with it would.

I think "functional but dull" fairly well sums up the reactions to The Order that I've seen.

I just hate it when people lie, whether it's related to gaming or not. Saying "we do not have plans to do that" is factually untrue, as obviously (based on the timing) they did have plans. Saying "we are not going to comment on that" or "we do not have anything to announce at this time" is not untrue, it's just them saying they're not talking about it. That is an important distinction, and an odd quirk of Japanese companies. I'm not saying Western companies never lie, it's just they tend not to do it quite so obviously. If a Western company lies it's because they intend you never to learn the truth, they don't do it knowing that they themselves are going to reveal the lie in a week.

The non-microwaved one for $10,000 is a better deal, imo.

My wife and I watched that show a month or so ago and loved it. Looks like there's going to be a season 3 too, so yay!

I'm not saying they should have announced it, but rather should have said "we don't comment on rumors" or something along those lines. It's just weird to outright lie.
