  1. It looks way better than the default ship you start off with.
  2. I couldn't remember for sure when I was posting that, so I looked it up and everything I could find said it didn't have them for matchmaking in Halo 4, only custom games.
  3. What's the point in wall mounting when you have to have a stand for all your components anyway? Also, with mine in the corner there's not really a good way to wall mount it, and the fireplace and windows are in the way of putting it on any flat walls.
  4. You can play multiplayer in the Alpha, but there's only one gametype (Control). And yeah, that shotgun move was kind of out of desperation... or rather, the belief that I couldn't possibly do enough damage with the assault rifle.
  5. It doesn't look like that 2011 demo, no, but I prefer it a million times over. Too many games have bland "realistic" graphics, and for games going for a realistic feel that makes sense, but Zelda is all silly fantasy, the art style should reflect that. Also, the Wii U is a little more powerful than the PS3 and 360, which played Skyrim more or less okay (a little less for the PS3...).
  6. Yeah, I loved Wind Waker's art style right from the beginning too. I also liked Skyward Sword a lot, but Wind Waker's always been my favorite until this new trailer. Goddamnit, now I want to go play Zelda again...
  7. Fine by me, I prefer the stylized look. (For this, not necessarily for everything.)
  8. As my Twitter followers will no doubt be aware, I've been going kind of nuts with the alpha. Here is some of the stuff I've produced so far (spoiler tags so it's not quite so gigantic): My characters: Some landscapes/environments: My pretty ship: And some videos:
  9. So I recorded this a while ago but only just got around to uploading it: The buildings actually have interiors! Next gen!
  10. You mean the art style? Or just the fact that it's actual "gameplay"? (Really it's a scripted demo that lets you move the camera around and stuff.)
  11. I think the addition of a stamina bar would ruin the game. I don't really disagree with anything else you said, but so much of the game is about free-running/climbing that if you limited that it just wouldn't be the same game.
  12. That makes more sense. And yeah, the GCN controller is better than a Wiimote for Smash Bros.
  13. Physically plugging it in was a benefit back in the GCN days because wireless controllers still had a ton of latency, but now it's imperceptible.
  14. Well my thought with the lighting was that in TLA they established that in order to create lightning you have to be calm and peaceful, but that the firebending techniques of the time relied on violent emotions like anger for their power, and the two are mutually incompatible. Fast forward 70 years and Zuko's reforms have moved firebending closer to its origins and people don't rely on their anger anymore so more people can produce lightning. And Iro said that studying the waterbenders was how he learned to redirect lightning, but it's not necessarily how one learns to produce it. All that said, I totally agree that they could do some cool stuff exploring what happens when various benders study the techniques of the others.
  15. Isn't that basically what they talked about this year? Big, open world that's not discretely divided like prior games.
  16. Yeah, it should have been "No one knows why the blackout happened, and no one ever will know. Here's some sword-fighting."
  17. They were only great in comparison to the N64, they were awful in comparison to the Xbox controller (at least the S, the Duke is more arguable) and DS2.
  18. Oh yeah, I didn't mean firebenders could create lava to bend, I meant they could bend naturally occurring lava. The fluid thing is a good thought. It would be cool if earthbenders typically couldn't bend lava, but some learn to do it by studying waterbenders.
  19. And since it's over: Other New Red Dead on next-gen - AC: Unity and whatever the last-gen AC is (Comet?) - I predict that these will actually be highly related games, similar to how Splinter Cell: Double Agent had a Gen 6 and Gen 7 version, but they weren't ports, they were actually constructed separately. - I'm not counting this one because nothing was shown about Comet
  20. Yeah, they were terrible controllers. Why you would inflict that on yourself when there are better modern controllers available that will also work?
  21. Re lavabending: Not only Avatars have been seen lavabending. Sozin did it in The Avatar and the Firelord Part 2. My understanding was that lava is earth and fire put together, so both earthbenders and firebenders can bend it. It might take an especially powerful firebender, but it's doable.
  22. I liked it except for the ridiculous subplot about the nanotech and whatever it was doing.
  23. Yeah, I don't see the necessity of manual crouch, but it also doesn't bother me. Toggling doesn't bother me either, but I agree that if you have to hold it down that's annoying.
  24. Why would anyone buy a GCN controller? The only reason I see to get the adapter is for people like me who already have 4 GCN controllers and 0 Pro Controllers and don't want to spend $200 to get 4 Pro Controllers. If you're buying a new controller anyway you should buy the modern one.
  25. That's really impressive, I was worried latency was going to be a huge problem. As long as you can stream Netflix your bandwidth should be good enough, the problem would be the time it takes for your control signal to get from your console to the server and then the response in the game to get back to your display.
