  1. I realized the 1 GB of space on the PSTV isn't even enough to download lots of PSP games, so I got this just so I can put a couple games at a time on there. I thought about getting a bigger one, but even the 8 GB one was going to be like $18 with shipping, and I don't think I'll use it enough to justify that.
  2. I never played the original Thief series, but quite liked the new one. It wasn't amazing or anything, but it was pretty solid. I think mainly why people didn't like it is because it didn't live up to the originals.
  3. Yeah, I didn't mean to imply they don't get any other breaks. According to what I've read Japanese schools tend to have about 30 more days per year than US schools, but going to school on Saturdays easily makes up that difference.
  4. Japanese school runs year round. They have about a week-long "Spring Break" between the end of one school year and the start of the next, at the end of March. *Edit* - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_term#Japan
  5. The American academic year is from ~September-May.
  6. Mr. GOH! would give any console-only game a 1/10.
  7. Well to be fair, in ye olden days when games did that they were basically just the same thing over and over again, but getting progressively more difficult, and the point was to see how long you could keep up. Like Horde Mode.
  8. @FLD: It's more like: THE WORST THING EVER - UTTERLY TERRIBLE - REALLY AWFUL - TERRIBAD - EXTREMELY BAD - BAD - NOT VERY GOOD - GOOD - PRETTY GOOD - REALLY GOOD - THE BEST THING EVER
  9. To be clear, I'm not defending numerical ratings. I really like Eurogamer's new system, and I like PXOD's system even better. I'm just saying that among numerical scales there is nothing inherently better or worse with having the score for an "average" game be a 7 or a 5, because it's all arbitrary and subjective anyway. *Edit* - @Jack: Yeah, to me a 65 is "on the low side of mediocre." It's not like it's terrible or anything though.
  10. And that kind of thing is fine. I just hate it if I play for a while and then have to unexpectedly quit for some reason, and then have to decide whether to use one of my limited number of saves or lose my progress.
  11. That sounds like a perfect implementation of Iron Man mode.
  12. Yeah, I don't mind if they want to restrict where I can save, but I hate it if they restrict the number of times I can save.
  13. 65 has always been bad (or at least highly iffy). Why do people act like a 6 to 10 scale is a problem? It makes perfect sense, and is a direct analog to school grades, where ~70% is average and <60% is failing.
  14. Japanese companies lie all the time, for no discernible reason. The one that always comes to mind for me is when Atlus straight-up said it had no plans to bring Catherine to NA, and then two weeks later announced the NA release date for a few months after that.
  15. "Admitted" or "seized as an excuse"?
  16. Or my rule: never preorder any game if there is any reasonable doubt that it will be fun/good enough to justify the price. Hasn't let me down yet (I get a fair amount of false negatives, but never a false positive yet). *Edit* - Oh, can I say I called it yet?
  17. I didn't even know they ever made MM for GCN. I had the GCN version of OoT (first time i ever got a preorder bonus, for Wind Waker) and it was awesome.
  18. "Fuck Nintendo, they won't make enough of their shit." *Rewards Nintendo by buying their other shit*
  19. I don't care if it goes on sale in a few weeks, I was just going to be mad if it did it less than a week after I bought mine. Although I've since realized that the Vita TV doesn't have enough internal storage to hold the digital version anyway, so it wouldn't actually have been any more convenient (I would just have to be swapping memory cards instead of game carts, so it'd be a wash).
  20. I actually played P4G for about 2.5-3 hours before the into was really over. I'm glad I was warned, cause that might have been frustrating.
  21. I'm glad that's not a US sale, because I'd be pissed I hadn't waited for the digital version. @Kenshi: I'm pretty sure it's just one year.
  22. The 5 hour playthrough was admitted to be on Easy. The times above are more in line with what I would have expected.
  23. Yeah, what TN said, it's not that the same enemy type was used, it's that it's exactly the same encounter in a QTE, with the same camera angles and animations and everything.
