Here they are when the game launched: As you can see, Freedom unlocks in the Renaissance era, Order and Autocracy unlock in the Industrial era, so Freedom is actually available first. Also, you don't "upgrade" from on to the other, they each have different strengths and weaknesses, and you can only have one of those three active at any given time. They're portrayed as being mutually exclusive options for government, not as any one being an upgrade of the others. Then, with Brave New World they changed it so that they all three unlock at the beginning of the Modern Era (or when you build 3 factories, whichever is first) and the choice is permanent. As someone who's loved the shit out of Civ since Civ II, I think Civ V is the best yet (V > IV > II > III). Especially after Brave New World. I am really looking forward to Beyond Earth though, some of the changes they're making with the quests and whatnot sound interesting.

I would agree with you about Batman, except I think the problems with Origins are entirely due to it meeting made by a different developer. It just feels like everything's a little off.

Legality is part of the issue. Someone who isn't a "criminal" but happens to own a gun is way more likely to use it in a fit of rage than someone who doesn't own a gun. But yeah, people who really want guns to commit a crime are always going to be able to get them.

The only Nintendo game I'm anticipating right now is Zelda. I'm mildly interested in Super Smash, but if it just never materialized I wouldn't be torn up about it. Overall my most anticipated game right now is the Master Chief Collection (I know, it's lame), with Destiny and Arkham Knight tied for a close second.

Yeah, that game is like Uncharted-meets-metroidvania. It's pretty great.

Guacamelee! I really enjoyed it. Challenging without being punishing, which was a pleasant surprise since I'd gone in expecting punishing based on what I'd heard people say about it.

My home button has always just taken me back to whatever desktop page I was last on, and then if I hit it again it takes me to the home one.

Yeah, don't mistake this for complaining, I really like this game. It's challenging without being punishing. I'd just expected it to be more punishing since I'd heard it was hard, and usually when people on the internet talk about a game being hard it's not in a way I enjoy.

That's the third-to-last boss, and I've already beaten the next one ( ). He was a little harder, but not much.

You mean like this one? I've already beat the boss after that too. Honestly, it seems like they're getting easier as I go, which is weird. I definitely have encountered some of the devious optional platforming bits though.

I would have played it if it'd ever gone on Plus. I'm not sure exactly what the changes are in the Super Whatever edition.

I'm fine with 7 being considered "average". I mean, a 70% is a C, which is supposed to be the average grade, so it makes sense to me. *Edit* - That said, if I'm rating things with stars I do tend to apply the middle = average idea. Generally I go llike this: 1 star - I really didn't like it 2 stars - I didn't like it 3 stars - it was okay 4 stars - I liked it 5 stars - I really liked it I don't know why stars seem different to me.

I've been playing Guacamelee, free from XBL, and it's pretty great. I think I'd been turned off initially from people talking about it being great because it's hard (I could be wrong about that), but it doesn't seem too bad and I think I'm pretty far through it.

Yeah, 3 will feel samey after 2, but 2 is quite a big change from 1.
